no way Singapore will allow it. they will do whatever it takes to keep their monopoly.
They should allow Singapore to build it & run it for 99 years (like the US Panama Canal).
Then it would be done on time and under budget probably/maybe.
Will never happen I know. -
World Class Tourist Resort!
They better fix this before it "Damages the image of Pattaya".

My wife went from Pattaya to BKK once to see a friend who was a former airline hostess, but had recently taken up the beauty parlor business.
Wifey woke me up when she got home, her face about 6 inches from my face. I almost had a heart attack!
I thought a katoey had broken in and was robbing me!!!

Seems like the iron fist of government wins again to the determinant of the average Thai and Hi-So's as well. Don't waste time coming up with a reasonable solution.
Wait for it.......The Guv't will back-peddle on this one most likely.

If all the idiots that feed soi dogs would haul them down for both services offered, it might be the beginning of putting a dent in the overall issue.

The election clock will start ticking next year and political parties will have five months to organise and campaign before the poll, Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Wednesday.
If gambling were legal in Thailand, I'd bet anybody 20 baht that we'll see this same headline this time next year, and for several years to come.

Headline is perfectly correct. There were 2 separate fines, one for the van owner & one for the driver.

Any and all polls are to be completely and totally discredited, as having political interference. Let us not forget the media is being highly censored. For the most part, we are only hearing what they want us to hear.
I'll tell you what I want you to hear.
If you don't like it, we'll beat it into you.

Did he get fined 20K baht or 5K baht?
Edit -
Hang on. It was a 25K baht total fine.
LOH....Land of Headlines.

"So solly. CANNOT".

So whose fault; the rain or the fresh seafood?
Clearly a case of where "The Brakes Failed".

To all in Thailand, time to get out of Dodge City if you haven't done it already. That or lock yourself up in your house.
I went through it in one of my three years there and never again.
Let's just say there were pics of me soaking wet in a white T-shirt somewhere I never want to see again lol.
"And when the fat lady has sung in Bangkok...."
Are you that fat lady I saw singing on the last day of Songkran a few years back?
Just joking!
I went thru the Pattaya mayhem ONCE & it was a novelty.
I've despised it every since then.

I guess the brakes failed.

" They have been told in no uncertain terms by police - show your breasts and we will fine you up to 5,000 baht, reported Daily News."
As opposed to the rest of the year, show us your breasts or we will fine you.
No fine, just no tip.

So for 10K (following traffic ticket rules), I can get a couple honeys w/ their puppies out all day....Just show the next cop who wants to raise a fuss that you've already been ticketed that day and carry on right?

hmmm.........stay out of Thailand(for Falangs) to avoid the stupidity and carnage of songkran?...... I certainly do
Yes.
Half the bazillion airport visitors Swampy is expecting for Songkran will be expats trying to escape the idiocy.

Songkran without the carnage
April fools day is long gone for 2017.

My first Pattaya Songkran was a blast. I've hated every one after that.
I know this article is a farce, but for a professional based in Pattaya, working in Sattahip & Rayong & Sri Racha, it's a NIGHTMARE!!!!

And very interestingly, it's the language of choice for intercommunications within the EU.
English is also the international language of air traffic controllers the world over, so I've heard.

I recall when the Bali Hai pier opened. Less than a year later it was falling apart, and a local guy got electrocuted (yes he died).
Baht buses were never intended for it, yet they were tearing it up out there.
Figure at least 40-50% of this 200 million baht will wind up in brown envelopes.
The rest will go to sub-par, subcontractors who will make whatever they do, just good enough to last 2 months, and then it will start to fall apart.
Not Thai-bashing, just saying what will probably happen IMHO.
