Most of the others arrested/accused for lese majeste violations have been locked up -no bail - until their court hearings. Whilst I disagree with that treatment, as long as it continues one can only hope that nobody so accused is treated any differently no matter who they are or who they know.

The money is not usually "spent" It is invariably used to pay off some of the debt the parents have often incurred through laziness to work and gambling. Once the honeymoon is over the hands will be out again for more help for the parents. ONly occasionally in my area is it ever given back to the happy couple.

It just sets a pattern for everyone else.. Its the daughters and their parents that will lose out in the long run.

Note that officially, the Pink Card is only able to be used in the province of issue. Despite that I have used my Pink card in many other provinces, when checking into hotels. The usual hold up is in getting an appointment to submit. If you are available all and any day, no problem, but want a specific tme to submit on a particular day, you may need to wait 2 weeks.

As I have repeatedly said, both on this forum and elsewhere, anyone (and I do mean ANYONE of any race. religion or whatever) found in possession of a deadly weapon in public (other than those so authorised) should be locked up for a minimum of 10 years. Anyone using a deadly weapon to threaten, harm or kill, regardless of the outcome should receive the death penalty.

My son was locked up in the Immigration jail for several days whilst his deportation was arranged. I understand all foreign "criminals" who are locked up are subsequently deported. He was caught working without a permit...Hardly a criminal act!
