  1. White folk only get in a spot of bother when there's video evidence. Explains why they wore hoods back in the good ole days. ‘Soho Karen’ Miya Ponsetto could skirt jail time under plea deal Miya Ponsetto — dubbed “Soho Karen” after she falsely accused a black teenager of swiping her cellphone at a Manhattan hotel — has struck a plea deal that would allow her to dodge jail time, it was revealed Monday. Ponsetto grabbed headlines after she was caught on video accusing Keyon Harrold Jr., 15 — the son of jazz trumpeter Keyon Harrold — of stealing her iPhone and then trying to tackle him in the lobby of the Arlo Soho Hotel on Dec. 26, 2020. It wasn’t her first brush with the law. Ponsetto had a charge of public intoxication dropped against her in Los Angeles over an alleged altercation in Beverly Hills in 2020. She was also charged for fighting with cops during a DUI arrest in an incident also caught on camera. https://nypost.com/2022/02/28/soho-karen-miya-ponsetto-could-skirt-jail-time-under-plea-deal/
  2. "Preferably"? You can do one, or the other, but not both. Can you share the reasons? Why? What are you really trying to accomplish? With more detail options amy present. Assume you've researched this already, and still have questions?
  3. Yes, thank you for this observation as we often forget, See also Tulsa Race Massacre, 1921, when mobs of white residents, some of whom had been deputized and given weapons by city officials, attacked Black residents and destroyed homes and businesses of the Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma, The massacre began during the Memorial Day weekend after 19-year-old Dick Rowland, a Black shoeshiner, was accused of assaulting Sarah Page, the 17-year-old white elevator operator in the nearby Drexel Building. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulsa_race_massacre Charge dropped against woman who made false claim to cops about Black man in Central Park NEW YORK (Reuters) - A New York judge on Tuesday dismissed a misdemeanor charge against a white New York City woman who became an internet video sensation last spring when she falsely claimed a Black man threatened her in Manhattan’s Central Park, prosecutors said. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-global-race-usa-new-york-idUSKBN2AG1Y7 Emmett Till, a young Black boy in Mississippi, turned 14 on July 25, 1955. Almost exactly one month later, he was brutally murdered after being accused of sexually harassing Carolyn Bryant, a white woman, in a grocery store. Till would have turned 79 today had he not been killed. The two white men accused of his murder were later found “not guilty” by an all-white, all-male jury. Four months after the trial, which took place in a segregated courtroom, the two men admitted to kidnapping and murdering Till in an interview with Look magazine. Because they had already been acquitted, they could not be tried again. Neither ever served time for Till’s death. https://innocenceproject.org/emmett-till-birthday-pervis-payne-innocent-black-men-slavery-racism/ Not justifying what Mr. Smollett did, but a suspended sentence, a fine and 2 years parole seems the the right (white?) sort of "justice".
  4. No. Is your "friend" into girls? Yikes! Plenty of videos of past year's events on Youtube. For those folks who want to see "moving" pictures.
  5. So big joke was quick to insert himself in this non-story? Hmm. https://aseannow.com/topic/1253011-thai-woman-claims-close-call-with-organ-trading-gang-in-cambodia/ Smart of him to steer clear of the Tangmo case.
  6. Section 93-1 sub-clause 1, paragraph one: all thais must return to thailand with the exact same number of hands that they left with.
  7. Yes, reading the most recent reviews indicates a fairly major issue https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.krungsri.kma&hl=en&gl=US&showAllReviews=true Maybe try turning Developer Options to OFF, and/or USB Debugging to OFF. And send an email to: [email protected] Bangkok Bank's mobile app suffered a similar issue not so long ago.
  8. Based on reports here and on FB, Customs/Excise started randomly enforcing the requirements for licensing on any devices with a radio, ~ 24 months back. Haven't seen any reports recently so assume complaints resulted in this practice being stopped. Perhaps as result of the eServices VAT agreement reached in October of last year? The country is gaining billions now in VAT so jeopardizing that by shaking down consumers would be an epic fail.
  9. Facebook. Just "think*" about unlimited data plans and voila, an unending barrage of resellers. *search. There all pretty much the same +/- a few baht as MSRP is controlled via their reseller contract, the more they sell the larger their discount, and the higher their margin. The first one on my feed right now Add-on packages to an existing SIM/account can be found on the provider's app.
  10. Oy vey. facepalm. Why ask here if you have a "friend"? We've answered questions. ATK test is acceptable. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/testing-international-air-travelers.html One single page, two questions answered,,, Test and Documentation Requirements You must be tested with a viral test to look for current infection – these include an antigen test or a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT). Phrases indicating a test is an antigen test could include, but not are not limited to: Rapid antigen test Viral antigen test Also, could be noted as Antigen Chromatographic Digital Immunoassay, Antigen Chemiluminescence Immunoassay, or Antigen Lateral Flow Fluorescence Examples of available NAATs for SARS-CoV-2 include but are not restricted to: Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) Isothermal amplification including: Nicking endonuclease amplification reaction (NEAR) Transcription mediated amplification (TMA) Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) Helicase-dependent amplification (HDA) Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) Strand displacement amplification (SDA) The test used must be authorized for use by the relevant national authority for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 in the country where the test is administered. A viral test conducted for U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) personnel, including DOD contractors, dependents, and other U.S. government employees, and tested by a DOD laboratory located in a foreign country also meets the requirements of the Order. Rapid tests are acceptable if they are a viral test that meet the requirements under the Order. Can get results in 15 minutes, in Bangkok - many, many, many places recommended here, just search, for 500 baht. Budget? Location?

  12. How many years have you been experiencing this problem? When was the last time you were back in the U.S.? Could you log in when there? The problem is exactly the same for years? Nothing has changed: same PC, browser, internet? Sometimes you can log in, sometimes you can't? Definitely a challenging issue to troubleshoot remotely. That said it's probably something simple. Try a different browser, clear cache, cookies, turn off all browser tools and extensions. Good luck sorting it out.
  13. Been there done that. Let us know how the 100 year anniversary of the Siamese Revolution of 1932 planning is going.
  14. Hopefully he doesn't accidentally fall from a higher floor. He called out police corruption - sure everyone knew about it - so you can understand that the rtp have an axe to grind. https://aseannow.com/topic/1207052-“elephant-ticket”-opposition-mp-accuses-police-officers-of-paying-bribes-for-promotions/ The police have quite a bit of power, and practically no oversight, so they don't really need the backing of the legal/justice system in order to arrest, charge anyone they don't like. And the judicial branch has no qualms about jailing perceived enemies of the state for a year without bail or trial. Shameful system and a bit of a joke. Not a big one though.
  15. Are entertainment establishments restricted from selling during these hours? I thought that it was only retail establishments? Can't say there'd be a big push for this change? Unless retailing giants like Charoen Pokphand Group and Central get behind it. I mean if they want it, they can get it.
  16. These "domestic" tourism stimulus packages have been fraught with corruption from day 1. Bribery, kickbacks, fraud, embezzlement. I think they could have accomplished something similar by utilizing the rainmaking planes to fly over spots and drop cash?
  17. Nothing says "equality" and "respect" like a bikini run. I say make them run in high heels. Extra points for tidying up along the route, and/or preparing dinner.
  18. "And if you mention extortion one more time I'll have you legs broken."
  19. I think that's the permanently docked aircraft carrier, HTMS Chakri Naruebet in the photo? CVH-911.
  20. Making that looming debt payment probably went a long way towards helping? Some Russia creditors have received dollar bond payment -sources https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/russia-says-its-order-pay-117-mln-eurobond-interest-fulfilled-2022-03-17/
  21. House Votes to End Russia’s Favored Trade Status With U.S. The U.S. House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to end regular trade relations with Russia in a move that would allow the U.S. to sharply raise tariffs on Russian goods entering the country. The bill, passed 424-8, would end what’s known as “permanent normal trade relations” for Russia, putting it in a category with pariah states North Korea and Cuba. The legislation, supported by President Joe Biden, would allow the U.S. to hit Russia with significantly higher tariffs than those it applies to other World Trade Organization members. The WTO has a core principle of treating all members equally. Eight Republicans voted against the bill: Representatives Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin; Thomas Massie of Kentucky; Matt Gaetz of Florida; Lauren Boebert of Colorado; Andy Biggs of Arizona; Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia; Chip Roy of Texas; Dan Bishop of North Carolina. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-03-17/house-votes-to-end-russia-s-favored-trade-status-senate-next
