  1. Very sad state of affairs when Thailand's 2 English langiage newspapers make no mention of this horrific accident 10 hours after Asean Now report it. Just look at the crap on their web pages that is more important than 14 human probably Thai lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. From the op's name he most likely lives in Korat. The meds he is seeking are for blood pressure and blood thinning I take clopidogrel. After a visit to the heart hospital in Khon Kaen, I was given PLATOGRIX 75MG. This is, according to the box, manufactured in France . Whether or not it does what it is supposed to do I do not know, It is however far far cheaper than the clopidogrel I was first given by Bangkok Hospital
  3. The price is 80baht. Anyone paying more to satisfy their ridiculous beliefs are totally stupid!
  4. In my rural village it is the same. Money paid out from a village fund when someone dies, as long as someone has been paying the dues. Rather than a specific payment each month, payments are made and collected, each time an insured member dies..
  5. Indeed, never mind the dozens of other passengers. They were deemed unimportant!
  6. I had a few 1 year renewals initially, so that my Alien Reg book filled up quickly. Police have no idea where to obtain a new book from. For the past 15 years I have each 5 yrar renewal attached a piece of paper inside the book for the photo and signature etc to be placed.. Never a problem
  7. Perhaps the driver who swerved into an inner lane, should have been there all the time.. In many recent trips in Isaan, I would estimate that at least 50% of all motorists continually stay in the outer lane of dual carriageways, causing many motorists to "undertake", with many of those that do so, immediately themselves returning to the outside lane, even when the road ahead is totally clear! Thais will rarely, if ever, obey rules, and it necessary to force them to do so, with large fines and vehicle confiscation. That of course needs the police to be present and do their job properly. Sadly it will never happen, and the Thai road carnage will continue ad infinitum!
  8. Many many years ago I asked my neighbour to cut his overhanging bamboo. He duly came into my garden, cut numerous bamboo poles, stripped them all of leaves and minor branches then left with the poles. Refused to clean up the mess. That night I threw all the leaves and everything else over the fence into his garden. He has not spoken to me ever since!!!!!!!!! Some weeks later he cut down all his bamboo!
  9. Thais with bank deposits of more than 500,000baht will not receive the payment. I can see a lot of withdrawals before the cut off date, with cash being kept "under the bed"
  10. Nobody, absolutely nobody, need EVER pay a fine or lose the use of their vehicle IF they simply obey the rules. The big fine and confiscation is there just as a threat and needs to be used against the total idiots!
  11. But seriously, not 100/200bt fine. Have a 1 month advertising blitz, then fine everyone not wearing a helmet 10,000bt (whether 1,2 3 or 4 on the bike) AND confiscate the bike for minimum 1 month. Turbans not accepted. A helmet or walk!
  12. Conceivably the neighbours turned on him with the scissors!
  13. It means (to me at least) that these murdering scum will NEVER have a life outside of prison, which is more on a par with those they have murdered who will also never have a life again. Why should a murderer ever have something more than his/her victim will have? If the victim is dead, then so should the murderer be too!
  14. I would imagine there would not be so much support for death sentences if, in cases that would otherwise warrant a death sentence, the guilty party was sentenced to WHOLE LIFE IMPRISONMENT, in harsh and not holiday camp conditions, with absolutely no parole EVER for any reason.
  15. A death sentence is given to those who themselves act in a barbaric and inhumane way towards their victims. Provided there is indisputable proof of their guilt, ie CCTV, caught in the act etc, then keep it, and reintroducce the death penalty in other countries. As for deterring crime, those who are executed will never offend again!
  16. Nor do murderers, terrorists, those that commit crimes possessing deadly weapons and child abusers amongst many others!
  17. Sunday is a huge day up in Buriram with the last day of MotoGP, when thousands of visitors/tourists will be watching. Alas no beer! Does the government want tourists or not?
  18. Those that want to abstain from alcohol on this day or the preceeding 3 months have done so. Don't inflict religious beliefs and restrictions on everyone. Not all Thais believe in Buddhism these days and many of those that do will be drinking as usual.
