  1. I am lazing on the beach in Brazil, waiting for Omicron to pass in Thailand. Meanwhile, the ladies are lining up to come visit me when I return. The married lady I am with here in Brazil is demanding 2 nights a week. Her married neighbor wants 1 night a week, plus trips abroad. A bar Mamasan is professing her eternal love for me on Facebook, and wants one night a week. Apparently, that’s all she can manage, she is booked the other six nights. Hmm.. that leaves three nights free, unless I double them up.
  2. Except that daily death counts are increasing, as would be expected with a surge of new infections.
  3. Except that there are many countries that are not moving on from Covid, due to mass infections, so, what's your point? Do you think France is moving on with 484,000 new infections today?
  4. https://www.co.grand.co.us/1083/County-Coroner “The County Coroner is responsible for investigating the cause and manner of deaths, issuing death certificates, and requesting autopsies. “ of course, the county coroner has no financial stake in the admitting diagnosis of a hospital patient.
  5. I miss those reports showing how many people are in hospitals.
  6. What is important is the number of people in hospitals, under medical care. If this number increases significantly, then you can throw “endemic” out the window.
  7. You are avoiding my question. 92% of Covid victims have a co-morbidity. Unless their medical condition precludes vaccination, wouldn’t you suggest they be vaccinated?
  8. Assuming a positive recommendation by a physician, wouldn’t you suggest that anyone with a co-morbidity get vaccinated, due to 92% of fatalities being those with a co-Mormidity?
  9. Didn’t they build a big new, unused section just a couple of years ago?
  10. Around January 1, dozens of people I knew had a positive diagnosis, so I left Pattaya. Are infections still rampant, or is this wave ramping down? Has the required ATK test to enter a restaurant bar been abandoned?
  11. If their physician informs them that they can vaccinate, you would agree that they should vaccinate, right?
  12. You are making my point for me. Most people think “endemic” = “small number of cases”.
  13. I have not seen any reports of Long Covid associated with Omicron, yet.
  14. You cannot choose to not have kidney disease. You can choose to be vaccinated. I am sure you would agree that anyone with a chronic disease should vaccinate.
  15. I will explain your confusion to you. You are not happy about Covid because of the restrictions the government imposes on you. And, yet, you minimize the significance of Covid because the government restrictions have been successful in minimizing casualties. It's kind of like saying that seat belts should be made optional because 20000 people died in car accidents. Obviously, without sealtbelts, many more would die. So, simply repeating internet stupidity about Covid allows you to forgo critical thinking.
  16. You can rationalize mass deaths all you want, you know what they say "one death is a tragedy, a million deaths is, a statistic."
  17. Because thousands are dying from Omicron right now, worldwide. Somebody else here estimated that Omicron is 4 times as infectious, but a quarter as lethal as Delta. That’s what the numbers show in the US. So, yeah, there are plenty of Herman Cain Award winners who posted about Omicron being “mild”, before they died of it.
  18. The question is: endemic at what level? For example, infections in the UK are down to 70,000 per day. We tend to think in terms of a wave, where 70,000 will drop to 40,000 and eventually down to the hundreds. But what if it lingers at 70,000 for weeks? Same with Thailand. If I have a 50-50 risk of catching Covid any time I go into a bar, endemic or not, Thailand will be dead for tourism. If "endemic" means small pockets that erupt from time to time, that's okay. The tourists won't care about that.
