Do note however that when the new passport is returned to VFS Bangkok, and is available for collection, their normal office hours ..Monday to Friday from 08.30 -14.10 hours..do not apply. According to the message you will receive--- passports can only be collected between 14.00-16.00 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus they CANNOT be couriered back to the applicant! That is so helpful and useful for those that live a very long way from Bangkok and would like to do it in one day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buriram man killed by friend in liquor dispute, community in shock
prakhonchai nick replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Previous incidents included breaking someone’s ribs and slashing another’s throat, though none had been fatal. Each time Bunchoet was jailed for a few months Therein lies the problem. Jailed for a few months!!!!, Slashing another's throat warranted a death sentence! Too late for Supot, sadly! -

10million baht loans netting 4-5 million baht monthly interest. A nice little earner.Interest charged at 40/50% a month Are people really that desperate that they would pay so much interest for a loan? -

Best thing I did was after 3 years to apply for permanent residency. No messing with 90 day reports, annual extensions or money seasoned in the bank. I also have a lifetime Thai driving licence. -

Came here 38 years ago...........moved lock stock and barrel. Had a house built just up a soi from Jomtien beach..no tourists then, beach deserted. Relocated to Isaan 23 years ago Bought a house. Have a basic understanding of Thai language and speak it when necesary. Best not to understand here in Isaan as all the locals will try and tap you up for a loan My answer to all requests "mai cowjai". Been back to my home country 3 times each for 2/3 weeks. Could never return... Not the country I grew up in. Overwhelmed with non natives. Here to stay. What would I have changed? Nothing much. May have kept my house in the UK had I not needed the money. -
Application will be made at VFS Office who act for HMPO. As your son is 18, he should be able apply in his own right, but will need Father's Full birth certificate (the long one) to prove his entitlement to British nationality. If no have, a copy is available from the General Register Office for around £10

Thai-ed up: British man’s terrifying prison ordeal in Thailand
prakhonchai nick replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
What a shame the UK prison system does not treat its prisoners the same way, instead of locking THem into a holIDay camp environment. A prison sentence is - or should be - PUNISHMENT! -

I have fun at the Makro meat weighing counter. I put my food on the conveyor, (behind others if it is busy), wait and watch. Invariably Thais will arrive and put their bags on the conveyor somewhere in the middle (on top of other bags) rather than at the end, I smile, pick up their bags and throw them to the back of the conveyor.🤣 -

Richard Burrows, Phuket's 'Peter Smith', faces 30 more charges
prakhonchai nick replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Since the alleged offences occurred in a childrens home, it is to be assumed children were involved. Such offences if they occurred warrant a death sentence. Are any of the UK election candidates supporting reintroduction of the death penalty? -

Best he died with no jail involved. -
Fully appreciated Tony. Why however should Thai citizens receive more favourable treatment than UK subjects when it comes to returning documents concerning the UK. Brits in Thailand are always 2nd class citizens, but seems these days in the UK, they play 2nd fiddle to just about everyone in the world!
