Alcohol ban in Thailand on June 3 for Visakha Bucha
ikke1959 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I hope the MFP will ban these alcohol free day bans.... Too stupid nowadays. Give the people some responsibility, and besides that what is a party without alcohol?/ Vesaka is in Christianity Christmas, Easter and Pentecost.... -
Blocking of BBC interview with Pita
ikke1959 replied to anchadian's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
It is Thai democracy to block all kind of news that they don't like.. But he is right. Changes must be made to enter the 21st century and if the successor acted the same his father there would be less problems. But anoth 5 years to wait for equal marriage law for LGBTQ community is far too long as he promised it to be on the agenda in the first 100 days -
there were already talks before the election although they always denied it..

I think he is the mastermind behind it....in that coalition Pheu Thai is the biggest party, so good for the Pm and House Speaker, both positions they want.with MOve Forward they probably will get none of them. besides Pheu Thai hoped to be the winners, but the result was different.

Thailand's Election Commission Probes Pitha's ITV Shares
ikke1959 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
He will be framed as he has been open with this shares, at the Nacc and the Ec and everything and there were no problems..as he could be an MP in 2016.. Now he will be an Pm and want to change and there are problems now..Of course 19th century Thailand is not open for changes only for going to the moon and the tour the France..Bad for tourism and image of the country as the world knows what is happening in the Thai "democracy" -
Pheu Thai leader dismisses call for party to withdraw from coalition
ikke1959 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think that a lot of voters for Pheu Thai are disappointed. They have expected to win the elections, but for them unfortunately it was Move Forward. Now they can't have a key position in the new Government as PM and House Speaker are normally for the party with the most seats. If they withdraw from this coalition they have to form a new Government with the old military backed parties, but they have the majority of seats in that coalition, but that will be much harder to deal with because they very conservative. It is a game I think directed by the boss in Dubai, to get a key position or start a another coalition. However if in the deal is that MFP and PT will bring Thaksin back, there could be a solution. However you question yourself if it is a good idea to bring him back. -
iT is the fine that they have to pay of 2000 THB.. That is not of this ear anymore Make it 20.000 THB if they don't use the meter or even revoke their license... A lot of taxi drivers behave normal, as it should be only these rotten apples you have to get rid off, But this is Thailand and because there no institution that is willing to do their job it is a mess

I agree and in one sentence.. Thailand has no clue about the tourists and its industry, because they always came and they didn't need to do any effort for them, but now times have changed already before the Covid, and they did not adjust only because they don't understand tourists and therefor they have killed the goose with the golden eggs. Now they have rebuild tourism, but they don't know how and all the measures are more scaring off than welcoming.

First start to solve the air pollution in Thailand. Replace old vehicles, 24/7/365 black smoke cars, and oldtimers which almost fall apart , take them of the roads, overloaded old trucks, use of plastic, simple things to do and with some support of the Government everybody can contribute.. And of course promote solar energy for every household. Thailand did not do much in the past decades for climate change.. as we can see of the use of motorbikes for a few meters, instead of walking..The rising temperatures we can't handle but we can make our daily life better

Did Thailand just have its cleanest ever election?
ikke1959 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The people are not lazy to complain, but why should they? They get a day wage or sometimes 2 daywages for a vote.. It is because the people are so very low paid that this can happen. Easy money for them in expensive times, as schools opened, and electricity and gas are more expensive. So why should they protest? They got money, and the outcome of the electiosn who cares.. Most Governments do what they like as we have seen here too the last 20 years. Hopefully now there will be some changes, but there are a lot of conservative people here who still are brainwashed with traditions not of this time anymore.. -
House speaker issues???

The justice system is outdated.. Too high punishments for small offences, small punishment or non for the ones with money, and laws that are never updated. Confessing reduce the sentence to 50% and too many are granted less time or freedom on special occasions. There is a lot of work to do

Govt Outlines Timeline for New Cabinet Appointment
ikke1959 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Stupid to take the full 60 days to approve the elections. It could be done much quicker, better for the country to go forward instead of keeping everything back.. Oh we have 60 days we will wait the last day although maybe they are finished already.. -

Majority of senators “undecided” about voting for Pita as new Thai PM

If one person say it is ok they will vote for him, if the same one says no, they will not vote for him. Easy, nothing to do with anything else.. Hidden powers and influence -
