  1. The man did a runner, no chance to present his bill. Well, that is your way of wording it, not the owner's, so why weren't the police able to charge him?!
  2. "A bill he did a runner on, which is a criminal offense". So why has he not been charged with a criminal offence, then? "That´s just a lot of bull. he didn´t let him stay voluntarily". No, that's just a load of bull...the owner lent him money after he couldn't pay the rent and did not ask him to leave but, instead, lent him more money and still didn't ask him to leave, that is voluntarily allowing him to stay. He did not force the owner to provide accommodation or money.
  3. I really cannot believe the unintelligible nonsense that some people post here. You appear to be aghast at someone complaining about a meal costing just B99, yet you state that he had the shrewd initiative and resourcefulness (gumption) to complain! Make up your mind.
  4. Absolutely. And he voluntarily allowed the man to continue living there even though he knew that he had no money, neither did he present him with his bill and tell him to settle up and leave.
  5. Surely not! You are probably going to say the landlord is. That´s just not true, as he tried to be kind and help. No, I did not say that it was the landlord that was the clown but you did suggest that the police should have done something about a situation that apparently involved no criminal offences... "the police [stated] it didn’t constitute a legal offence as he had allowed the man to stay voluntarily".
  6. What did the Korean do that was illegal in the circumstances as described? What would you suggest that the police did from a legal point of view- rationally. It seems that it is not the police who are the clowns in this case.
  7. I am not a Thai, as you seem to be suggesting, and your opinion of my posts is of no consequence, whatsoever. "...never an own opinion about the subject.." Ironically, my comment that you don't approve of because I "never have an opinion about the subject" was my opinion on the subject. "...you write constantly...always negative comments on others" It is permitted for you to post negative comments about me, though! How strange...that makes you a hypocrite, doesn't it?
  8. Try researching before posting: a group of retired OAP's were arrested in Pattaya for playing Bridge some years ago. The shakedown went pear-shaped when a good old girl refused to pay!!! You should "try researching before posting:"; that group were arrested because it was thought that they were gambling on the games, not just innocently playing bridge. It went pear-shaped when the police/authoritites discovered that they were not gambling and they were eventually released. Playing bridge is not illegal.
  9. one minute too much Not too much for you to move to live in the area, though.
  10. You pass and observe the entire Onnut area?...or just a minute part of it that the bus passes through that is not representative of the whole area?
  11. That was what the authorities diverted to after it was realised that they were not gambling, which is what they were initially arrested for.
  12. Talking about yourself again Lou? Why not head your own suggestion? You can't read? I posted that I was quoting him, I was not telling him how to post, just rubbing his nose in the sht that he posted.
  13. Because malls have to be built by private enterprise on available land, they are not just "put" there by a committee that decides there "should be" one. If there was one, you'd, clearly, only complain about it and the type of patrons it attracted, anyway,
  14. Who is the "they" whom you're denigrating?
  15. Well said...delusions of grandeur on his part.
  16. But, in this case, it was the woman "having an off day", not the restaurant.
  17. Why? The woman complaining admitted that her complaint was unjustified and she apologised for it, can't you read?
  18. "...As always, Thais can't take complaints". As (almost) always, AN posters really cannot read, the owner said... "The restaurant is open to constructive feedback and willing to make improvements, but the owner felt compelled to defend their business against false accusations".
  19. Reading your totally useless comments over several threads, I would suggest you get a hobby, and stay off AN when all you have to do is to criticize other posters for really minor errors like spelling, etc. Post when you have something interesting to say, not just useless barbs for no reason other than to antagonize people. Some would say troll-like behavior. Please stop it. Just my opinion. To quote you...reading that totally useless comment on this thread, I would suggest you get a hobby, and stay off AN when all you have to do is to criticise other posters for posting their opinion. Post when you have something interesting to say, not just a useless barb for no reason other than to antagonise people. Some would say troll-like behavior. Please stop it, no one here is in any position to tell others what, or how, to post until you're a Mod.
  20. Try reading the article, the owner said that he welcomes constructive feedback, not the false allegation that this woman admitted making!
  21. A lot of old expats were arrested a few years ago for playing bridge. They weren't arrested for just playing bridge, they were arrested (and later released) because it was thought at the time that they were gambling (for money), bridge is perfectly legal.
  22. Had a look at it, and bought an item, out of curiosity. Prices are much the same as existing platforms for comparable items and they definitely do not offer 90% discounts - the price you see on the description is the price that you pay but on the "Pay" page they show a crossed out heavily inflated "price" to lead buyers to believe that they are getting a big discount.
  23. Good old fashioned, original comment!
  24. playing bridge probably Playing bridge isn't illegal, or wrong, in Thailand.
