Do you have a link to support that assertion? My search on the subject came up with numerous Muslim sites supporting safety measures, getting the vaccine and fighting misinformation.
Check out local maps of Covid cases in UK. In my area Blackburn highest in area.

New cases are mainly in immigrant communities where the immams are preaching that allah will take care of them and there's no need to social distance, wear masks or have the vaccine. I don't know what the solution is for that.

Because the 'Wise' fee and exchange rates are better than other types of International transfers.
Exchange rates are pretty much the same as I get on a bank to bank transfer in sterling and take Bangkok bank exchange rate. Cost is £9.50. What does wise charge?

7 days and 10 days of quarantine makes no difference to a real tourist who has limited time.
They should scrap the quarantine to 0 days for vaccinated tourists instead.
Currently planned for October.

Must come from countries without mutations?
There have been at least 4000 mutations of Covid-19 detected worldwide.
According to Nature.com virologists had catalogued over 12,000 mutations of the virus' genomes already in September 2020.
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-02544-6
The vast majority of them doesn't affect how the virus work, and most of them die off before spreading or getting foothold, but just about every country has several strains on their watchlist.
As of March 5, Norway have detected 130 different mutations of Covid. 35 that have spread domestically. 3 that are on FHI's watchlist (S477N, N439K and B1525). They all have changes in the respiratory binding domain, similar to the British, South African and Brazilian variants. In February FHI analyzed test of 10 people who had been in Africa. 8 of them were new variants.
https://www.tv2.no/a/12420667/ (Norwegian)
That being said, the British and South African strains are widespread. Then there's the first Indian mutation that the Burmese migrants took with them to Thailand that started the second wave, then there's the Brazilian strain and now there's a new Indian double mutation reported a few days ago. Probably many more strains to look out for as well.
In other words, no one qualifies for 7 days quarantine.
The Thai government appear to be primarily concerned about the SA strain as all the countries currently on the red list are African.

Just now, placnx said:It depends on which vaccine. The Pfizer started with a "validity" of 3 months in the US; now it's found to be still effective at 6 months. We are still learning. The durability of vaccine efficacity is probably not uniform anyway.
Latest info from AZ suggests it will offer a good level of protection for 12 months and possibly up to 2 years. You can't give a definitive answer until an appreciable number of people have been vaccinated for that length of time. Appreciable numbers have been vaccinated with AZ for more than 12 months now (Stage 3 trials).

I disagree, girls, food, girly bars not nearly as good. IMHO. What else is there in life? 555
I disagree. Girls are more beautiful, if that's possible, and tend to be bigger breasted. Food isn't better or worse, it's just different. Love their noodle dishes and their streetside baguette sandwiches. Girly bars I agree with but who needs them when every few hundred yards a young guy on a bike pulls up and shows you the girl of your dreams and a few minutes later she's in your hotel. "Grab Girl" the ultimate takeaway.

Sounds like Thai logic to me.
You'll never get 100% compliance in a lockdown but they patently do work to greatly reduce transmission in a community.
So if my neighbour doesn't use disinfectant, there's no point in me using it?
You'll never get 100% of a community vaccinated. In the UK 50% of the adult population have been vaccinated and new cases and deaths have reduced dramatically. There's also something called herd immunity. Scientists tell us that if we can vaccinate 75% of the population we should achieve this.

Use Post Office "track and trace". Well parceled with destination address (no need to use any Thai) senders address and parcel clearly labelled "prescription medicines". In all the years I've been doing it I've never had a problem with customs and never even had a parcel opened. They're allegedly x-rayed but mine includes packs containing needles and syringes and still no problems.

i plan on moving to Thailand next year. I was planning on keeping my prescribing doctor in the uk.
will thai pharmacies accept a prescription written by a uk doctor? Or will I need to get a prescription from a thai doctor?
I get a repeat prescription every 8 weeks from my GP in the UK. It gets sent to a designated pharmacy where a friend picks it up for me, parcels it up and posts it to me in Thailand. Been doing that for several years without a problem.

Maybe but where does it say that the 65k "must be" pension income?
Jontiem ask for evidence of pension for those using 65k baht method. I use my UK bank statements, P60, company pension payslip and DWP notification of my state pension amount. Others have argued at Jomtien that its not required but got nowhere.

I am not sure if you mean the problem with communism or how it works in Vietnam.
Communism in it's true state has failed and is just another way of controlling people and limiting freedoms. It tends to be associated with one party states. Show me a successful communist state where the people benefit equally as they should.
Ideally I like a system of democracy where people are rewarded for effort, i.e capitalism, tempered by a fair tax system, and unions and government rules, to help balance power.
Possibly Vietnam is communist in name only as it seems to be mainly free enterprise, though it appears without free elections, but I don't know a lot about the politics there to be fair. Googled but lost interest.
The people seem a lot happier in Vietnam than they do in Thailand.

The first priority when settling in any country is to learn the language. Vietnamese tends to be easier to learn than Thai as it uses the same alphabet as us, making it easier to read.

Moving 1,000+ kms to Phuket with the hope of finding work is not like buying a lottery ticket. To buy a lottery ticket any Thai can walk 5 mins down the road and buy one for a few baht, your average desperate Thai will not risk gambling the cost of travelling to Phuket, then gamble the cost of renting a room and paying a deposit to a landlord on the hope they will find work.
Having known several women who have done that, I know that most of them take out a loan of 10k baht from the village moneylender to make the move and establish themselves in the new location. As you say not something they would do without a guarantee of work and a quick return on their investment.

Just now, Leaver said:No argument from me, the UK has a fast vaccination rate, but that means nothing to Brit's who want to come to Thailand for a holiday while Thai people are not vaccinated to 65% of the population.
Are people, Thai's and tourists, truly supposed to believe Thailand will go from a press release stating manufacture starts end of April, to 65% of Thai's vaccinated by October.
That's 7,500,000 Thai's per month, 250,000 Thai's per day. Authoritarian or not, do you really think Thailand is capable of these numbers?
The aim is to start with the tourist centres. Phuket is already on with it.

How can it take western countries months and months to vaccinate around 65% of their population, but Thailand will have 45,500,000 Thai's vaccinated by October?
UK predicted to have 95% of the adult population vaccinated by end of July. I'm going back in 2 weeks for mine. US isn't far behind. Thailand is an autoritarian country. They will be told, "Line up and take your medicine".

Just now, Leaver said:We know what is happening in the UK. When will similar seriously start here so people can know when borders will open and tourism can start? Until then, you can expect more closures as leases come up for renewal.
We are told that mass vaccination will start as soon as the Thai AZ facility starts producing, latest news suggests before the end of this month. Rather than listening to your predictions of doom and gloom, local busnessmen seem to be reacting to the news that quarantine restrictions are reducing in a phased program. Its already started on 1st April, more easing in July and a plan to have quarantine lifted for those vaccinated by October. Combined with the news that most Western countries are aiming to have the majority of their populations vaccinated by that date, local businesses are already opening/reopening.
27 gogos now open in Pattaya. If we returned to normal opening hours and Walking Street wasn't a bomb site, it would be more. By October expect everything to be in full swing. Christ on a bike, even TQ has risen from the dead.

If the customer has covid after being vaccinated, he can give it to the bar bar girl, and vice versa.
Post as many links as you like but the latest consensus is that vaccines provide a very high degree of immunisation and at 70%+ of the population vaccinated herd immunity kicks in.
Also, protection rises exponentially if both parties are immunised. Check out figures for the UK where almost 50% of the adult population are immunised. 68k+ daily new cases back in January, 2297 new cases yesterday. Vaccines work. End of.

The convoluted response also exist in Thailand due to language problem, not many people know what 'city center' means. Thai may think it means 'Central Festival' - another shopping mall so I don't consider this to be a problem.
I am surprised you didn't mention the 'Muslim call for prayer' that blast their speakers at 5 am in the morning when most people are still sleeping. They would blast their speakers 5 times per day so even the afternoon naps are broken.
I used to stay at a hotel in Thailand that has a mosque nearby. I don't know why they don't use alarm clocks nowadays instead of waking up the whole neighbourhood.
I live between 2 mosques in Pattaya. Having lived in a moslem country before, it doesn't bother me. I have no antipathy to moslems per se, I just find their attitude to non moslems "difficult". Also some of their traditions can be off putting, eg. No pork, no alcohol. A bacon sarnie and a pint are a couple of my favourite indulgencies. Don't get me on to the lack of alcohol in JB, a major pain.
