  1. So no bicycles allowed, yeh right. Different classification of vehicles. You're not suggesting that all bicycles are illegal if used on the roads, are you?

  3. sorry, but that is not correct. All UK banks require applicants for new accounts to be UK residents. If that is incorrect, please advise which UK banks will open accounts for non-UK residents remotely.
  4. Revolut is "not available in your region" - Thailand. The first requirement from Starling is a UK phone number.
  5. From your link... Apply for our Current Account You must: be 18 years of age or older be a UK resident
  6. Officially, it is a requirement. Long-established accounts may get away with it but that can change at any time at the bank's whim. Try to open a new UK bank account without a UK address and see how far you get.
  7. Officially, all UK banks' regulation require their account holders to be UK resident. Some get away with it, some don't.
  8. "It appears that now without a UK address I can not have a UK bank account any more..." What you are posting does not make sense, Barclays, Guernsey is not a UK bank, it is an offshore bank and an offshore bank would not need to close your account solely because you do not have a UK address.
  9. You've been lucky, so far, but your bank could, unilaterally, change that situation at any time. Call them and tell them specifically that you have not been UK resident since 2005 and that do not have a genuine UK address of your own and see what their reaction is.
  10. That is incorrect, some people may get away with it but to have a UK bank account the account holder has to be a UK resident. as the OP has just found out. A UK address that it not the account holder's actual address doesn't necessarily qualify if push comes to shove.
  11. You do not need to prove your new address to BBL for an existing account, you just tell them what your new address is.
  12. Posted by a member who clearly knows nothing about the subject on which he's commenting.
  13. I'm not condoning his driving but why shouldn't he walk free with a few points, a fine and maybe a compensation order? He wasn't over-the-limit drunk, didn't kill anyone and his charge was only reckless driving causing injury. Is there a mandatory jail sentence for that traffic offence?
  14. What evidence do you have that that is the case here?...Sad.
  15. Two-door coupé Bentleys aren't exactly limos that would normally have a driver.
  16. Why? Do you have any information confirming your assertion of his level of intoxication being over the legal limit?
  17. so they are not worried about pregnant men being a health risk ? That sort of banal stupidity hasn't really got here...yet. I think that their distinction, though, was between pregnant women and non-pregnant women whose risks are, allegedly, less.
  18. Probably not, but, because the meeting would be held on private premises, the owner(s, JP) can make their own rules about conduct during the meeting and would be within their rights to not permit recording if they wanted to.
  19. not much humor isn't?? There's a big difference between claimed 'humour' (when called out about it) and deliberately, but lamely, trying to take the pi_ss by misstating what was actually reported (Thai bashing).
  20. While we are talking about misunderstanding words - he wouldn't have gotten chicken at all if he ordered Khao Man Kai, just cooked rice with egg The original Thai article referenced chicken/gai throughout, not egg/kai. Probably an error on the part of whoever posted the OP, not the report.
