  1. First up...????Yes you are right about the timing of the 800K,an egregious mistake on my part. However, it will have to be "seasoned"by the time your 3 months is up and you want to progress to the 12m "extension". OMG another unforgivable error on my part. Where would we be without your kind guidance. The White slip"is proof from Immigration that you have confirmed your present address. The op will also need to present that at his local municipality along with his passport and DL along with translations of those documents to get his yellow book. I am merely trying to give the OP the details of my recent "lived" experience. I confess I'm not an all knowing Deity like your good self, but hey, I muddle through. Cheers
  2. Immigration would laugh at you if you asked and you don't need it. As I just mentioned TM30, passport, home country d/l and bob's your uncle. Now waiting for my 800k to mature then progress to the 3mth visa, followed by the retirement visa. Simples. So many opinions posing as facts posted by numpties is frustrating.
  3. I opened an ac recently with Bangkok Bank in Chiang Mai on a tourist visa with the white slip TM30 from immigration CM, my passport and my home country photo drivers license. No problem. I also obtained my yellow book with those same items. PS There was no mention of any insurance. Note also with the TM30 there is a 24h wait . You pick it up the next day. GL

  5. Can't help myself. How does one have a dearth when when there is a glut? Its been a while, maybe you've forgotten the topic. Cheers
  6. Yep, same process for me with St George. If I used St George, the fee would be double and 1BHT per 1AUD dif in the exchange rate!!!
  7. Actually it's a Masonic signal, Thais don't shake hands, so you can't give the secret handshake. If a Mason gives you 2 mango's and you are a Mason, you would give them 2 bananas to confirm.
  8. And <deleted> exchange rate. Can't beat Wise.
  9. You must be a hoot to have a glass of water with.

  13. For 5 years I've been using Sabuy Express for parcels between Oz and Chiang Mai. They always check the contents and charge accordingly. They then shrinkwrap and despatch. Never had a problem.
  14. 2B is just about what your comment is worth.
  15. Who got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?
  16. Have you now? Did you find them on the Dark Web after a lot of research?
  17. They've doomed themselves with the nonsense of net zero.
  18. Wise has had a limit of 50K on my transfers from Oz to KrungThai for about 4 months, so it's been in the works for some time.
  19. I was making the point to old mate Nigel that what was required 6 months ago may not apply today. The fact is that both the op and I were asked to produce the foreign DL. Peace Dudley,
  20. Just like to add that while applying at the Municipal office for my yellow book they required a signed copy of my DL and sight of the original. Coincidence?
  21. Opened an account with BK bank two weeks ago. they did indeed require my Australian drivers license, as well as the letter of Residence from Immigration. The OP accepts your apology.
  22. Only as a result of the lunatic Left activism who have been trying to make nuclear power untenable for 50 years. Nuclear is by far the cheapest, safest, most reliable form of CO2 free power available.
