A lot of people, who had airline tickets to BKK last Winter had their flights cancelled, and are still waiting on refunds. My CC would have covered it, but apparently many buy tickets through less full proof channels.
I don't see how that relates to next October. I will be buying a ticket from Finnair to Manchester from Bangkok leaving late April. I have no worries about that ticket being honoured.

Sure a contract is a contract, and your word is you bond...
But I 'm not asking about you: we know Johnson and Frost, we have seen them in action these last months.
You claim that right now if there was a private contract between the European Union and AstraZeneca, they would make sure that the UK send its own vaccine production to the EU (and get zero in exchange?).
21 million doses
Seriously?
I don't give a toss about Johnson and Frost, I told you how I would feel. Just as I'm sure that you don't give a toss how Macron feels.

I wonder how wide spread the refund problem from a well known airline is. That would certainly leave a bad taste in your mouth.
I've really no idea what you're getting at. Sorry.

There is some peant up demand, for sure, guys separated from their girls for going on two years, and likely would like a bit of dividend on the remittances. Will be easy enough to get some big numbers from China..but I cant see millions of farangs coming here for the first trip abroad in a few years.
I can assure you that there are many farangs desperate to visit. As for the UK, the majority will have had both shots by summer, virtually everyone by October. My mate who visited regularly before Covid will be over like a shot if he doesn't have to endure quarantine. Due to Covid he is awash with money, he hasn't been able to spend it.

Just put yourself in our shoes : lf the situation was reversed, and a private contract between AZ and the EU said the UK plants must send all their vaccines to the EU
...do you believe Frost and Johnson would be OK to deliver 21 million vaccines to the EU before Britain was served?
I wasn't a brexiteer, I was a remainer. As I said a contract is a contract, I would be peed if the situation was reversed. However, I wouldn't be peed at the EU or AZ I'd be peed at my country for making a lousy contract and leaving it to the last minute.

The question is do they have enough customers to justify to stay open ?
How many more months can they afford to lose money day after day ?
I think everyone is now expecting tourism to blast back in October.

No...on your arrival/departure card it states date of departure, you are required to have an onward flight.
It depends on your visa type. I am here on a retirement visa so no need to have a return flight from Thailand. Never fill in the departure date on my TM6

Johnson wants to see this contract respected because it allowed him to receive 21 million vaccines from the EU giving zero in return and he wants things to stay that way.
If you look at the Withdrawal Agreement treaty we signed, when Johnson does not like "this or that" , the signature of the UK suddenly becomes void.
What we need to set up there is a balanced, reciprocal relationship.
No we need to honour the contracts already made. In contract law, the contract AZ made with the UK trumps the contract that the EU made with AZ.

The only problem is the confusing announcements about whether AZ manufactured in Thailand will begin "production" or "delivery" in June 2021. Both these descriptors were used on the same day last week, and both mean completely different things.
And far from guaranteed.

I would think it will be direct flights to the Island to see what the data/result is regarding any transmission.
And to Pattaya? I guess private transport from Swampy to Pattaya would be OK.

What is the exact population of Phuket Island .
As soon as this news broke, there will be an increase of " residents " , all chasing the few tourist Dollars that are on offer.
There will be a massive problem in keeping "residents " within the Islands confines, while stopping a large number of transient people from entering to make a fast buck.
Cluster ... waiting to happen IMHO
Presumably if you spend your first 14 days in Phuket you will then be able to travel anywhere in Thailand.

Do you understand the way the court is supposed to work in the US? If the judge believes what is brought before him violates a higher law, it their responsibility to dismiss it. Judges are not supposed to decide what should and should not be the law, it is there job to interpret it as it is written.
Did you read from your link: "The city council should have listened to the city attorney. His repeated attempts to warn them that they did not have the authority to pass these ordinances were cited throughout the opinion. The opinion is also very thoroughly and thoughtfully written, which will make it even harder to overturn, should the city appeal it."
So apparently it was just a city council wasting time and money trying to make the news and look like the are doing something.
So did you not understand my statement that someone needs to file a complaint for the charge to be heard? In this case, NRA brought the complaint to court.

It makes not difference hat the American public wants, it is not the judges to decide.
Someone had to bring it to court for the judge to make a ruling. Who took it to court? The NRA.

"vaccine passports" are being looked at for later in the summer.
Do you remain registered as 'active' within the NHS, in order to qualify for the vaccine?
Also look into any quarantine requirements if you travel to the UK.
If I come via a non red country I need to do 10 days at home quarantine, shortened to 5 days with a private PCR test (not really practicable). Registered with a GP at a UK address, get regular repeat prescriptions sent on to me. Government has already written to me inviting me for a vaccination.

What activities? outdoor ones in this heat? Not for me thanks.
If it's gym, golf, going for lunch, whatever, you can pretty much do that anywhere. For me and most people I know it's stay out of the heat daytime and keep yourself occupied at home, ie internet, cooking, Netflix, work online etc, and wait until beer o'clock when it isn't like an oven outside...
You have missed the main activities. Servicing wife. Servicing mia noi. Servicing giks. Wife has asked me to make myself scarce tonight but just learned that no bars tonight. Was going to see gik but mia noi informed me that she has just kicked her husband into touch. Guess it'll be a bottle of wine round at hers then.

And latest evidence suggests that immunisation is only a slightly lower percentage than efficacy.
