Isan spelt many different ways seems to be the most dangerous are of Thailand in my opinion for being "taken for a ride" Something in the genes up in that area. Of course there are few exceptions to every rule. You may be one of them. I am a contractor and all the people that I know married to Thais from this area seem to spending huge sums of money supporting extended families back in LOS.
Maprao, you are posting generalized derogatory claims in the Isaan forum about wives and families of any number of us. What an insulting thing to do. Perhaps your words show your true character?

Anyway for the previous poster, pee krap.
Okay, a question. Were you trolling when you asked me how a Thai who speaks no English should address me?
-
The term "Yankee" has any number of connotations. Most folks I have spoken with have no clue about the term's apparent origins.
As a result, people tend to use "Yankee" and the diminutive "Yank" based on their own understanding and/or prejudices.
Whether or not their usage of the term offends the listener seems to usually be ignored by the speaker out of ignorance or convenience.

What is a good laser printer for very low usage?
The ink does not dry up, for starters!
I know, which is why I want one.

I am only speaking for myself here; talking about 'the farang' is different than being addressed as 'farang'.
If someone addresses me as "farang" I simply ignore them. Though sometimes, depending on their tone, I include a stern glance.
How should a person who speaks no English address you?
"Khun" or "Khun, khrap." That's how I address Thais who are strangers.
How do you address Thais that you don't know?

You must have your own reasons for re-visiting Pattaya , otherwise I'd suggest that there are so many much nicer places in Thailand that I would take my elderly mother to .
Well, a few years ago I would have preferred Chiang Mai, but it has become extremely polluted, and my mother hates it since she was hit by a car there some 7 years ago... Besides, she likes the sea. So I could almost say that I'm planning to go to Pattaya for her sake!
Take a look at Ban Krut in Prachuap Khiri Khan. Lovely quiet beaches, not expensive, great seafood. Not a lot to do other than enjoying nature, but ..

the blow-in insulation commonly used in the Americas is not cellulose but mineral wool which is not hygroscopic.
That sounds similar to some of the acoustic material (mineral fiber) we used in one type of our panels and silencers. The suppliers described it as "spun steel-mill slag". Itches like crazy if it gets down your clothing.

Comments or recommendations on this material, which is installed under the roof tiles?

Yes, as opposed to the American or Australian way to do it. Place the "deformed ball" on the ground and then pile upp the players on top of the "ball".
Never heard of any of those South American countries like Brazil, Colombia, etc?
How about those Central American countries like Mexico?
Prejudices are hard to get past when you never try, aren't they? Regardless of the "form" of your balls.

i spoke of divorced westerners condemning THAI infidelity as if such things were unique to Thailand.
See my comment to brewsterbudgen.

This isn't a uniquely Thai issue, although the way some think, it's only Thai girls that play around or are unfaithful!
Well, this forum is about Thailand. Maybe you can point out those who think. "..it's only Thai girls that play around or are unfaithful!"
-
All these divorced westerners talking about thai infidelity and incompatibility.............
You seem to associate "divorced westerners" and "infidelity". Infidelity happens in every culture. Divorce happens in virtually every culture where the concept is legal. Maybe I misunderstood your point?

I've only heard about "another place" at the Uni that does dental work .. so maybe that is the dental university. That must be where the young woman who did my extraction was from.
-
^^ The place inside Srinakarin Hospital with the sign that reads "Dental Clinic".

May be something else. I'm on 3BB and use FF 12.
CNN, Huffington Post and ETrade open just fine and about the same speed as Chrome.

If you can use a sata, consider the Seagate Momentus 2.5 hybrid drive, 7200 RPM. I have one in a desktop and it is significantly faster than a conventional HDD

I thought my experience might be of value to some of the folks nearby Khon Kaen.
I had one lower wisdom tooth left over from extractions and dentures that had been done 3+ years ago in BKK.
Recently I started getting toothaches. The tooth was not being used as a stabilizer for the denture so I decided to finally man-up and get it pulled.
Made an appointment at one clinic (not Srinakarin) where they mentioned "difficult extraction" and "Bt 1,200 to 1,500" on the phone. At the clinic I was rejected as soon as the woman saw my tooth .. "too difficult".
So off to Srinakarin. Got a card, then made an appointment for their evening clinic.
A dental student did a very workmanlike extraction with very little drama. The fee was Bt 400 or 450 (can't recall).
Next visit was afternoon appointment for a dentist to rework my denture to add a tooth that would match my uppers. Mouth got filled with stainless steel device and some quick setting goo and told to return in 2 weeks .. at which time both upper and lower dentures would be lined. (dentures had never been lined).
Two weeks later it took about 30 minutes for the same dentist to check the newly modified denture then line both. Lots of grinding and polishing. My dentures fit much better now, especially the lower.
Cost for tooth being added and both dentures lined, Bt 4,800
Waiting time for evening clinic was longest, about 20 - 30 min. Waiting time for afternoon was 5-10 min both times. The clinic is basically an open bay with about 10 chairs and one walled off area. Place is not fancy but it's clean.
If you decide to visit, be prepared for a good long walk.

I'm sure that the collusion between suppliers and wives happens, but an honest and savvy Thai wife will get better prices than farangs.
