  1. I'm not familiar with any Israeli minister by that name. You're either misspelling it, or who-knows-what. Regardless, if your wide-brush comment was based on something this minister or the other said - that's not government policy, but ministers running their mouth. That's pretty routine for Israeli governments, especially when ministers are engaged in political rivalries and one-upmanship. Already addressed several times on these topics (never mind past ones). You intentionally chose 'the Palestinian government' in order to muddy the water and to fit the comeback. The Palestinians are/were led by two separate leadership, with two different official agendas. What you refer to is the Hamas's version. The PA government does not hold such a policy. See above. You can 'agree' all you like but it doesn't make your statement any more correct either. Neither of you seems to have much use for facts.
  2. @ozimoron I don't know that anyone other than you (not even Hamas) expects Israel to actually start negotiations for a permanent solution under current conditions. It's just a bogus construct that you inject to the conversation. This topic is about the hostages, and the relevant negotiations are regarding that. You adopting Hamas's position notwithstanding. Also, Hamas's concept of 'permanent solution' involves dismantling the state of Israel, preferably with more of what was witnessed on 7/10. What, exactly, do you think that can be discussed? Essentially, what you're about is appeasement.
  3. @ozimoron You don't read the topics. You comment on what's appearing in them. Then you ask for others to bring 'proof'. You're way out there.
  4. @ozimoron That's just you saying stuff, without actually reading these topics. You've no idea. You're making things up, stating them as facts.
  5. You do not decide who are 'proper Jews'. And yes, it's a tough competition - these topics usually bring out some of the 'best' minds. I have not deflected - that's just you using a new word that you do not understand, obviously. Dunno what that PDF file is, not curious enough to open. Try a proper link, maybe.
  6. What are you on about? Again - there was a comment Israel could have handled things differently with regard to this situation. Not the conflict as a whole. This comment was not expanded on and left as a one liner. You are not answering that question, nor are you commenting on what I posted.
  7. Your views about Jews are public for some time now. I was just pointing out that lie about not having issues with them. Zionists can most certainly be Jews. You do not get to decide who are 'true Jews' and who aren't. That's about as ignorant a comment as I've seen on these topics. I hope Netanyahu does end up behind bars, but that's not really what the previous posts were about - so just another deflection from you.
  8. Why not? The question is not about what Israel could have done decades ago. It's about the here and now. There were comment made that this could have been handled in other ways - without specifying what these may have been. The question was not about an all encompassing, comprehensive solution, but rather regarding matters at hand.
  9. You're deflecting, as usual. The question, I believe, was what should Israel have done in response to 7/10.
  10. Why lie? You've already posted your views on Jews. You're outed. And again - people who use the term Zionists, instead of Israelis, usually have issues with Israel's very existence. It is rather amazing that with all the posts here you still don't get it that 'Zionists' does not reference only Netanyahu, Israel's right wing elements and so on. And while it's cool you pretend to know what Netanyahu thinks, I kinda doubt that you actually have a clue or that you can meaningfully explain yourself. Talk about claptrap....
  11. How would this make the Palestinian problem gone forever?
  12. @billd766 What's boring, repetitive, and meaningless are your posts, in which there are only bad Israelis, and good Palestinians. Even in a post detailing the what hostage went through, you can't let it go. She had her arm operated on off by a vet, without anesthesia. What is wrong with you?
  13. @billd766 Way to go Bill.....you're just one step away from making it the hostages' own fault. Hamas hijacked these people. You're trying to hijack this topic.
  14. As a rule of thumb, people who refer to Israelis as Zionists, are ones having issues with the country's existence.
  15. That's the second time you've said as much in recent posts - but failed to elaborate.
  16. In major shift, survey finds Israelis prefer Biden to Trump as next US president https://www.timesofisrael.com/in-major-shift-survey-finds-israelis-prefer-biden-to-trump-as-next-us-president/
  17. You're a victim. And I'm a bad bad bad man. OK. Still, who cares whether you put me on 'ignore' or not?
  18. Doesn't seem to be much of an issue for many posters here when they compare Israel to this or that, or what Israel does in the Gaza Strip or West Bank to other regimes, times in history and so on. I agree that things cannot be exactly compared, there are always variants. But it is true that there's enough historical reference to suggest that using force to dismantle regimes, organizations and even ideologies can be effective. It can be qualified by saying that it's more effective when combined with some long term approach which is not force-based
  19. This very same link was posted (more than once) on these topics. At least half of the views aired are that Hamas's military power and control can be dismantled.
