All these empty hotels from the lack of chinese tourists and they are having to use a private sports centre for accommodation. I guess someone is pretty relieved they have been able to rent out their stadium to the govt while the football is shut down.

Even if they do go straight to a toilet I bet they check their phone. I have yet to see anyone cleaning their phone at the same time they wash their hands.

“Officials from the World Health Organization have urged anyone over the age of 60 to avoid crowded areas in order to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.”
I cannot see this mentioned in the quotes from the WHO in this article or elsewhere. The statements specifically refer to the higher risk from the virus for older people rather than it being a measure to reduce the spread.

“”Therefore, we expect that the index will move between 1,290 and 1,300 points,” he said.”
That is a pretty precise prediction given the size of the moves over the last week - 53pt drop on Friday alone ending at 1340.

Bit confused here. Is it a vaccine or a treatment they are working towards and how do they identify ‘terminal’ patients?

More stupidity from the gob of an idiot.
How in the proverbial slang did this halfwit get to the position of such responsibility.
Do they realise how much they stand out as insane when this kind of crazed authoritarian proverbial ‘poo’ escapes from their pea sized psychopathic minds.

I will have you know that WHO have 4.7m likes on their facebook page so are clearly well aware of the situation though sadly well behind Kim Kardashian on 29m who is must a global expert on the subject.

I was quite surprised at how few tests had been carried out so far for covid19 - 1489. Would have thought the figure would be much higher at this stage.

“TCT chair Chairat Trirattanajarasporn said the impact from coronavirus was worse than all other disasters, even worse than the SARS and MERS outbreaks or other natural disasters.”Guess the Tsunami is being airbrushed out of history then.

I don’t understand why this is worded as a ‘threat’ since this is the default position if there is no agreement anyway. We have left the EU and when the transition period ends then, without a deal, goods from the EU will be treated the same as goods coming from any other country.

Thai notaries are lawyers that have been licensed as notary attorneys to notarize documents and witness and notarize signatures, etc. They are authorized by the Thai Lawyers Council of Thailand.
Though they are licenced in Thailand they are technically not recognised internationally though it is very rare for them to not be.
Thailand is not a signatory to the Hague Convention that covers notorisation so has not officially appointed a body to authorise notaries.

Another one down over on the Darkside:
“It is with regret we announce the permenant closure of Sunnys from today.
We wish to thank all our loyal customers for their support over the last 2 years and wish them good luck for the future.”

Any update on this?
No concrete news yet - only rumours and this is not the place to air them.

I don't know that that is the process. Usually my experience is I have all the paperwork checked, and then offer payment after it is given the okay. I have not heard of this double whammy 1900 bah happening. Have you?
Virtually every time I have done my marriage extension the miserable woman there has rejected something on the first pass and sent my wife off to do extra copies of something or other or we have had to go to the bank for a new letter - never made us pay twice, lol.
Guess if she does insist on a TM30 next is just a question of getting one while we are there and possibly paying a fine but not exactly a major inconvenience.

Just done today 90 day report after coming in on re-entry permit on a O Marriage extension. Same address so no TM47 required (just the old slip in passport) and no TM30 still (never done one).

Perhaps we will all be required to turn on Location Services on our phones 24/7, and supply Thai Immigration with our Google passwords so they can track us?
If you download the latest app from them, Section 38, for sending 90 day reports on Android it give permission for them to access your location.

I agree with many people who don't see how this change in rules may stop Agent.
If there were until now Immigration Officers who were ready to ignore the 3-months seasoning requirement against a brow envelope,
what will stop these same officers to ignore this 1-year seasoning requirement against a bit larger envelope ?
Except if there is some change in the procedure that we don't know yet, I don't see how the new rules could succeed to stop agents
I would guess one issue they need to get round now is the second check on bank balance after 90 days. At the moment it is down to one officer to waive or not check on seasoning and he is compensated accordingly. Under the new rules this process needs repeating again 90 days later with no guarantee that the same officer will be doing the checking requiring a second mug of tea and the applicant over a barrel already having already paid the first officer.

Why does the Thai Immigration office not verify the applicants income themselves???
Sounds crazy, I know, but they would be doing the same thing as an embassy, and they have exactly the same powers that the embassy have to confirm the income. (ie. none)
Oh thats right they're too stupid, too lazy, and expect other people to do their jobs for them.
They don’t verify anything themselves but require verification from another authority. I am on a marriage extension and as well as the letter from my bank verifying my bank book balance is correct they require a form from the amphur to verify my marriage certificate is valid and photos of me and wife in house to verify my address is correct.

One wonders over what period of time the Baht 65,000 deposits per month need to be shown. In the past they seemed to be only interested in seeing banking history for the three months prior to applying for an extension.
Would assume long enough to show it made up at least 800k a year ie. 12 months, or ppl would not bother going the deposit route if they just needed 195k of transfers over three months
