Heathrow CEO Slept Through Major Power Outage as Phone Was on Silent
Patong2021 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Fine. how do you know it is a "bullet proof vest"? I appreciate that you are elderly, but body armor does not look like that. Executive body protection is always discrete and consists of the kevlar shell with a trauma pad, with some options including ceramic plates over critical organs. The man is wearing a puffer vest. I have one. It is for mild weather and is ideal for wearing under a jacket. -
Report New Covid-19 Variant NB.1.8.1 Gains Ground in Thailand

What evidence do you have to support the claim that the "mildness" is because of the virus itself and not from the immunity in the population and the large die off of people who were most at risk of infection, so that they are no longer present in the population? -
Report New Covid-19 Variant NB.1.8.1 Gains Ground in Thailand

No I am not. The data supports my comment. I was specific in respect to the introduction of the virus. Thais did not introduce the virus in large quantities. It was initially brought in by foreigners. With time, Thai people who were infected, spread the disease locally. However, for the first 6 months of the crisis, infections primarily were imported by Chinese, Iranian and European visitors. It is once the infections became established that local transmission exploded. Influencing factors of COVID-19 spreading: a case study of Thailand: Kraichat Tantrakarnapa , Bhophkrit Bhopdhornangkul , Kanchana Nakhaapakorn We found that the number of tourist and their activities were significant associated with number of infected, confirmed COVID-19 cases. The public education and social supporting were the key roles for regulation enforcement and implementation. It is generally accepted that visitors from three countries acted as initial introduction agents around the world; China, Iran and italy. The Italian infections are believe to have originated in Milan, during fashion week when infected Chinese visitors arrived and infected attendees who then spread the disease when the they returned home , with Italy being the center of European exposure. Ko Samui is popular with italians and infected Italians arrived to infect other visitors who were primarily European. These people brought the infections back to italy. The same model played out in Austria, where UK nationals on skiing holidays were exposed and brought the infections back to the UK. The Lancet published a detailed explanation; https://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099(20)30581-8/fulltext The Telegraph discussed the Italian influence. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/travellers-italy-brought-covid-19-one-four-virus-hit-countries/ -

It is a puffer vest. Very infashion at the time. It is a lightweight equivalent of a sweater but more efficient and lighter. -
Report New Covid-19 Variant NB.1.8.1 Gains Ground in Thailand
Patong2021 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Covid deaths are under reported in Thailand. Unless an autopsy is performed the cause of death of a person is not really identified. Thailand, as a practice does not perform autopsies unless the death is suspicious in nature (e.g. crime, suicide) or occurs while in custody of the police. Most of the elderly who die of complications brought on by Covid are not classified as dying because of Covid if they die outside of the healthcare system. It is only when they are admitted to a hospital or have been officially diagnosed that the death is counted. It is not necessarily a lot milder. Rather, vaccination and previous exposure has allowed a better immune system response. The illness is still severe in the unvaccinated high risk population. The Thai people who do not seek medical assistance, like the rural elderly, and who die, are often tabulated as natural deaths, i.e. old age. The believe that foreigners were high risk vectors of Covid was valid. It was the foreign visitor who brought the diseases to much of Thailand. This was demonstrated by the Ko Samui infections. The Europeans imported the disease, and then infected other Europeans who returned to Europe with the infection. They also infected the local hospitality staff, who fortunately stayed in Ko Samui. This model of transmission was also observed in Phuket. With Europeans infecting the other visitors brought the infection back to their homelands. And of course there were the Chinese who left a trail of infections. The disease was not homegrown and was imported. -
Do tell. Did you do a head count? The demographics in Parkersburg skew to older people; 45% over the age of 45. Overall, 23% are over age 65. It is 99% white. The video I saw was older white people, which follows the city demographic. It looks like you missed what Ernst said, Ernst made clear Friday that any measure that emerges from the Senate will look different from the House version. If the Senate does not pass the House Bill and instead changes the Bill, then the Trump big and beautiful Bill won't get passed. The House barely agreed on the Bill it sent to the Senate. It is unlikely that it would agree to the Senate changes. Looks like you will be having TACOs for dinner hombre.

It is not a question of lying. Rather, it is your attempt to understand and to cope with a traumatic event. Having an "answer" provides emotional comfort. The reality of cancer is is that it is a genetically induced event. The genetic basis is caused either through deficient or otherwise defective genetic material. It can have existed since conception or it could have been induced by environmental exposures such as radiation, chemicals and other cell damaging agents. Many of the injuries alleged to be associated with the Covid vaccines have nothing to do with the vaccines and instead are named only because the person with the issue had the vaccine. In almost all of these cases, there is no genetic testing to determine if the "injured" party had a pre-existing genetic disposition to the claimed injury. In other cases, the health and behavioural characteristics of the injured party are not stated. We hear of "heart attacks", but what is not mentioned is whether or not the person was obese, a smoker, had an existing chronic disease like diabetes, high blood pressure , high lipid and cholesterol counts etc. There are adverse reactions associated with every drug and vaccine. here is an adverse reaction when consuming alcohol too. Almost all drug ADRs are minor. Some are serious, but the people who are most likely to have a serious ADR almost always have an underlying medical condition, known or unknown, that heightens the risk of an ADR. The reality is that hundreds of millions of Covid vaccine doses have been administered, and tens of millions of people have avoided serious covid infections resulting in hospital stays or even death. There may have been a small number of serious ADRS and this is both expected and understood. However, the fact is that there has been no great die off or cascade of injured people as the covid vaccine opponents claim. The Covid vaccines are proven by the results to be some of the safest vaccines in history.

Heathrow CEO Slept Through Major Power Outage as Phone Was on Silent

He was not needed and would not have been up to date on the technical aspects involved. The right person , the COO was available and it was the COO who was responsible for implementing the resilience plan. -

There was no need to chase down the CEO. The key person was available and overseeing the response. The COO Javier Echave had the authority to act and was in a better position to act because the COO is responsible for operations. The Heathrow COO is accountable for delivering Heathrow’s end-to-end operation including airfield, engineering and baggage, security, terminal services, business resilience and operational planning. The CEO is not a technical person, and is almost a business/legal person better suited to administration and governance issues. -

They are criminals and should be treated accordingly. It is quite obvious that you do not understand the depth of depravity that dope fiends will partake to get their "fix". Don't be like Marty or Stan shown in the short film below. -
Tourism Cambodia Outshines Thailand in Race for Chinese Tourists
Patong2021 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Everyone is so eager to criticize Thailand, that they did not look at the tourism data and are missing the big picture. Cambodia has historically done well in the first quarter, and then tails off during the year. Cambodia is not outshining anyone. The data speaks for itself; 2024 Chinese visitors Cambodia 850, 000 v. Thailand 6,200,000 (6.73 million according to some Chinese sources ( https://english.news.cn/20250209/d7431a710b2a4ef28f2a798b16fcbd39/c.html) Yes, the 2025 numbers are down for Thailand. Yes, more Chinese visitors are going to Cambodia. BUT, but the increase is nothing to celebrate or to get excited about. Hun Dany, a secretary of state and spokeswoman for the Ministry of Tourism, said Cambodia is expected to attract more than 1 million Chinese tourists in 2025. Yes, it is a large increase for Cambodia, but it it is still a small number. https://en.people.cn/n3/2025/0408/c90000-20299026.html#:~:text=Cambodia is expected to attract, year increase of 55 percent. The Chinese are not traveling as much as they used to. And the Chinese who do travel are looking for a different experience. The hot destinations are Japan, South Korea and Europe. Europe is like visiting 4 destinations at once, Africa, SE Asia, the Middle East and old Europe. The loss of revenue will be collected from other visitors through extra charges and increased costs, so , not excellent news. What good work? The Chinese are not swarming Cambodia. How do you propose replacing the revenue and and will you take care of the workers who depend on the Chinese tourists? -
Unsubstantiated claim. He provided not supporting documentation. NOTHING. He is already being sued for previous statements and it seems that this is an attempt to influence the legal proceedings. In December 2024, Meiji Seika Pharma filed a lawsuit against Kazuhiro Haraguchi, a House of Representatives member from the Constitutional Democratic Party, saying his comments on the firm’s new COVID-19 vaccine have greatly damaged its reputation. The pharmaceutical company, which manufactures a next-generation COVID-19 vaccine known as the replicon vaccine, is seeking ¥10 million in damages, according to media reports. Haraguchi's comments that the vaccine is "akin to a biological weapon" are unfounded and cannot be tolerated, the firm said in a news conference Wednesday. "As (he is a) member of parliament, with immunity from arrest and various other privileges, I believe this situation cannot be left unaddressed any longer," Daikichiro Kobayashi, president of Meiji Seika Pharma said. He also stated that a member of parliament making statements about a government-approved vaccine that go beyond the bounds of opinion or critique has a significant impact, and if left unaddressed, could undermine the foundation of science communication, according to a report by NHK. It is dishonest to post information without context.

Sorry to read of your congenital defect. Although rare, you are not alone. Some people born with tails keep their tails for many years, while some parents opt to remove their baby's tail at birth. In some cases, it's not entirely apparent that the tail is a true tail until years later. Our thoughts and prayers for a solution to your deformity.

No, I am not playing your game. You post inaccurate and intentionally misleading statements. As soon as your claims are refuted, you offer another inaccurate and unreliable claim. You attempted to to push the false information that the Covid 19 virus was not isolated and that its genome not identified. When the false information was exposed, you did not acknowledge the that you were wrong. Instead, you go off on another route. This is not about a rational exchange of ideas, rather it is your attempt to promote and push your ignorant socio-political view on others. Your response is like that of a troll chat program and I am not wasting time with it.

Mold and fungi: it thrives in damp warm places. You won't know about it until you strip the unit down, and by then it may be impossible to really remediate. Once mold and fungi establish themselves it is a time consuming and expensive process to get rid of it, especially if the water source is not eliminated. Structural damage: A building exposed to long term water damage will most likely suffer structural damage. Concrete degrades over time too. This is why some jurisdictions require a periodic building integrity inspection. Thailand does not have these inspections. Consider the fact that the water damage was known by the building managers and condo association and it appears they did nothing. That's a red flag. If they ignored this problem what other issues did they ignore? For all you know, deferred maintenance could be creating a future repair assessment. The building manager should have a log of the location and description of the defects and their causes, which can contribute to the development of dangerous structural conditions (infiltrations, rust, efflorescence, scaling, cracks, etc.) as well as all other problems. There should be a record that holds the description of the work remedial actions called for as well as the schedule recommended for performing these, if applicable. If this is not available, that is another red flag that says, maintenance has not been done.

Don't Eat Jew Food! Says Hamas leader from...Beirut
Patong2021 replied to Hanaguma's topic in Political Soapbox
Gazans are not starving. They have more than enough energy to rampage and loot the food shipments. In all of the videos coming from Gaza, they have enough energy to moan and groan, and yet no one is particularly thin or emaciated. Compare the images to the people of the Darfur who have been experiencing hardship. Those are starving people. Hamas does not want the aid to come in because it is contrary to the narrative of suffering. -

Serves her right for visiting China. There is no rule of law, no habeas corpus when it comes to foreigners, it is a lot like the USA in that respect. -
Another misleading claim presented as valid information. As usual, no one bothered to read the document. And as usual, the study is taken out of context. The Study being cited here has yet to be reviewed. The study was not designed to compare the risk of influenza-associated hospitalization or mortality, or to examine if the vaccine decreased severity of illness. The Cleveland study excluded children and elderly subjects and primarily consisted of individuals who were healthy enough to be employed. It is unlikely it included any significant number of severely immunocompromised subjects. This is the opposite of the general population. High risk groups are recommended to be vaccinated, the elderly, children and the immunocompromised. Nor does the study address the fact that the vaccines intent is to primarily reduce the risk of death or severe disease The misinterpretation and stupid claims arising from the idiots who are using the review to denounce flu vaccines prompted one of the authors to put the review in context and to denounce those who are misapplying the study. Nabin Shrestha, a physician and coauthor of the study, said although the results found an increased risk of influenza among vaccinated participants, the authors understood that the increased risk “could have been from an unrecognised factor” and, therefore, did not conclude that the vaccine increases infection risk. Shrestha also said the study did not suggest that the influenza vaccine should be pulled from the market because it makes people more likely to get the flu. “Overall, the flu vaccine is an important public health tool,” he said. The Cleveland study conclusion is contrary to the CDC data, which is national and based upon a significantly larger population size. The CDC data supports the conclusion; Vaccination with the 2024–2025 influenza vaccine reduced the risk for influenza-associated outpatient visits and hospitalization. These findings support recommendations that all eligible persons aged ≥6 months should receive an annual influenza vaccination. Vaccination should be offered as long as influenza viruses are circulating. https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/74/wr/pdfs/mm7406a2-H.pdf - The flu vaccine is not always effective because it is based in part on what previous year flu virus experience was and what is seen as it occurs in its seasonal waves. This is no surprise and is an acknowledged reality. - The vaccine efficacy was public knowledge going back to October 2024. Oct. 4, 2024 – The CDC says the influenza vaccine being used this flu season might be less effective than the one used last flu season, based on reports of how well the vaccine is working in five South American countries. The seasonal flu vaccine cut the risk of hospitalization for high-risk groups by 35% in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay, the CDC said. Last flu season, the vaccine had a 51.9% effectiveness in those countries.
