  1. To quote Dr. Jean Gray: '....we are now seeing the beginnings of another stage of human evolution.".
  2. "But the crux of the matter is NATO defined an extremely clear objective - which was to "drive Russians back to pre-invasion lines" to directly quote Anthony Blinken - and that failed miserably despite their unprecedented efforts. Which means that the West is much less powerful than they thought they were, they just couldn't collectively defeat Russia. This has immense implications. NATO wasn't fighting, though. Ukraine was. And all them arms, supplies, gear? NATO armies have way more. All them main battle systems not supplied, or supplied in small numbers - plenty of that. What it comes down to is that Russia, for all its boasting, and supposed might couldn't outright win a fight a much weaker opponent, and still can't. If anything, we should be worried NATO will become too complacent after reviewing the sad performance of the Russian forces.
  3. The more I'm reading about this, the less clear it becomes. Given that I was never one to pay attention to such stuff, I guess I'll stick with ignoring it until someone asks me to do something about it. Of course, it could mean a mess, or some financial hit. But as I'm not really sure what I could/should be doing, plus they may very well move the goal posts anyway, maybe no use worrying about it now. Can always get stressed later. Far as I recall, almost all of the previous 'doomsday' changes in the last 20 years ended up being a disappointment as 'end of days'. Sure, some hassles, some extra hoops to jump through, some restrictions, more paperwork - but bottom line no big deal. Signed, Grasshopper me.
  4. I do as I please.
  5. Dodgy how? Was he?
  6. With whom? The 'expert' is a woman. You haven't even read the piece.
  7. Anti-war, you sure that was the stuff posted?
  8. Israel withdrew, from or gave back (through agreement) land on more than one occasion - Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, South Lebanon. Israeli leaders did make offers towards a two-state solution involving withdrawal from the West Bank. I'm not about to defend Israel's Prime Minister or government - made my views on that clear. That said, who's leading the guys on the other side of the fence(s)? No issues with that? The Palestinians do not seem to invested in making peace, regardless of which government is in place. And that's without considering the Hamas, who's totally not into that anyway. Kinda amusing that you'd reference the South Africa model, but forget that forgiveness is a two way street. Israelis will need to accept to forget the Palestinians' sins - which you seem to ignore or deny.
  9. Had to look up topic, thought your last line was about not seeking advice in Thailand, which sounded at odds with your post. Saw your original one above, and agree. I think such forums aren't too bad for getting some sort of initial info, or maybe references. But even the few posters who seem to know what they are talking about are still posters on an internet forum - think most doctors, even not the top ones, could do better through examination.
  10. Yawn. You go on an on about stuff - does it mean anything you say is credible? Did you even have a point other than the obvious deflection? Short, long, medium - half of what you spew here is basically the same rant.
  11. Another rant? You referenced Barak's opinion piece, and raised question as to why Arab countries would commit. I gave several reasons for that. Now you move the goal posts and treat it like some actual plan, policy shift and whatnot. I never said anything about Barak's ideas becoming reality.
  12. A deadly cascade: how secret Hamas attack orders were passed down at last minute https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/nov/07/secret-hamas-attack-orders-israel-gaza-7-october
  13. ok.
  14. You naughty, naughty boy....
  15. Borat?! Is that you?!
  16. It's not 'his' poll, and I would say the same regarding pretty much any similar poll presented. Polls are often open to multiple interpretations, hence my comment.
  17. I'm an not your friend. Stop trolling.
  18. One may hope. But that's not necessarily supported by fact.
  19. Comes up often enough in my conversations with Arabs and Muslims. I should thing that every few years there's some mini-war, war involving Israel and that's usually what headlines are about. Also, one of the ME's favorite pass times seems to be coming up with nonsense conspiracy theories involving Israel. Maybe things were very different at your workplace.
  20. You both place way too much importance and trust in this poll, IMO.
  21. Hamas is not just about fighting Israel. It's much more than a terrorist organization. It's a religious movement, a political party, a network of social institutions. There are many elements included. We usually discuss just the military/political/terrorist parts, that's all. People do not always have rational combinations of ideas. It's just like that, it's just the way it is. Think about all them devout family-value Christian Americans supporting Trump, for reference.
  22. They will do it for the same reasons Qatar and Egypt compete for the negotiator role. Influence, prestige, and access to the USA government. Also, as long as Israel plays ball, and the Gazans' lot is improved, they can earn cookie points. I do think, however, that most would condition that on some show of intentions toward permanent conflict resolution. Not necessarily a solution per se, a show will do.
  23. That's great. I'm sure you've spent all that time repeating the sort of views you put on here, and that they were well received.
  24. Saying one supports Hamas on a survey does not necessarily imply supporting Hamas agenda wholesale. Same thing with Republicans and Trump, or Democrats and Biden.
  25. Having a pet rabbit is not quite the same thing.
