  1. A fairly large piece of the lower wing skin and a piece of (maybe) rudder have been found away from the main site, so in-air break-up is a possibility. The initial data looks like they managed to pull it up slightly for a few seconds before it hit.
  2. Do you mean transit, where you stay airside in the airport, or a stopover, where you pass through immigration and customs? Most countries have a deadline before departure not arrival, in which case a transit stop won't matter, but a stopover will. If it is a stopover, or you're travelling to a country with an arrival deadline (rather than a departure one), you will have to find somewhere that can do you an express PCR and get it taken as late as you can to squeeze into the time frame.
  3. Do you mean an ATK? Because that's not going to prove anything. ATKs are far less sensitive than a PCR. If you do mean a PCR, then I admire your dedication to the cause, but hauling a PCR analysis machine with you to Thailand seems overkill, and the excess baggage charges would be eye-watering.
  4. It's only a requirement if your destination country requires it. 2 flights back to the UK on Qatar in the last 6 weeks. No pre-flight PCR needed on the way to the UK. PCR needed for the return to Thailand.
  5. Qatar Airways are doing free changes until the end of September. I've been using them to go back to Manchester and the flights are pretty convenient. You do have to pay the fare difference, but for me, it's still worked out cheaper than buying singles. At the moment, I am only booking direct with airlines for any travel. I got too badly burned trying to get refunds out of agents when this all started. With the exception of KLM, the airlines were much easier to deal with.
  6. The airlines are still going to have to check vaccination docs and the Thai Pass at check in, so having a test result in there as well will make no discernable different to the admin load.
  7. I can get myself tested, but that doesn't help if I end up quarantined because I was sat next to someone who's positive.
  8. Are they also dropping punitive quarantine for anyone unfortunate enough to have sat next to someone on the plane who tests positive on arrival?
  9. Probably all of the above. It is mandatory to report it. Because the app is so bad, not everyone gets the option to report it. Nothing seems to happen whether you report it or not. Make of that what you will.
  10. It's suddenly happening every time I log in. Never had it before.
  11. When I've booked direct, I've always paid by bank transfer or QR code.
  12. There's not much point worrying about how well the hotels are handling sensitive documents, when those same documents get uploaded to the Thai Pass site which is constantly being hacked.
  13. It sounds like you are talking about the flight to the UK, which no longer has any of these requirements. CliveBaxter is talking about getting back into Thailand.
  14. You can't report the results of the ATK test until you get the notification with the link in it. Some people never receive the notification at all, so they can never report their results. They have no way of knowing whether you have taken it or not when the notification is sent. This is all just their very clumsy workaround for requiring people to upload results to an App that doesn't have that functionality. They could just give you a link to the website when you get the ATK and stop pretending this is anything to do with Mor Chana, but that would spoil all the fun.
  15. Perhaps they could ask the scammers that hack the Thai Pass database every week to help them fix it. At least they seem to know what they are doing. ????
  16. It's for the results of the Day 5 rapid test. They just haven't updated the text. You can see it says ATK in the link.
  17. A lot of people have had success with the QueQ app, you get a choice of locations and vaccines. There's also Bang Sue, although the rules do seem to change there. (I also have a Moderna shot available at MedPark if that's of interest to you.)
  18. I can't say about Pattaya, but I haven't found the markup to be hugely excessive in Bangkok. The transfer has to be SHA+, with the driver separate from you and the car being disinfected and all the rest of it. (Whether that actually happens is another question). A PCR test at a hospital in Bangkok is around 3k. There are cheaper options at clinics, but it has to be at an approved hospital. The hotel has to jump through all the SHA+ hoops with trash being dealt with as medical waste, etc. (again, whether that actually happens... but it's charged for). It all adds up. www.asq.in.th has several hotels around Pattaya/Jomtien with test and go packages for less than 4k
  19. I have insurance with Luma and I was able to buy it when I was already in Thailand. The PCR test that has to be pre-booked is the one you have at the hotel when you arrive. It's part of the test & go package. It's separate from the test you have to have before departure. 1) Get PCR test no more than 72 hours before departure. This does not have to be pre-booked and you will not be asked about it during the Thai Pass application. However, you will need to show the results at check in before you are allowed to board the plane. 2) Fly to Thailand 3) Get transferred to SHA+ hotel for 1 night quarantine 4) Have another PCR test (this is sometimes done at a hospital or testing center on the way to the hotel instead) 5) Hopefully, get negative PCR test and leave quarantine 6) Complete the rapid test on day 5 3-6 are part of the Thai Pass process. #1 is not.
  20. You do need a PCR test 72 hours before departure, but that's separate from the Thai Pass application. You don't need the results before you apply, and you aren't asked about it during the application process. How long it takes varies a lot. Some people get them back almost instantly, some have to wait. It says 3-7 business days on the site, but mine took 8 working days
  21. Assuming the Thai Pass is still a thing then, and unfortunately, it looks like it's going to be around for a while, then yes, you will need to apply for one. Just like anyone else coming in to Thailand.
  22. Make JPGs of the 3 pages and then use an online service to merge them into one long jpg. This site has a horrible interface, but it does the job. Just scroll down to where you can drag and drop the files. https://www.filesmerge.com/merge-jpg
  23. Yes, you need the first part that you posted to confirm that you paid in full, and the second part to show the package inclusions (the tests). If you contact the hotel, they will usually email you a confirmation/receipt with all the information on one page.
