Police reports aren't published in the press a a matter of course, the police report to the press information that it available and relevant to the case while it is still ongoing (BP, 26th Jan). If you don't like that, or you don't give it much credence, why do you then give credence to the woman's version which, so far, has been reported in the same way, i.e. via the press?
