Netanyahu rejects claims accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza
placeholder replied to CharlieH's topic in The War in Israel
Israel has clearly stated its intent to remain in Gaza. Even if that weren't the case, your comment is laughable. They're occupying portions of it now. -

The clams of genocide have to do with the Israeli conduct in this war.. Do you believe that the gestation period for Palestinians is just a couple of months? As for the children being in danger because of Hamas using "schools to hide weapons and rockets", I guess you believe they're out of danger now because schools aren't in session. -

Actually, under international law, as the occupying power they are. But if what you claim is true, then Israel could deny the entry of aid into Gaza and legally commit genocide. -

Just one in a long line of empty trolling comments from that party. Funny considering how the crybabies who supported Trump have been whining about a stolen election for the past 3 years. -

Children make up nearly half of Gaza's population. Here's what it means for the war. https://www.npr.org/2023/10/19/1206479861/israel-gaza-hamas-children-population-war-palestinians And you believe in capital punishment for those having vile beliefs? Should the same fate befall Israelis broadcasting their genocidal beliefs? -

Well, for one thing, because genocide is a crime. And as for most Gazans supporting Hamas, that wasn't even true when they won the election. And their popularity quickly went down. However, there was one nation whose help prove invaluable in supporting Hamas. That nation was Israel. -

It's how it's how Israelis will construe what netanyahu said. It's widely understood in Israel what this reference signifies. Clearly, not so widely understood by most non-israelis. -

Chris Christie was a successful governor? He ended up being almost universally loathed by New Jerseyans. As for Trump being a successful businessman, he destroyed his father's highly successful business and went on to bankrupt several other business. The thing that ultimately saved him was The Apprentice where he traded on the widely held but false belief that he was a great negotiator. As his multiple bankruptcies show, he massively overpaid for those businesses that went bankrupt. As for Biden, he was successful as a Senator, wasn't he. With lots of important legislative accomplishments. -

Here's a relevant quote from that widely subscribed to document known in some circles as the Old Testament: "Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘I have noted what Amalek did to Israel in opposing them on the way when they came up out of Egypt. 3 Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’ (1 Samuel 15:2–3 ESV) https://intotheword.ca/view/why-did-god-command-the-absolute-destruction-of-the-amalekites Saul subsequently incurred God's disfavor for not quite fulfilling his commandment. -

Also, Netanyahu actually invoked Amalek after this agreement was reached. So, it doesn't seem like there was anything in the way of humane feeling that prompted his retreat. Just to be clear, the quotation below explains that invoking Amalek means to Israelis. Not a quote from Netanyahu. He doesn't have to explain what that means. Netanyahu's references to violent biblical passages raise alarm among critics "The biblical commandment is to completely destroy all of Amalek. And when I'm talking about completely destroy, we're talking about killing each and every one of them - including babies, including their property, including the animals - everything." https://www.npr.org/2023/11/07/1211133201/netanyahus-references-to-violent-biblical-passages-raise-alarm-among-critics -

Actually, what's far more plausible is that the article stated "If Israel was going to proceed in its mission to destroy Hamas, it had to allow aid to reach civilians, Blinken told Netanyahu. He also made clear what was hanging in the balance: a visit from President Joe Biden, the prospect of which had leaked to the Israeli media but had yet to be formalized. A visit from Biden represented a critical gesture of support—and significant leverage." Has anyone ever accused Netanyahu of ever succumbing to a decent humanitarian urge when it comes to the Palestinians? -

Apart from Netanyahu's Amalek comments, which show clear genocidal intent. here's an article that purports to chronicle the negotiations between Netanyahu and his unity cabinet and Blinken during the days after the Oct 7 attack. Basically, it took a lot of arm twisting to get Netanyahu and company to agree to any shipments of aid at all to Gaza. Another piece of evidence that shows genocidal intent. For Antony Blinken, the War in Gaza Is a Test of U.S. Power https://time.com/collection/davos-2024-ideas-of-the-year/6551990/antony-blinken-israel-gaza-us-power/ -

Well, Trump's lawyers did a very good job of delaying the trials. On the one hand his company, The Trump Organization, was charged with 17 criminal counts. But on the other hand, it was only convicted of 17 out of 17. And he lost his civil trial to Jean Carroll. -
