Trump will never be impeached and even if he were, he would not be removed from office. He will definitely not be indicted. There is no precedent for a sitting President being indicted. My hope would be that voters will decide to make him a one-term President.

I am considering purchasing health insurance through a local expats group. Do any of the members here have experience with AXA or other Thai health insurers? I am hesitant to buy from a Thai company but BUPA and others want to charge me 800 dollars a month in premiums. Obviously, I can't do that without a gigantic hit to my lifestyle. I'd like to hear from anyone who has used the Thai companies. If necessary, message me privately. I am not unaware of the propensity of Thai companies to file defamation charges. Thanks.

Cleptocrats and asset forfeiture. Amounts to making the family pay for any supposed malfeasance on Yingluck's part.

I think I would chose Vietnam over the Philippines.
Care to explain why?? My information has been that Vietnam is more expensive than Thailand while Philippines is slightly less expensive.

I am glad now I decided to stay in the Philippines, people don't fall out of hotel windows here, wherever you go they speak at least a little english. In general the people are polite friendly and very willing to share.
Of course there is a bad element here, its not paradise on earth.
But it's easier to live here as a foreigner.
The visa situation is easy keep renewing you tourist visa for 36 months leave the country for 24 hours and return start it all over again.
This is good information. The Philippines would be the obvious choice if I were unable to continue to stay in Thailand. I had no idea you could extend a tourist visa that long before doing a turnaround. Used to be similar in Thailand.

Can't blame the guy. Does the judge ever ask herself what SHE would do in similar circumstances?

As usual, the Thai police INTERFERING with justice, rather than letting retribution take its course.

The best advice I ever got on the "wai" was from a former girlfriend. "You're a farang....you don't need to wai ANYONE."
Sounds legit.

Big Kahuna is certainly a contender, except for their irritating habit of putting TOO MUCH SUGAR into their tomato sauce. Far too sweet for a pizza connoisseur.

Pan Pan in Jomtien is your best option. Closer to what I am used to in the states.

No surprise that the US Embassy is of no help. They spend millions of taxpayer money and are worthless when dealing with the governments they are paid to deal with.

I'm not impressed at all with entitled westerners who expect every country's inhabitants to speak English. I'm glad that they speak it as well as they do, since I speak no Thai and have no plans to learn. Some of his other observations were spot-on but his overall attitude seems unsuited for much travel outside English-speaking countries.

Well, it's official, the BIB have broken the back of the sex trade in Pattaya.

Real seditionists charging protestors with sedition. Sounds legit.

The greatest act of love for these pitiful animals would be putting them to death. Thailand is certainly not the worst animal rights offender, but for a people who, ostensibly, love animals, there is no excuse for what I see daily.

Because the Justice Department was designed to prop up the wishes of the Executive Branch....Yup!!!

Poorly worded headline. Are they not ruling out abusing the dead cadet??

Sadly, it will never happen. He will probably be elected for a second term. The backlash is on the way, though. We can expect at least two terms of Democrats before public amnesia kicks in.

Come to beautiful Thailand and pay us to take advantage of your expertise. Sounds legit.

Completely beside the point. He was charged by Thai law, therefore he must be guilty.

Money numbah one....Thai people not do.

Do you think that they CARE if you can spend money in their shop or not??? Every Thai knows that the laws of economics do not apply in Thailand. If they have an economic downturn, it's all the fault of farangs, never of Thais. Our only function is to pump money into their economy. If they prevent it from being pumped, it's STILL our fault if they don't receive the benefits. Action does not produce reaction in Thailand, nor does anything have consequences unless it's an act performed by a farang. Outsiders need to internalize these Thai values and understand them. They won't change.
If you live in Hua Hin you might be about to get a visit from the Tourist Police

Maybe if they would stop shredding the useless information forms they require us to fill out, they would have a better idea of who is here and for how long. I am still amazed that there is no computer database. Why do they even have computers?
