  1. How did an unelected leader get involved in the first place.
  2. The money should be for the poor people up north. Things such as education, health etc are barely 3rd World standards. Let the Thai hisos and farangs who need to watch the World cup buy a VPN like I do to watch certain sports.
  3. Hi all, I'm 77 yo originally from Melbourne. I went through this a long time ago. I could've accessed the age pension on reaching 65 years. I had no idea about the restrictions on aged expats. I left Australia full time after being a full time resident for 60 years. I did national service, I even have an Australian service medal. I even worked for the department of defence building and maintaining war ships for 35 years. When I contacted the appropiate department I was told to get back to Australia for 2 years without leaving for one day. As I was well established in Thailand with a Thai wife I sold my property in Melbourne and moved on. The "LUCKY COUNTRY"
  4. You nailed it Steven, may I add one of her daughters and her partner lived with us for 4 years, rent free including services. As for the trouble maker we took care of her son for 3-4 years so she could go to work. Every few weeks we took him on holidays of his choice. For what?
  5. I don't think Chuwit would've been squeaky clean when he nominated for elections before. Did he pay his constituents cash for votes or give them free vouchers for a soapy with an extended happy ending.
  6. Hi all, I'm a very easy going person, maybe to easy. My wife recently had real Issan drama with one of her daughters. I tried to cool the situation down but soon realised the blame would get reverted to me so I backed off. Now we've been evicted from our holiday house that I built on the daughters land up north. Things were going fine for 20 years and now we've been cut off from her other kids too. Her kids are all in there 40's, I know my wife has a big mouth but so has her kids. It's all so petty over a very trivial matter. For so called devout Buddhists I've never seen so much hate for each other. I'm a total non believer of any religion and I've never hated people they way they do, especially family members. I'm caught up in this, I'm not going to leave my wife but it's very tempting, I don't need this sh#t at my age.
  7. I came across this VPN recently by the name of FAST VPN. It costs US$12 per annum and has many servers. It works perfectly. May I ask why do you need NETFLIX? There's many other free options including TV, movies and sports channels.
  8. I get the message after I try to close a website but it won't close.
  9. Hi there, I've been using computers for nearly 30 years for work and home. I've never seen the Invalid Token Timeout message before. I've got better than average PC trouble shooting skills. I've tried everything and nothing I've done has removed it. Has anyone fixed this error before?
  10. I've been in Thailand for 22 years, married for 20. I've never had one problems over that time. I must add though I've seen some absolutely shocking teenage gang brawls where her in doors comes from in the Korat area.
  11. Yes, I followed the info supplied by the Zenmate support team and nothing happened.
  12. Whether these allegations are true or not I can't come to terms with the the US paranoia. Every country who doesn't suck up to them goes on their black list. Seriously do US citizens believe that their own CIA doesn't spy on them. I was told by a very good source into these matters that it doesn't affect the normal Joe Blow. It's more into terrorism and money laundering etc where countries presume certain people are a National risk. So we all have to cease purchasing from certain countries but Governments such as the US can please themselves. A democracy ? Just take a look at the way the Julian Assange case has unfolded. Cheers.
  13. Hi there, Since Putin and his cowboys attacked The Ukraine, all sorts of of rumours have been flying about. It all resolves around the fact that Kaspersky the owner is a Russian National. Now there's been allegations into hacking and spying of all Kaspersky programs by the Russian Government. I've used Kaspersky AV for many years now and I've never had one problem. Of course there's been no data or evidence to back up these claims. Do the people who make these claims ever consider that the US Government by the way of the CIA could be spying on the sites on their computers. When it comes to spying the US Government and the CIA aren't exactly sqeaky clean. Cheers,
  14. If I had 6 months to live I'm not sure how I'd spend my final days. I'm more certain how I'd spend my time if I was reincarnated, I would certainly be a Soi 6 ladys bike seat.
  15. I can understand dads actions but I don't condone it. I've seen yaba first hand, my sister inlaw had 3 sons, 2 are trying hard to cut out a decent life for their partners and kids. The eldest one was a disaster waiting to happy. He was a really nice guy when he was off yaba but that was rare. Any way he died of a heart attack at 30 years of age. His junkie girl friend produced 2 kids to him and when her 1st BF was released from jail she done a runner. Now my sister inlaw 62 yo has to care for of her sons 2 pre school kids. It's totally destroyed he life and where is her original husband the father of her 3 sons, " it's not my business". TIT.
  16. Hi all, I need advice on what WIFI is required for online sports streaming. Namely product name and MBPS for a one year unlimited SIM card. Thanks.
  17. My Thai wife had many food shops before I met her. The first few years her cooking was superb be it Thai or farang food. In recent years she's become totally obsessed with YouTube and she either burns the cooking or the food is sub standard. So being a bachelor until I met her I cook my own and do all the laundry and any one percenters too. PS : she's a 65 yo granny not a youngster. Cheers.
  18. Firstly thanks for your reply, every term deposit bank requires the investor to be a resident of Australia. So there goes using a foreign ID such as you did with Centrelink. Cheers.
  19. Hi all, I'm in the same situation here in Pattaya. I also have a tooth ache so I'm looking for a reasonably priced dentist that charges us like expats and not toursts. I can go to my house in outer Bangkok but I really need attention ASAP. Thanks.
  20. I have an Australian passport and one Australian savings account, nothing else. Thanks.
  21. Hi there, Recently I had to re invest money into my ME Bank Term Deposit account. So as usual I logged in and my account was deleted but the money had been transferred into my access account. It appears that AU term deposit banks are now using electronic devices to verify our details. Such as are we really residents of Australia and not using a friends address. Also a current drivers licence, even in some cases our Medicare number of which the majority of us expats have been deleted from Medicare. Even our passports can be scanned to see if we are Australia or not. My problem is now where can I invest money as an expat, I don't get the aged pension because I broke my residential status, so I'm looking for another income. I'm not interested in shares so a fixed interest investment would be ideal. Anyone got any ideas which is the best option for me. Thanks.
  22. Hi all, I'm 77 yo born in Melbourne, I officially moved to Thailand 6 months prior to my 63rd birthday. Unbeknown to me at the time I broke my residential status and shouldn't have moved to Thailand till after my 65th birthday. This law is really harsh as I lived full time in Australia for 63 years. Worked for the Department of Defence for most of those years and I paid large taxes. I did 2 years National Service and was awarded an Australia Service medal. It appears all for nothing as now I'm living on a medium size investment which is decreasing rapidly every year. Cheers.
