Unfortunately Thailand has started to attract the lower class Brits in numbers in recent years. 15-20 years ago they were confined to Spain and Portugal but budget long haul air travel put paid to that.
Hopefully one good thing about this COVID-19 crisis is that air travel will become more expensive and keep most of these mouth-breathers closer to home.

Retirees are generally older and thus higher risk and may require medical care.
No surprise that they may still not yet be included.
Still, a reminder that proper due diligence must be done thoroughly before choosing to retire somewhere and not based on availability of bars and short times.

They are exactly the same as all other manufacturer's bikes. Clutch on the left hand, front brake on the right. Gear shifts with the left foot, rear brake on the right.
Incidentally the gearbox on the 650 twins is superb. A real joy to operate. Better even than most Japanese brands I have ridden.
The only negs about the bike would be the rear suspension at speed is a bit iffy, and could do with an upgrade, and the bike is a bit heavy for what it is. Other than that, all good.-

This has now made international news and made Thailand and the hotel in question look very bad indeed.
The damage done to the tourism industry by arresting and prosecuting this American man will make the online reviews pale into utter insignificance in comparison.
Another case of Thais acting without thinking of the consequences of their actions. All too common here.
The elephant in the room is obviously the Thai criminal defamation laws. Everyone should have the right to leave a negative review without fear of criminal prosecution or vilification. Civil action should obviously still be an option of course if the affected party decides to sue.
To those saying that the American man deserves his predicament, get a grip of yourselves.

They are modern motorcycles.
One thing that attracted me to the Interceptor, apart from the fact it was half the price of the equivalent Triumph Street Twin, was there was no gimmicks on it. No ride modes, no lcd dials etc. It is a motorcycle for the purist, to be enjoyed for the ride.
Make no mistake though, it is a better ride than the Street Twin. Again, just my opinion, but most reviewers out there tend to agree including MCN.

I have an Interceptor 650 and it is a great bike.
The new Royal Enfield twins are a completely different proposition to the older bullets and single cylinder thumpers with all their issues.
It should be noted that the RE Interceptor 650 is the best selling bike in the UK for 2019.

Many Thais I know play the online lotteries; Hanoi or Laos or whatever they are called. All set up to take money from and pay back into Thai bank accounts I note. There are also slot machine style sites. Never seen the appeal. Seems like a stupid person tax if I am honest.
About all the government can do is chase their tail blocking the sites though. Thais will not stop gambling online and new sites will spring up, while blocked sites will just shift to a new host and URL.

No visa issues but now no income.
