  1. Hi there, after the initial hassle of putting up with her indoors, who knows fk all about nothing. I left her behind and done it myself. Five minutes and my SIM card was back to its original number. Everything is fine, phone number and text work great. I gave the girl 100 baht to top up my phone and she said no further charges, So I got my original phone number back for free. Thanks again for everyone for their suggestions. Cheers.
  2. I started using a visa agent 7 years ago, I know it's not legal but as I'm 80 years old it suits me fine. Just a question for the detractors of visa agents, are you all squeaky clean in everything you do. Even buying booze out of hours at the shop around the corner is illegal. What about how most of us met our partners, isn't prostitution illegal too?
  3. I understand that but I cant find a phone number. Firstly I would like to thank everyone for their advice. After thinking this situation over I'm going to buy a new SIM card and try to get back my old AIS number. If I'm succesfull does anyone know how much this will cost?
  4. I notified my overseas bank of my Thai phone number change. It was accepted and my Thai number is in my overseas bank profile.
  5. Im suppposed to be getting messages from my overseas bank, so far nothing.
  6. Hi there, I had to change my phone number recently and since then I don't get any SMS messages or texting. I need this as I used to get net codes for overseas money transfers. Thanks.
  7. Hi there, I'm not receiving any SMS messages on my Android phone. I've checked to make sure I've sent the messages from the correct number and that's ok. Maybe I need to adjust my phone settings of which I'm not exactly sure what to do. Thanks.
  8. I understand that but I cant find a phone number.
  9. Hi there, I need to transfer money online from Australia to Thailand. I lost my SIM card so I'm not getting SMS messages from TWISE. What's alternative method for doing online money transfers. Thanks.
  10. And don't worry about the old saying " let commonsense prevail " it simply doesn't happen. Unlike Thai guys we don't give our wives a decent slap. I'd rather stop her cash flow for a week. As mine comes back begging for mercy.
  11. Thailand is far from the land of smiles when Thai women throw a wobbly. I know first hand as I've been married to an Isaan lady for the past 22 years.
  12. It specifically requested the code sent to my missing SIM card. The 1st day I went to my local bank and provided all the neccesary info to prove my identity. I filled out 5 forms with all my details and signed them. Next morning I opened my online banking but nothing had changed. On the 2nd day the lady told me that method isn't correct and I needed to go online, fill in the appropiate form with my signature and take the copies to the same bank, again no SIM card to receive the message. So I can't authorize it, so maybe I'll try to retrieve the SIM number for my phone,
  13. Hi all, I'm a full time resident of Thailand. I needed to change my SIM card when I went back to Australia. On return to Thailand I've some how misplaced my Thai SIM card before I returned to Thailand. So I went to my local bank and they told me that I needed to go online and fill in and download a form to change my SIM number.. That's ok but how can I get a security code to authorise the download when the SIM card that's on my bank profile is definitely gone. Cheers.
  14. Hi all, I live in outer Bangkok and I have a condo in Naklua. When I leave my home to go to Pattaya I enter the motorway at Lad Krabang close to the airport. I pass many sets of speed cameras going to Pattaya and return. Maybe 20% work and even the ones that work most are no where near the true speed. once I was clocked at 170 kmh when doing 110, Eight years on I've never received a speeding notice.
  15. Hi there, in the past 20 odd years I lived in Thailand I can't how understand how the vast majorty of Thais are devout Buddhists considering the sadistic crime rate. What would the crime rate be like if they were total non believers?
  16. If I ever get reincarnated I have it in my will that I want to come back a a bar girls bike seat.
  17. Hi there, I was up at 4am this morning so I could contact my Aussie bank online at 8am. I updated my phone number, it took 8 minutes including waiting time. I then logged on to my bank to check that everything was updated and my net code unlocked, everything was ok. It makes me wonder why Thai banks do some much paper work. I hate the offices here where you need advice and you get 3 or 4 versions, all contradicting each other. I didn't misunderstand anything as my wife was my interptetor. Cheers.
  18. Many subscribers here have never lived in a Thai country home. I have as my wife has 4 brothers all farmers in the Korat area. I've seen how their lifestyles have slipped in the past 7-8 years. 2 were very successful but are now in real financial trouble as the Thai exports have hit rock bottom. As for the election I don't care who wins but the majority should prevail and the winning party should be allowed to form a Government. Don't single out a person or party when it comes to election naughties as everyone in Thai politics is bent, Cheers.
  19. Hi there, six months ago I had to cancel auto debits for power and water accounts. After visiting 3 banks by the same name and speaking to 6 different people over a 3 months period they finally got it right. Today I needed to update my passport number, my phone number and my email address. This time I visited 2 different banks spoke to 4 different people, including the banks call centre all gave me different ways to complete this most arduous task. They then referred me to download a form online, enter my details and everything will be fine. The website they referred me to doesn't even work properly. Thai banks and Government offices are the main offenders when it come to total stuff ups. Cheers.
  20. Who is the fugitive criminal? If you're referring to Thaksin he hasn't been tried in court yet. Maybe the entire senate should be charged with treason.
  21. I think a quick fix in my case is to simply buy a cheap SIM card as my phone has 2 slots.
  22. Just to explain myself in more depth. Initially I purchased a DTAC one year SIM card from Lazada which is 15Mbps and cost 1,400 baht.. Everything is fine but now it's time to to renew the SIM card. My question is can I top up my current SIM card and in doing so retain my current phone number. Thanks.
