  1. Really? You need to do some research.
  2. Maybe you do not know what I am talking about - this is for yourself. Deposit Protection Agency (DPA) I know exactly what the DPA is but you don't know that not every Thai bank has the B1m restriction.
  3. Books or toys, or clothing. The children will not appreciate more rice, regardless of how expensive it was, nor should they be expected to, despite your generous New Year's "presence".
  4. she had to come home early as her sister was taken ill at her hometown and the trip they were supposed to go on to Khao Yai got cancelled.. Nice attempt at a swerve.
  5. If you do go with converting that amount of cash, call or visit the exchange first, speak to the manager, you may find that the rate is flexible from the advertised rate.
  6. we're talking of an amount well in access of 10 mill thb, so think for yourself... B10m cash is a bit heavy and cumbersome but not impossible to handle and, for large amounts, the exchanges will make arrangements for privacy in their office. I've done it the other way around in the past, collected B13m in cash from a Sukhumvit exchange from a Jersey/HK bank transfer.
  7. Can you find one that was the responsibility of "Thailand's banking system" or "compliance"?
  8. Again, that fraud from decades ago was nothing to do with "Thailand's banking system or "compliance".
  9. Do you know if they didn't? It's only "one more" if you know that they did lose their money (that they were voluntarily giving to an employee in very dubious circumstances outside the bank's offices). And that example of theft by an employee is nothing to do with "Thailand's banking system" or "compliance" as you assert.
  10. No, that is not "it". It depends on which bank is holding the funds.
  11. "...not fully compliant as a 2nd world system". What does that mean - in what aspects, specifically?
  12. There's no retail HSBC in Thailand.
  13. Anyhow, since he is not in prison, it is all irrelevant. No, it is not irrelevant, he is detained (wherever he is) under the ultimate control and responsibility of the Department of Corrections, i.e. the prison authorities, under the advice of the doctors.
  14. you sound like a sour old man with a very negative attitude, who gives a S--- what you saw! Normally when a boat breaks in half it sinks but that might be to difficult for you to get your head around! "...who gives a S--- what you saw!". And you "sound" like someone who cannot read what I posted, I did not post that I "saw" anything. I know that when a boat breaks up it sinks, that's why I asked scorecard ,"Where do you think that a sunken boat, 15km offshore, normally ends up?", after he asked, "Did it sink to the bottom?". I think that all that is definitely too difficult for you to get your head around (to use your brilliantly chosen words).
  15. Can't work out if you're taking the piss with that remark, if you are you know what you can do, but calling AIS is the only way to get the correct answer. If you're not, I apologise for misinterpreting it.
  16. I am fairly sure as he is detained at the taxpayers expense, MPs are allowed to view his accommodation to ensure value for money for the taxpayers. Can prisoners pay for private accommodation? The MPs could view his accommodation, I'm sure,(if the medical staff who are responsible for is well-being permit it) but they cannot insist on Thaksin agreeing to accept a visit from them to see him, which is what I said. Obviously, prisoners cannot pay for private accommodation.
  17. Well, if you've never heard of Thai Newsroom it must be a load of b0llocks...that must be the rule.
  18. Not if they are officials....... pretty sure they can't reject a visit from the warden, a guard or how about a doctor! I'm pretty sure that you understood my meaning. The warden or prison guards would not be visitors and they could reject medical treatment if they desired, but, again, a prison doctor would not be a visitor. MPs are not prison officials and no prisoner would have to accept a forced visit from them.
  19. The headline clearly says "illegal taxi apps". The content of the article is what matters, not an abbreviated headline.
  20. Not if the booking is through an app that quotes a fare. Grab, Bolt, et al, mean anything to you?
  21. I see you couldn't even think of one. Maybe you should tell him what you're looking for. Perhaps you couldn't think of what it is?
  22. Such as? I'm sure that you're capable of doing your own research for the things that you like to occupy yourself with.
  23. Okay, how do you spend your time? I spend my time avoiding dreariness and vulgarity.
