The Move Forward Party in Thailand is at risk of dissolution
ikke1959 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The army and elite will never accept a Government of the common people....In a next election and they have the majority ,,, the army will stage a coup again.. just to keep in power...Sadly situation for Thailand as there is more needed to stop these coups -
Good, lelectric buses and people should more use them as it is good for the enviroment instead of all single cars. But I still don't understand for that reason that there are no stops possible between Hua Hin/ Cha Am and Suvarnabhumi...Reason is Government regulations, but for tourist destiantions as Phetchaburi it would be preferable to get out or in too...Would be much more economic and profitable for the company as they pass on the highway already.. A stop would be easy... anyway the people working at the office are rude and don't care

Watermanagement in Thailand is not the best.. Songkran, ....spill water, water for watering against dust, or taps not closed and water is running away useless...Water over roofs to cool down and just name it.. They spill water and now they complain... Maybe start with good education about water usage, in schools on TV etc etc... Make people aware that water is needed instead of being spilled

Thanathorn Continues Senate Candidate Search despite EC Warnings
ikke1959 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News

Proper driving education and responsibiltity of the drivers are far away... Why drive with a lack of sleep...?? If feel tired stop the car and sleep don't continue. And what punishment is given?? probably not much so it is no example for other drivers, and the family has their problems now...If it were rich people it would be another story

Amnesty International Condemns Thailand's Human Rights Violations
ikke1959 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Thai Democracy is not for the people only for the super rich and the ones in the Government.. All others as we have seen many times will be locked up and silenced.. Human Rights as a part of the democracy are unknown... Thailand pretends they do everything, but even refugees from Myanmar are being sent back as reason they are entering Thailand illegally without a visa...Minors in jail for freedom of speech, etc .. They have no shame- 32 replies

Thailand Customs to Apply VAT on All Postal Imports
ikke1959 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So they have a plan of how to pay that tax? Or only all parcels have to be picked up at the postoffice? What happens if the postman doesn't have any change back as many paid a small amount and he is out of change? Thai post officers will be very happy with lines for less than 10 THB to pay -

Only one solution is that there must be enforcement of the laws, and therefor you need a working policeforce... Unfortunately both are missing in THailand -
How to retire in Thailand
ikke1959 replied to CharlieH's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thailand is a good country to retire... With not a huge income you can live here normally. Indeed the rules of 800k in a bankaccount or an income of 65k are compared with the Thai huge, but with a normal Western pension it must be possible to comply to the rules. But there is anothe rproblem that nobody seems to see. In my country there are a lot of retired people who work as a volunteer, helping people and organizations as these people have time and are very happy they can contribute something to the society. Here in Thailand it is impossible to do this. Volunteer work needs a workpermit and a workpermit will only be given if the job can't be done by a Thai. So it means that in fact as a retired person you are not allowed to do anything than go out for eating, sex, on holiday, but after that sit at home and watch your garden, while a lot of people want to give a hand, helping people, or animals or organizations, free of any payment same as in their homecountry. That is why I always want that the conservative labour laws are being changed. In a previous post some weeks ago, a person asked why I stopped working as I wanted to do something. But I think he was Thai as people don't understand the difference between real work and voluntarily jobs. -

UN Report Warns Of Asia's Increasing Climate Crisis
ikke1959 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thailand will surely start when it is too late already, when the floods are drowning the country, heatwaves burns in the afternoons, and air pollution is at dangerous levels... As long none of this happens, nobody will take actions too.. That is the policy of the last years till recent and will go on and on.. In the rainy season we will surely read again about regions that are flooded, but the rain will solve the air pollution and it will be les shot, and all problems are solved again for a few months... -
