  1. COVID has been a big excuse for civil servants and local authorities not doing their jobs in the UK. Fact is that they are just lazy and inefficient and used COVID as a smokescreen.
  2. After the murder of those poor innocent children and their carers by a policeman in Thailand I brought this topic up with my cousin who used to be a police liaison officer for the US Embassy in Bangkok. My feeling is that all police weapons should be issued as property of the state and managed by a police armourer then returned when going off shift and when the officer retires or is dismissed. However he told me that Thai police officers are obliged to buy their own weapons hence they own them and there is no legal justification for them to hand them in when coming off shift. or leaving the force Apparently a similar situation exists in the US
  3. Teach them how to float and not panic first, then teach them how to swim
  4. the guy doing the 'lewd' act or the guy who videoed him?
  5. Why do you think she wasn't wearing a helmet?
  6. What a creep, killing a 4 month old kitten 'In self defence?'
  7. BBC News ran it too
  8. The answer to the question "What is the answer to the meaning of life and everything?" is 42. Douglas Adams revealed this in his seminal work "Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy"????
  9. Compassionate and reasonable action by the police, well done.
  10. Actually no different to the dress code in UK hospitals
  11. R.I.P. to those who died and condolences to their families and loved ones
  12. Any police officer in the UK will tell you that domestic violence cases are notoriously difficult to manage. often the victims will refuse to make a complaint and actually lie saying that it was an accident etc. The police cannot make a case if the victim categorically denies it was him it would be a waste of police resources and thrown out of court. So, they wait for her to make an official complaint to demonstrate that she will cooperate and give evidence against him. I think he should have his visa revoked and be thrown out of Thailand, never allowed to return, for being drunk and aggressive to police officers, which can be proved without her evidence.
  13. Onna stick, Inna Bun? Then choice is yours, with or without ketchup. (ref: 'Cut Me Own Throat Dibbler' of Terry Pratchett fame)
  14. The cost of a 10mg ampoule of pure diamorphine is less than a penny but it can have a street value of over £60. same applies to many other hard drugs hence it is considered easy Big money by criminal elements, Remove this massive markup by making it legally available, at cost, and the criminality surrounding such drugs (e.g. theft to fund the habit, gang wars, Terrorist funding) would probably evaporate.
  15. I think I can agree with you. Legalising all drugs will drive down the price and make it unprofitable for criminals. Tax them at a low rate and spend the billions 'fighting' drugs on controlling their use and setting up addiction programmes. I believe an experiment was carried out in Scotland where heroin addicts were supplied with heroin and they integrated and lived productive working lives because they didn't have to beg and steal and mix with bad boys to get the money for their regular hit.
  16. Are cannabis sales banned on certain public holidays and during elections? Is cannabis sale be banned at certain times of the day? Both these rules apply to alcohol Cannabis affects decision making capability too and can be a temptation to children too If they have not been applied to cannabis then the whole system is a joke and the legalisation of cannabis has definitely not been thought through before enacting
  17. whoops a daisy, no I didn't????
  18. I am looking for the same. my fiancé is Thai but she is illiterate therefore Thai subtitles are useless to her. I would like to watch western films with her. I find English subtitles easy to read so listening to a film dubbed in Thai whilst reading the English subs is no problem. I will bookmark this thread and let you know if I come across any website which provides them.
  19. There were similar scenes in the UK back in the 70's with extreme left wing minority groups causing violence at protests trying to undermine the elected government of the UK. The police need to be equipped with reasonable defensive and offensive measures to protect themselves and property and arrest perpetrators. It is extremely scary to be confronted by a violent intimidating mob who damage private property of people who have no connection to the issue (overturn parked cars etc.) and sometimes police officers can 'lose it' their fear converts to the natural aggressive response, and they go after the ones perceive as threatening. There may have been a few incidents where police officers lost it but I think the police were restrained and disciplined in general.
  20. Seems to me that the 'Protestors' started the violence and the police responded in a controlled and appropriate way. We had this kind of organised violence by 'Protestors' in the UK back in the 70's when extreme left wing elements tried to disrupt our society. The restraint shown by the police is commendable. The 'politician' who encouraged the violence should be arrested and charged.
  21. Don't you mean marrying professional girls then dying (happy and exhausted?)
  22. Yeth Mathter. I'm Very Thorry Mathter
  23. Interesting that you cherry picked my post which criticised your declaration that a purpose bred 'domestic' animal (Pit Bull) which mixes with humans is the same as natural wild animals which do not mix with humans. You have made it completely out of context. If you are going to respond to me quote the whole post don't cherry pick.
