  1. Ukraine on Monday said tens of thousands of people have likely been killed in Russia's assault on the southeastern city of Mariupol while the country's rights ombudswoman accused Russian forces in the region of torture and executions. Reuters has confirmed widespread destruction in Mariupol but could not verify the alleged crimes or the estimate of those killed in the strategic city, which lies between Russian-annexed Crimea and eastern areas of Ukraine held by Russian-backed separatists. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukraine-says-tens-thousands-killed-mariupol-accuses-russia-slowing-evacuations-2022-04-11/
  2. Then start a new thread rather than hijack this one.
  3. I'm referring to the political "system", not incompetent politicians. For example voter repression laws and tactics like jailing the opposition or fabricating issues to influence voters. It's fascists who do that rather than submit to a free and fair election. The result is wars.
  4. Really? Russia doesn't covet Ukraines' resources? https://www.businesstoday.in/latest/world/story/are-ukraines-vast-natural-resources-a-real-reason-behind-russias-invasion-323894-2022-02-25
  5. The mayor of the Ukrainian port city of Mariupol said Monday that more than 10,000 civilians have died in the Russian siege of his city, and that the death toll could surpass 20,000, with corpses that were “carpeted through the streets.” https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-state-of-the-union-address-zelenskyy-biden-kyiv-7cc069b80178629a60f4f2d166348d45
  6. It's only the fascists in those democracies that have been a problem since they aren't in the majority and need to resort to non-democratic means to gain or hold power. It's not just the West, Russia has the same problem.
  7. definitely, we are headed into another decade or more of cold war imo.
  8. I draw your attention to the NATO statement made 3 days ago which included "Ukraine - which is an independent, peaceful and democratic country, and a close NATO partner."
  9. Yep, Russia's intention was to divide NATO, That didn't age well.
  10. None of them have backed out of NATO and all of them have asserted that they will fight if Russia attacks any NATO country. "NATO condemns in the strongest possible terms Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine - which is an independent, peaceful and democratic country, and a close NATO partner. The Alliance calls on President Putin to stop this war immediately, withdraw all his forces from Ukraine without conditions and engage in genuine diplomacy." https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/topics_192648.htm As the UK's health secretary, Sajid Javid, said only a few days ago in an interview on LBC: “If a single Russian toecap steps into Nato territory there will be war with Nato.” On February 25, one day after Russian forces invaded Ukraine, Nato heads of government met in Brussels. They produced a statement deploring the invasion and pledging aid for Ukraine. The alliance pledged to “continue to take all measures and decisions required to ensure the security and defence of all all .. 11. Which European countries haven't imposed sanctions on Russia?
  12. Nothing to do with Europe? ???? Countries like Germany who previusly courted Russia are now moving away from reliance on Russia as fast as they can and giving massive amounts of heavy weaponry to Ukraine. That ship has sailed.
  13. What a joke. Every country in Europe supports NATO. The big guy's kickbacks never existed.
  14. Nobody denied there were bio labs in Ukraine. The disinformation is that they are being used to make weapons instead of just researching viruses. Every developed nation does this.
  15. Repair shop owner knows of 'multiple attempts' to 'insert questionable material' into Hunter Biden's laptop Published April 11, 2022 https://www.rawstory.com/hunter-biden-laptop-misinformation/
  16. Yes, it is clear. They wanted to kill children and they succeeded. The Russian tactic is now brutality and war crimes to try to force a compromise. The Russian military are subjected to the same propaganda as everybody else, including yourself it seems.
  17. Meantime, he can forget holidays on the Riviera.
  18. A good alternative to rebuilding a machine might be to start here and add RAM and an SSD. 19. Ramzan Kadyrov, the powerful head of Russia's republic of Chechnya, said early on Monday that there will be an offensive by Russian forces not only on the besieged port of Mariupol, but also on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. "There will be an offensive ... not only on Mariupol, but also on other places, cities and villages," Kadyrov said in a video posted on his Telegram channel. "Luhansk and Donetsk - we will fully liberate in the first place ... and then take Kyiv and all other cities." https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/chechen-chief-kadyrov-says-russian-forces-will-take-kyiv-2022-04-11/
  20. Today's news is that many more heavy weapons are headed Ukraine's way. I have posted the links in other threads on this topic.
  21. Russia's use of war crimes as alleged military tactics appear to have been the tipping point for NATO nations, which have become increasingly willing to provide the sort of hard-hitting offensive weapons that the coalition had previously been refusing. The United Kingdom is now said to be providing new armored vehicles and possibly anti-ship missiles, though almost certainly not the Harpoon missiles that Ukraine lacks launch capabilities for. Lithuania will reportedly be training Ukrainian troops on the use of Western-produced gear, while the U.S. military is now publicly highlighting their efforts to train Ukrainian soldiers being provided with new Switchblade drones. https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2022/4/10/2091231/-Ukraine-update-Refugees-top-4-5-million-Russian-crimes-provoke-NATO-into-broader-weapons-transfers
  22. Russia has tapped a new Ukraine war commander to take centralized control of the next phase of battle after its costly failures in the opening campaign and carnage for Ukrainian civilians. U.S. officials don’t see one man making a difference in Moscow’s prospects. Russia turned to Gen. Alexander Dvornikov, 60, one of Russia’s most experienced military officers and — according to U.S. officials — a general with a record of brutality against civilians in Syria and other war theaters. https://apnews.com/article/russia-appoints-new-ukraine-war-commander-dvornikov-225f976f9abfb5aff6154ac3b77c21e6
  23. Russia has made a “massive strategic blunder” as Finland and Sweden look poised to join Nato as early as the summer, https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/finland-sweden-set-to-join-nato-war-ukraine-latest-7m8bn6mf8
  24. I think you are mis-characterising the figures as a "fabrication". Like every other country, those numbers are a best guess using statistical regression. You should cite evidence for your claim that that Thailand has "departed the model of every single other nation of earth" otherwise you are trolling.
