Maybe, but we were discussing travel by bus, not train.
-
The only traffic you will encounter on the journey in a taxi would be: 1 - from your door to the highway 2 - from the highway to your destination If you get the bus, it's pretty much the same: 1a - From your door to the bus station 1b - From the bus station to the highway 2 - From the airport to your destination If you just prefer the bus, that's fine. We all have preferences. But there is no way that you're avoiding traffic by doing so. Sure. If ether living next to the pickup, and/or if the airport is your final destination, then that makes the equation a bit different. Please show your workings...

Chinese Tourists Revive Thailand Tourism Using ED Visa
JayClay replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You have serious reading comprehension issues. I did not ask you why the article was sarcastic. I asked you how you saying "can I do the same? Probably not, I'm not Chinese" manages to 'sarcastically' make your point about ED visas being used to stay in LOS long term? Your 'sarcastic' question refers to the issue of the visa, not the continued use. So the two points aren't even related. Yes. A tiny percentage do. If the gym your friend went to was such a school, then they gave him good advice that there are better visa options available for him; saving him a decent chunk of money in the process. If they gym wasn't a registered school then they would obviously not want to push your friend to a competing school, so they would obviously suggest to look for alternative visa options to prevent losing a customer. In either case, what is your point? And how does it relate to the original quote that I called you out on? -
These are the actions of a deeply, deeply unpleasant person.

Chinese Tourists Revive Thailand Tourism Using ED Visa

Yes I understand sarcasm. I don't see how it applies in this particular case. Perhaps you would like to explain how that remark fits the definition. I don't know how a gym (rather than a school) advising your neighbour (who was over 50 so had at least one better option available to him) to pursue a different visa type has anything to do with whatever point you're trying to make? -
Chinese Tourists Revive Thailand Tourism Using ED Visa
JayClay replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The article talks about a specific group of people (Chinese) who are taking advantage of staying for 90 days studying Muoy Thai on a non-ED visa. It is not an advertisement for, or an endorsement of, the visa. You "never said it was just the Chinese", but you strongly suggested that you thought you wouldn't qualify for such a visa because you're not Chinese. Which is exactly the same thing... -
Family appeal for missing British man in Thailand
JayClay replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
My phone has a dnd function. It's also always in my bag unless I'm expecting a call or open to unexpected interaction. -
I don't possess the same psychic abilities / people reading skills as you, so I am unable to make any significant deductions from the video's thumbnail.

Are you not going to factor in the price of getting from home to the bus station, and then from fhe bus station to your destination? Seems like quite a poorly thought-out "analysis" if you ask me...

Chinese Tourists Revive Thailand Tourism Using ED Visa

There are many people from all over the world staying in Thailand on ED visas studying just 4 hours a week. I don't know why you think it is an exclusive option for Chinese only? -
I have no idea who the guy is, and generally I tend to shop alone or with my girlfriend. I definitely don't "like shopping with [that] guy". If I didn't watch the last video clip you posted, what makes you think that I'm going to watch this one? You said that you found the idea of purchasing a suit [particularly when the seller is Indian?] "creepy". No amount of videos on YouTube are going to make that statement any less ridiculous. As I suggested before, you need to seek professional help with your phobia. There's nothing more that I can do for you. I'm sorry.

I don't see how taking a bus and a train is "better" than a door-to-door taxi service? It's certainly cheaper, which is why I myself do the same if I'm travelling light and alone, but if I had the choice/funds it'd be taxi every time.

Family appeal for missing British man in Thailand
JayClay replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I'm not particularly worried about you. I just hope that your family are aware of your wishes so as not to cause embarrassment for you if you happen to forget to check in with them for five days and then miss a routine regurn flight from a holiday of a pre-determined length. -
Family appeal for missing British man in Thailand
JayClay replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
As would I. It is typical for me to not speak to my family for months at a time. But by all accounts (did you read the link in the OP LivLou?), this is not typical behaviour for the man. And missing your flight home is clearly not usual behaviour for most people, let alone somebody who has been uncharacteristically out of contact for a few days. I hope you have made your family are aware of your wishes should a similar issue occur with you. -
Bank loan and divorce ?
JayClay replied to steph83's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I've never understood why more people don't do this when they want to buy their partner a property. It seems to me the safest way to be a provider without risking too much money up front. Especially if you were renting anyway before buying; you're essentially just re-chanelling the same money that you were already spending with somebody else (landlord) anyway. -

Maybe not you, no. Other people actually care about their family, I guess? 🤷🏻♂️ -
I haven't watched the video, but if you get creeped out by the idea of buying a suit then I would suggest some kind of counseling.

Business Class + Re-entry permit at Suvarnabhumi

Maybe somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the re-entry permit counter came before immigration. -
Yes

How many of your posts start with "most of the guys I've known"? Are you not familiar with the phrase "birds of a feather flock together?" People tend to be drawn to others who are in a similar situation than themselves, or have similar views to you. "The guys you've known" (or, indeed, the guys I've known, or anybody else has known) are not a representative sample of the general population!

Do you have the victim mentality?

This Taxi driver spoke pretty good English then? -
Again... Massive assumptions based on having a one-line conversation with these guys...

So now your're not only "definitely" sure that they are tourists, from your breif extremely breif (single sentence?) encounter with them, you are also confident enough to state that they have only just arrived. Seems strange that with such people-reading skills that you weren't able to also tell what they wanted. I guess my original suggestion stands then:
