  1. Not exactly. What you say holds with regard to most of Israel's actions. While certainly much being unpalatable, it may not cross the bar so as to be labeled illegal. Hamas's well documented infractions are very clear. So while diplomatic language may require that bit about yet to be proven etc., it's not quite the same.
  2. No that I entirely dismiss such worries, but to insert some proportions https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Bangkok_bombings#Explosions
  3. You claimed it was preventable. You have not supported that with anything semi-factual or rational.
  4. There is nothing much to support your opinion that a two-state solution will cause respective populations to bring terrorists to heel. If anything, many analysts and commentators acknowledge the difficulty of maintaining an agreement due to the efforts of extreme elements to disrupt it, and to cause shifts in public opinion. Stating things as fact does not make them so.
  5. I'd like to point out a curious phenomenon. Some posters (and more to the point, those apparently more invested in the Palestinian narrative) can go on and on about Israel' sins, shortcomings, existing and expected positions and whatnot. Somehow the same level of 'in depth' analysis and commentary is not much on display with regard to the other side (apart from rehashing of said narrative). Yes, some do the quote-a-poll, quote-a-statement thing, but that's not really it. I guess maybe it's due to the fact that relevant information is less accessible, but still seems odd supporting a side and not being able to say a whole lot about it.
  6. Sadly, Buddy (aka Boyfriend) was found dead this morning. Our girl didn't want to leave, then saw a rat and forgot about it. Farmer none too happy with 'owners', already knowing they'll leave it to him to deal with. There's a macro working on a new house nearby, suggested he'll ask them for a few minutes help. Thanks, everyone.
  7. Maybe because it's not like that all over the country. Some Immigration offices are worse than others. Seems like more of a thing in places where there are a lot of foreigners about (except Bangkok, maybe - at least in my experience). Three other provinces I had to deal with immigration were a breeze, basically. In one, they had (hopefully still have) a officer/trainee to do the paperwork for applicants, even
  8. Wonder what families of the Thai dead, wounded, abducted or just losing their job make of it.
  9. The Israeli-Palestine conflict. Gazans are Palestinians. Thais are neither. If your point was about combatants, sure. But this would hold for Israelis as well. Same for pretty much any conflict.
  10. Dozens more aid trucks expected to enter Gaza -US https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/dozens-more-aid-trucks-expected-to-enter-gaza-us/ar-AA1jayWR Israel agrees to allow 100 trucks of humanitarian aid into Gaza each day — official https://www.timesofisrael.com/israel-agreed-to-allow-100-trucks-of-humanitarian-aid-into-gaza-each-day-official/
  11. You are aware that there is a difference between alleging 'war crimes', and legally proving 'war crimes' were committed, right? How many would these be?
  12. The Israeli government is firstly committed to care about Israeli citizens. The expectation that it will care more for the Palestinians than the Palestinian government is...interesting. Now, I know some on here will come and say 'but Hamas is a terrorist organization' - and that would be correct. But in more than one place in the ME, there are hybrid organizations, which have both military and political elements. So while Hamas is a terrorist organization, it's is also a political party and even the elected (long time ago, granted) government. Not too different from Lebanon's Hezbollah, by the way.
  13. 'Entirely Preventable', Proclaims Partisan Poster, Blames Israel. In other news....
  14. You said Hamas confirmed 7 hostages were dead. Hamas also claims 8000 civilian casualties. On these topics many (and I think you too?) doubt Hamas casualty figures. So the question is why to believe Hamas with regard to hostages being dead? I can think of several reasons that would make it beneficial for Hamas to claim that, regardless if it was true or not. Taking anything they say on things in the Gaza Strip at face value is a mistake.
  15. Yeah, but the hostages are with them. Writing them off?
  16. In modern times? Same? I agree that war is hell, but think there's no call to sugar coat it with gung ho nonsense. As for 'Nazis', 'Neo Nazis' and all this crap - let's get real: Israel is a nuclear capable country. Hamas is a terrorist organization. Israel is not under any threat of destruction at the moment.
  17. Hamas official says group will repeat Oct. 7 attack ‘twice and three times’ to destroy Israel https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/hamas-official-says-group-will-repeat-oct-7-attack-twice-and-three-times-to\-destroy-israel/ But a poster just said if Israel apologizes all will be well....?
  18. Except Egypt is none to thrilled with that. Neither is Israel. Or the Palestinians.
  19. There is no 'plan' other than in your posts.
  20. He commented to the effect that it's a nothing-burger. Which it is.
  21. Why do you reject Hamas casualty figures but accept their reports regarding hostages?
  22. It doesn't. People and life are complicated. Same way the Israeli government can't clearly say what is it's policy in the West Bank.
  23. How would the Bomber Harris scenario play out for US citizens stuck in the Gaza Strip, and /or hostages/? Is that how the USA actually dealt with things on past instances?
  24. Earlier in the topic there was mention of two Palestinian shops in the West Bank being shut down by IDF after shop signs were changed to mock abductees.
