  1. Actually, it's the hand washing that's probably useless, at least in regards to covid. Covid is mostly, if not entirely, spread by inhalation.
  2. It turns out that people who have been vaccinated for smallpox are quite protected against monkeypox as well. Britain offers smallpox shot as monkeypox cases spread in Europe So, just because a vaccine wasn't designed for a particular variant of a virus, doesn't mean it can't provide powerful protection against a variant of that virus There isn't a specific vaccine for monkeypox, but a smallpox vaccine does offer some protection, a UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) spokesperson said. Data shows that vaccines that were used to eradicate smallpox are up to 85% effective against monkeypox, according to the World Health Organization. https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/britain-offers-smallpox-shot-monkeypox-cases-spread-europe-2022-05-19/
  3. The resale value of EV's seems to depend largely on range. So EVs that have a limited range decline in value by a far larger percentage than do those with longer range. "According to KBB, models having operating ranges of over 200 miles are holding their values the best in the resale market. The Bolt EV is rated at 238 miles, with the I-Pace at 234 miles and the e-tron promising 248 miles. This effectively nixes the so-called range anxiety that tends to plague owners of older EVs that could only muster 100 or fewer miles per charge." https://www.myev.com/research/buyers-sellers-advice/electric-vehicles-with-the-best-resale-values-for-2019
  4. Here's an actual link to the article. https://www.autoinsuranceez.com/gas-vs-electric-car-fires/ It seems that most fires occur after collisions. So it's not spontaneous combustion that seems to be the main issue. Also, BYD, a major chinese ev manufactures now uses blade batteries. They are extremely fire resistant. Solid State batteries, which are just barely beginning to be used in EVs, don't have flammable liquid electrolytes which are the main cause of fires in the batteries of EVs.
  5. As far as I've been able to determine, only a few state governments mandate that. not the Federal govt.
  6. You could well be right about the cocaine. I've been shamefully lax in consuming the stuff here in Thailand and elsewhere. But did you read the moderator's comment that the "mother" said she was in the UK but the ISP was actually located in Bangkok?
  7. Actually, the first thing that made it suspect to me was the fact that of all the ethnicities out there, it happened to be Ukrainian. Which, for obvious reason, is one very likely to elicit sympathy. The kind of person who would concoct such a ruse is someone who needs to feel smarter than others in order to compensate for strong feelings of inferiority. If, as is likely, such a person has another avatar on aseannow.com, you'll find that they uses denigrating words to characterize those that they disagree with. This person might even explicitly characterize themself as being more intelligent than others.
  8. I think it disappeared because the powers that be judged it to be fake. The person who wrote it as the Ukrainian mother of this guy said her English wasn't good but really not the case. It read more like some who was a native speaker of English trying incompetently to make it look like the words were written by a foreigner. And then there's the fact that this person claimed her son had already been tried and convicted in a very short space of time. That's not how things work. And finally, there's the fact that this alleged mother made no mention of coming here herself.
  9. Labor reaches majority Frank Chung Frank Chung Our election tally now has Labor with 77 seats. https://www.news.com.au/national/federal-election/federal-election-live-seatbyseat-results/live-coverage/0d9b066f667c46152dce1bc4ff16316a
  10. Saylor wasn't found guilty of a crime. He paid a fine to the SEC of $350,000 and had to disgorge over 8 million dollars of ill-gotten gains. But he didn't have to acknowledge wrongdoing. He's clearly a life but legally speaking, not a convicted criminal. https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/business/2000/12/15/saylor-associates-settle-fraud-charges/a69bcb25-99d4-4018-9f9f-0eb0e22f37b3/
  11. So, apparently, for no relevant reason, you introduced a piece of information about his national origin that suggests the possibility of unethical behavior on his part? That sounds believable.
  12. Oh right. The problem you're predicting that's going to arise due to your "strong feeling based on experiences". It is to laugh.
  13. Glad to oblige: https://heinonline.org/HOL/LandingPage?handle=hein.journals/ylr72&div=53&id=&page=
  14. Racist because you mentioned it in a sentence that suggested that he this CEO might attempt to conceal information. Yoking his ethnicity and possibly unethical activity together in one sentence can't help but be viewed as casting aspersion on his background. Unless, of course, you can offer an alternative explanation of why it was relevant to mention this person's country of origin.
  15. There is one significant error in my post above. Under Delaware Law, the verdicts at corporate trials are decided by a presiding judge. So this is further bad news for Musk since a judge is far less likely than a jury to be persuaded by proofs that twitter undercounted bots since twitter routinely offered a disclaimer as the accuracy of its estimates. A judge will be familiar with the technicalities of corporate law as it is established in Delaware.
  16. This addition to the the Ukrainian armory will, I think both figuratively and literally sink the Russians. Exclusive: U.S. aims to arm Ukraine with advanced anti-ship missiles to fight Russian blockade The White House is working to put advanced anti-ship missiles in the hands of Ukrainian fighters to help defeat Russia's naval blockade, officials said, amid concerns more powerful weapons that could sink Russian warships would intensify the conflict. Ukraine has made no secret it wants more advanced U.S. capabilities beyond its current inventory of artillery, Javelin and Stinger missiles, and other arms. Kyiv's list, for example, includes missiles that could push the Russian navy away from its Black Sea ports, allowing the restart of shipments of grain and other agricultural products worldwide. https://www.reuters.com/world/exclusive-us-aims-arm-ukraine-with-advanced-anti-ship-missiles-fight-russian-2022-05-19/
  17. I use GrandDent. The doctor who does crowns and implants speaks excellent english and he clearly loves his work and will go to great lengths to explain what he's doing. Like most of the dentists catering to farangs, he uses very high quality crowns. Anyway, here's a link http://www.granddentdental.com/ Also, a dentist at another clinic recommended I get an implant. I got a second opinion from the dentist at GrandDent and he said I only needed a crown. So I saved about 50,000 baht.
  18. It's not a sign of the Russian economy's strength that the ruble has risen so much. Quite the contrary.
  19. My mistake. I thought yours was just a feeling. It turns out it's a "strong feeling". And it's "based on experiences". And all I've got to back me up is the virtually unanimous opinion of experts in the field. Clearly the odds favor an anonymous someone who has a "strong feeling" that is "based on experiences". In opposite world.
  20. I'm making assumptions? Gee, I'm the one basing my arguments on a "feeling"? A "feeling"? Really?
  21. Even if there were evidence to back that up as a general statement about Indian people, and as far as I know there isn't, grandpapillon didn't provide such evidence, It's extremely unlikely that Agrawal's could have risen so far were he inclined to do anything that contravened the advice of expert and expensive counsel.
  22. I also wonder why he put "Indian born" in quotes. I do because I'm quoting him but he wasn't quoting from the article which I don't believe even mentioned Agrawal's ethnicity.
  23. And why did you mention that the CEO of Twitter is "Indian born"?
