  1. Made where? It has been nobbled in the US. Funding "paused" . Was being produced in same site as AZ and J&J but now only making J&J. Contamination issues cited in production . So is J&J somehow not despite being from same plant?
  2. I am quite happy that I have the AZ jab but if it had been Sinovac as first jab I would not have objected. I would report that my reaction to it was as predicted in most side effects for a couple of days which I consider a good sign. Others that I know have felt no or barely noticeable reaction which I hope for them does not indicate a minimal immune response. What I do find interesting is that of the other 250+ vaccines said to be under development many months ago that afaik none have surfaced ? Surely not all are duds?
  3. I am amazed that there has not been at least a preliminary autopsy report given that it is assumed to be a rape/murder case. Without some confirmation it could be that the RTP will be limited in pursuing any aggressive investigations ?
  4. Oh? And those who get injured, suffocated, even die on both sides of the game? Just click the reset button to try again? Meanwhile back in the real world.........!
  5. What evidence is there for the "plan du jour" of single shot AZ ? No doubt Thailand will continue with the majority of shots being sinovac or sinopharm at least initially or AZ as according to established criteria. It would be a reasonably safe bet those that got a 3rd shot of Pfizer will be front line people.
  6. I have had an initial jab of AZ so I hope in mid October I will actually receive the second as "promised" on my vaccination slip!
  7. Certainly they are often responsible for dangerous overtaking !
  8. I am unable to understand where I even as much as inferred 5 million Baht is "rich". But to clarify what I would consider those with "significant" offshore wealth would be more in the range of $5 million and upwards. Nominal deposit rates in Thailand were generally under 1% before the pandemic. I am not denying the pandemic and resulting ramifications is having an impact of concern but with regard to the long planned implementation of this reduction in Bank Deposit protection it is less relevant than is being made out to be.
  9. Would my thinking be so wrong to consider that given the Thai Baht has fallen quickly and is likely to continue to decline that for those very wealthy who probably have significant offshore holdings would be inclined to now buy back into Baht to utilize property purchases at a time of a depressed local market combined with the advantage of the exchange rates? For the vast numbers who possess nothing but debt the insurance providers to Banks will dictate more stringent criteria for further loans to minimize risk. The Government protection level has been progressively reduced over many years and although this latest final decrease has been deferred more than once it is unlikely to impact on the majority even now.
  10. I am led to wonder if the optimism derived from the number of people exited from hospital or quarantine is based on a lot of asymptomatic cases being shipped out to the provinces and either now home "quarantined" or in small localized "observation" units. The amount of hospital ambulance traffic with lights and sirens at max speed passing by here in Isaan territory is very noticeable as a multiple daily event. Rare to see a privately operated EMS vehicle by comparison with the roads significantly quieter than usual perhaps impacting their more usual function.
  11. Perhaps so. But also perhaps this syrup form is at low production because it is usually dispensed in tablet form that is more available . Invented/created in Japan it has been quite extensively used to treat immune resistance in influenza cases and experimentally for Ebola and other situations. It has a positive reputation as a pre symptomatic therapy shown to lessen development of RNA viral infection.
  12. While the international jury may still be out over the validity of Favipiravir the confidence imbued even by way of a placebo effect can be considered beneficial at very least so long as it is not promoted as a primary solution to Covid-19.
  13. And perhaps just so hap that at the original announcement of proposed deal the share value of THG popped up. Now the deal is off the THG share value drops. Nobody would have taken advantage would they ????
  14. Unlike when the numbers were low there seems o be no data being made public on the demographics of those succumbing and dying of covid-19. Has there been any significant shift in the prior health status and age group or has it remained predominantly the elderly and immune compromised ?
  15. Strangely I have experienced ,one time, the opposite. An item clearly notified as sourced from China miraculously arrived in two days. Product was as ordered and expected and cost same. My conclusion was that there are sellers inside Thailand who work on forward order or commission rates from Chinese suppliers. There have been times when a "local" listed product has taken longer than many others to arrive direct from China. But I have never noted at time of placing order on said items if the "source" changes. I will however be interested to now check although it is rarely that I order any item with urgent need. Generally I am satisfied that the product is as expected and the cost s as stated. Have only had one dud out of many so far.
  16. And if it is proven that China is not to blame.......what then? Or if it can not be proven China is to blame.....what then? Or if it is proven the source originated outside China....what then? The blame game is irrelevant to the ongoing issue of the stark reality that "what is" need be dealt with while at the same time rationally establishing source so as to avert ,if possible, a repeat of circumstance and outcome regardless of human error or product of nature. Blame is unproductive and antagonistic and invites a similar response which does nothing to establish truth but assists in the convenience of political priorities !
  17. I had my first AZ shot last week and the experience was quite different to what you describe. Was well organized with many personnel shepherding people through the process. My initial concern was that the paperwork was only in Thai but a young volunteer cheerfully filled it out for me. From beginning to end it took approx 1 hour including the 30 minute waiting time post shot.
  18. Apt comment. While there may be some quite dire repercussions especially at the low socio- economic scale due to inability to service the public debt so many have been coerced into and are increasingly becoming subject to a bankrupt position at the mercy of creditors for expats who retain whatever justification they provide as legitimate reason to be residing in Thailand I would ask what in real and meaningful terms has changed that in other locations or origins have not experienced some negative equivalence in increased legislative requirement, restrictions? As a reasonably long term expat who has made considered investment in support of continued stay with my wife and family it would take something much more extreme and direct to dislodge me from my commitment to that than the hapharzard political scenario that has long existed and likely to continue totally beyond any personal capacity to participate in or influence. At this time there is a global state of flux in almost every aspect of assumed consistency regardless of how comfortable or harsh it has been that now as a part of what will be history is genuinely threatening that assumption economically and socially. Technologically the world has been shrunken to the point where a camel could fart in the open desert and if it were desired the evidence of the event could probably be produced yet the illusion of a sophisticated world is projected like a carrot to a donkey in pursuit of bliss in a deluded world. There are no bunkers left that are safe even on continental scale.
  19. Getting bored doing the same thing over and again might suggest to stop doing it? Habitual whinging included?
  20. So where, apart from a mention in the headline, did the two who allegedly "flee" the scene fit the given story? Are they the two injured passengers ? very strange reporting
  21. 7/11,s and similar outlets are based on turnover which is based on customer turn around . In locations such as Pattaya which by many accounts is a ghost town by comparison to pre covid days makes it obvious that with the absence of bulk customers the Franchisees are unable to service the conditions of their licence to the franchise issuers and still retain a livable level of income. In some places where 7/11s are 75 meters apart and now at times so are customers it is easily obvious what the result must be. Covid is to blame even if it has not involved any direct infection in a specific location.
  22. With a small percentage of the population having received a vaccine and the virus spreading like wild fire it would it only be significant if those dying were heavily represented despite receiving Sinovac ? Are such statistics being made public ?
