  1. The Woke? On the contrary, it is anyone but the woke supporting the alleged murderer. He is being cast as a champion of the working people by the alt right. Instagram is now overflowing with fangirls, and the latest this morning is that Luigi is allegedly bisexual, so naturally the gay influencers are falling over themselves to offer their adoration. We saw the same thing occur with the mass murderer at the Boston marathon. People fixated on his dark brooding good looks. Since he was moved to the specialized Supermax Prison, he has morphed into a bloated hairy psychologically distressed man who has been abandoned by his former admirers. This will be the fate of Luigi the madman.
  2. Not exactly accurate. Trudeau may be unpopular, but so too is Poilievre and his constant negativity.Trudeau only has a 28% approval rating. Poilievre only manages a 37% approval rating. The electorate is an angry lot and they will deliver a result similar to what we just saw in the UK. However, instead of a massive Labour majority it will be Conservative. They people will not be voting for anyone in particular, but they will be voting against the status quo. https://angusreid.org/trudeau-tracker/ For a Canadian you sure are quite the fanatic follower of Trump. You don't seem loyal to your homeland if you are so blindly devoted to Trump that you do not see the harm that the Trump policies will induce.
  3. And my comment on the Ukraine thread was in respect to countries NOT going to war over border disputes. It is still valid today. And no matter what Trump says or does, the Canada -USA relationship is one of the closest in the world. It has to be, because of the trading relationship. Trump can say and do what he wants. He will be in office for no more than 4 years. Canada has gone through hostile US administrations before. Trump isn't going to war and he won't be bombing kindergartens like Putin. Nor will US mercenaries be stealing women's lingerie and home appliances or torturing people as the Russians have done in Ukraine.
  4. It will not be smooth sailing. Aside from US federal approvals, state approvals are needed, and then there are local approvals at the county and municipal levels. Just as Republican activists filed lawsuits, so ttoo will those opposed to the Republican agenda.
  5. But that is not the case. As of November 2024 it costs $169 billion to maintain the debt, which is 13% of the total federal spending in fiscal year 2025. Government revenue is income received from taxes and other sources to pay for government expenditures. The U.S. government has collected $629 billion in fiscal year 2025. I agree that 26.7% of revenues for debt service is high. However, the cost of carrying debt will decrease as interest rates decrease. As of October 2024, the average interest rate on the U.S. federal debt is 3.30% https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/americas-finance-guide/government-revenue/ I do agree that high debt is not a good position. Unfortunately, some of Trump's biggest backers are the people who provide the funding for the national debt or who make a living from debt transactions.
  6. The man is famous. I have had 6 Instagram video suggestions in the past 5 hours.
  7. Rarely drink beer now. Unnecessary carbs. Don't miss it, and don't miss the acid reflux, the bloated feeling, the idiocy of drinking a bottle and then watching it leave a short time after. I might as well flush my money down the loo.
  8. Vermont maple syrup is now better quality. Most of the Canadian maple syrup comes from Quebec and it seems to be watered down. Gone is the density of the old days (like 5 years ago). No they do not. There are some people yes, but a closer look reveals that they are the people who were unable to emigrate to the USA. Canadians as a whole are rather nationalistic despite their bs that they are polite, humble etc. He started up again. It is rather infantile calling the Prime Minister, Governor multiple times and Canada the 51st state. Trump is about to have Canada open a big can of whoop. Most Americans are unaware that their energy security relies on Canadian oil and electricity. No peak time electricity means that the USA can and will go dark. The Republican midwest oil refineries are set up to process the thick Canadian crude. If they lose the access, a lot of Republican voters will be impacted. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/doug-ford-ontario-premiers-meet-justin-trudeau-1.7407948 Ontario powered 1.5 million homes in the U.S. in 2023 and is a major exporter of electricity to Michigan, Minnesota and New York. Upstate New York relies on the Ontario electricity and it is where Stefanik and Homan are from. Turn off Hydro Quebec's electricity and the east coast of the USA from Maine to Florida goes dark. Trump can have fun with candles and a flashlight when he goes for a pee at 1 AM.
  9. When you suffer a catastrophic injury and require access to state of the art surgical procedures and a support network, you will have a different view.
  10. He wants to rent. The condo fees are the owners issue after the lease is made. You have great confidence in the fire department. Assuming the FD arrives within 20 minutes, and assuming they can get their ladders extend to the 4th or 5th floor, and assuming they can hook up some water and find a way to boost the water pressure to get the water past the 5th floor, have you ever checked out the emergency exits in the building? You know, stuff like a secure fire escape stairway, emergency lighting that works. I have zero confidence in most of the high rise building safety characteristics. I won't stay higher than the 5th floor if I can help it. Sometimes there are power outages in Hua Hin. I cna easily handle a 5 storey climb a couple times a day. I can't do 15 flights with groceries. I learnt the hard way in patong.
  11. That's why there is birth control.
  12. Looks like the photos rely on some potent blue filters. Amzing how the air pollution haze has been edited out.
  13. I was in Phuket at the time. Many people did not get off the aircraft.
  14. Your hyperbole is baseless. That might be the case on the cheap discount flights from Europe to Turkey, the ones that feature the fights and the diversions, but it is most certainly not the case on the major airlines. Most passengers are not stoned or inebriated when departing, despite the urban myth. Yes, some people are, but they are the small minority. First off, champagne is not served in the non premium classes. Nor is alcohol served until the aircraft is at cruising altitude and out of a turbulence zone. I don't know how often you fly, but as a frequent flyer in premium class, the alcohol service has been cut back over the years. The complementary champagne pre takeoff that some airlines serve is less than 100 ml. If people are showing up to flights stoned to oblivion, then they pick the option of burning alive when the plane has a failed takeoff. I just don't need them in my way counting unicorns and rainbows, delaying my quick exit.
  15. In awe of diabolical tyrants much? You praise Assad. He was kept in power because of the presence of Hezbollah militia units. In 2017, 10,000 elite Hezbollah fighters were assigned to Syria. The number fluctuated over the years from a high of 20,000 to a low of 2000. Hezbollah provided the ground troops. Iran provided the missile battery units and Russia provided the air cover. Once Israel weakened Hezbollah, and pounded key Iranian missile batteries, the Syrian rebels took the opportunity to dispose of the Syrian army in a few days. If it was not for Israel's actions in south Lebanon, Syria would not have been liberated.
  16. How awful of you to excuse and justify the imprisonment, torture, and murder of hundreds of thousands of Syrians. As the inventory of horrors is made public, not a word from the community that took to the streets to complain about Israel. Young boys violently sodomized, men forced to to club each other to death, others having their limbs ripped off, garroted or crushed in presses. Ah yes, this is your perfect world. The Syrian people have a right to choose their destiny. If they choose the extremist option then they will suffer the consequences. If they choose the pragmatic peaceful option, then they will prosper. Syria is free today because of Israel. Has Israel not weakened Hezbollah and weakened the Iranian occupation, the Syrian people would not be breathing easier today.
  17. Nope. Europe is already saying no longer grounds for asylum.
  18. Surprised no one stated the obvious. Passengers can be prevented from flying if they appear to be impaired. This is for both safety and security reasons. If one is impaired, how do you expect to be able to be able to exit the the aircraft in the event of an emergency? Worse yet, if your reaction time is slowed, you can impede the exit of other passengers.
  19. Does anyone ever think these schemes through? Wellness: Oh sure, the Air Quality will really attract health focused visitor. Come choke with us. Enjoy some of the worst air quality in the world. Special promotion during burning season when you can come and sear and scar your lungs. I can envision the "special" baths promotion now: Come bathe in our feces infused water. It is just like India, except there won't be a half burnt corpse passing you by as you float blissfully. Thailand refuses to release water quality results for its main beaches, but we all know why. Does TAT really believe that Europeans who emphasize health are unaware of the sewage issues? Most visitors to Patong and Pattaya are unaware or don't care. The educated and wealthy will care. Luxury Experience: Yes, Thai hotels can be nice. Unfortunately, Thailand is still unable to offer potable water. A true luxury resort does not have to warn guests not to drink the water and to be careful with the ice. Guests need not fear electrocution while taking a shower. Towels won't have to be overly perfumed to cover up the wet dog stench from Thailand's water. Yes, Thailand has many excellent high quality hotels, but the higher end facilities are not up to the quality found in Singapore or Dubai. Thailand can't compete with them. Sports Tourism: WTF? With what facilities? Decrepit noisy jet skis and motorboats dragging a suspended parachute is not sports. Thailand would have to invest billions in facilities and unless it is a new golf course for the military it won't happen. Honeymoons: So the pig push for Indian honeymoon business fizzled? Maybe they can try for the Australian bogan and UK lager lout market next. Offer free rose or butterfly tats along with some extra wide shawls for the ladies and some barbed wire tats and prestained singlet shirts for the men and they might have something.
  20. FYI, This bar is actually on the corner of Rat U and Bangla across from the Tai Pan. This location is at the start of Bangla and not on the main strip. It is a high pedestrian traffic zone. Across the street, is a police box, usually staffed by some BiB. Last time I passed, the box appeared to be equipped with AC and a television upon which they would watch football. There are multiple plainclothes police walking around Bangla. I expect that if the coppers had attended we would have seen that too.
  21. Why worry? Until Trump's administration enacts the legislation or imposes its edicts it's an as is operation. And if the expected changes are as bad as claimed, then the outcome will be the best thing that can occur for those who are opposed to Trump. Financial pain and disarray will illustrate the folly of Trumpenomics. On the other hand, if the Trump policies are solid, then there will be national prosperity. Looks to me like there will be a positive outcome either way. The fact is, that trump has a mandate to act, and he will.
  22. And? What is your point? Do you have an article or did you just post a date for fun. I did find an article from the NY Post dated December 4, 2024 that corroborates the story here . https://nypost.com/2024/12/04/us-news/ucla-official-allegedly-put-jewish-applicants-on-no-hire-list-petition-claims/ This woman is a full blown deluded buffoon to have actually written " Israel is a colonial state that oppresses Palestinians and other vulnerable marginalized communities like the queer community." Israel is the only country in the region that has legal protections in place for the LGBQT2 community. 300,000+ turn out for Tel Aviv Pride. Quite a contrast to Istanbul where 100 turned up for Pride, of which 15 were attacked and arrested. No Pride in Damascus, Baghdad, Tunis, et al. And not a word from Madame Solidarity.
  23. The measles is still killing and leaving children brain damaged. All because the children were not vaccinated. The Flu severity depends on the variant circulating. Vaccination against the infection will keep the high risk people out of hospital and the funeral home. Updating the Covid vaccine for at risk groups will keep them out of hospital and the funeral home too. We have not yet seen the long term after effects of the Covid infections. Sometimes a disease can take years for the damage to manifest itself. For example, Chicken pox can be mild, but years later it can return as shingles and leave people in great pain for months. Syphilis symptoms can go away for a few years and then return making the brain swiss cheese.
  24. There are no striking parallels with the Penney case. Chauvin ; - Intentionally brutalized Floyd and violated the police department's use of force rules. - Floyd was already immobilized (handcuffed and lying face down) and detained when Chauvin assaulted him. Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck for 9 and 1/2 minutes, while 2 other police officers knelt on Floyd's back. 3 officers were on a handcuffed and motionless man. - For his final 2 minutes, Floyd was already knocked out and in heart failure with no pulse, and yet, Chauvin kept his knee on Floyd's neck. Penny subdued the deceased Neely on his own. Yes, he used a death hold that as a USMC can be argued was known to be deadly, but the argument was offered that because he was in fear of his life and the circumstances, there was no intent to do permanent harm.
  25. You obviously do not understand the US consumer. They want the cheap price. There is a reason why retailers like DollarTree and Walmart are popular. The majority of consumers put low cost over quality. It's nice that you want to use GDP per capita as an economic indicator, but you have intentionally left out a key factor: The need for the income to be higher in the USA and the gap between the haves and the have nots. The cost of healthcare and of basic necessities like home and auto insurance is much higher in the USA than in Canada. Individual GDP has to be higher in the USA because the total costs of living are higher. Canadians benefit from a public health insurance option and have access to better social benefit options. In the USA, wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few. In Canada, wealth is more equitably distributed. In plain language, the use of a per capita value is misleading because the wealth in the USA is not held by many individuals and is instead, held by a small number off people. A more accurate data point is the national GDP. The United States has the largest economy globally and Canada ranks 9th at US$2.015 trillion. Only the State of California has a larger GDP than Canada. Texas used to, but 2024 is expected to see Canada pass Texas based upon the strength of the Canadian oil sector. And for all the criticism of Trudeau, the Liberal government managed the last Trump tantrum and threat campaign very effectively. It was a national effort. All the provinces, the business community and the major political parties were all on the same team. It was a pan canadian effort. This time around, Pierre the Conservative party leader doesn't seem too interested in a Team Canada effort, and he is getting criticized for it too.
