  1. Doesn't alter the fact that I am correct in what I posted, many traditional, proper (no extras) shops do not have salaried/waged masseuses, they rely on tips. It is not necessary to speak with every traditional massage shop to know how that type of business operates.
  2. So, you do not know that there is a price for the massage? When we are talking tip, we probably mean beside the general price. Hey! Welcome to the real world. Hey, welcome to the real world! The charge for the massage in many traditional, proper Thai Massage shops goes to the shop owner. Many traditional masseuses do only get the customers' tips.
  3. You are wrong. Sorry buddy. No, I am not wrong about many proper Thai Massage shop masseuses' remuneration. Many work for tips only, that's why they are so keen to get the next passing customer in. Buddy.
  4. How do YOU know the ATM wasn't damaged? You'd have mentioned it if it was...you didn't.
  5. It could have been that but, so what? It could also have been that online was more convenient for him.
  6. There is a big difference between a bank account, i.e. a computer entry, and a safe deposit box. The bank will always advise safe deposit box holders if they are closing as the branch alone does not have access to the boxes in order to move the contents. The bank has one key, the box holder has the other, both are needed for access and the banks do not have duplicates, for obvious reasons.
  7. So he hit just the screen and did no damage, is that what your OP is about? What would you have "grassed" him to security for?
  8. That is a miserable suggestion bearing in mind that most legitimate Thai Massage (only) shops do not employ the masseuses so do not pay them salaries, they usually only get customer tips.
  9. Here we go. Why is there at least one like you on almost every thread. Post your advice to the OP by all means but don't start slagging off other people's comments He hasn't "slagged off" anyone's comments, he expressed his opinion, that's all.
  10. What are unnamed cards? He probably means that there is no account holders name on the debit card.
  11. BBL cards are known for being picky/selective about which online traders their debit cards work with even if all the options are activated. For example, BBL will not authorise online card payments to Tops using my debit card but the same card can be used in the drivers card machine on delivery. It works for many other vendors here, and for international purchases. Queries to the bank always result in "it's already activated, don't know what the issue is, ask Tops". Queries to Tops result in "no issue with us, check with your bank".
  12. It's because the IOs are in on the deal. Allegedly. Many schools offer two types of ED visa, one standard charge visa where classes are attended, the other in which (for an extra fee and a blind eye) attendance is not required except on those "special" days". Surprise visits would defeat the object of the IOs exercise.
  13. With all due respect, if you care so little about your demise, why bother with the BS (as you put it) of having your ashes shipped back to the US when they can be disposed of here?
  14. Good Q,having lived here for a few years now you notice these things ,twice now ,seen a rear half shaft on the road looks if wheel bearing has collapsed ,or crown wheel /pinion ,due to lack of oil has collapsed whoe lot falls out. Thai friend of mine has a car repair business he had in a Mitsubishi G Wagon owner had run it out of water cooked the engine had to replace the engine ,he said he is always replacing battery's ,owners never check water levels battery dry, plates twisted, replace only . Our neighbour has a Ford pickup known them for a few years now ,far as i know never been in to Ford for a full service ,no money ,and I would say the no money bit is a problem with a lot of car/pickup owners Thanks for confirming that you could not justify your assertion. The "example" of your neighbour doesn't count as it is nothing but speculation on your part. Replacing batteries that needed topping-up is not evidence of Thais not servicing vehicles in general, everyone has to replace batteries. One empty radiator is not indicative of "Thais not servicing their cars". And a couple of half shafts on the road. You're expecting it to be credible that you stop and forensically examine vehicle parts at the side of the road? Laughable. Your "examples" when compared with the approximately 10.5m vehicles on the roads here mean nothing. Have you ever been to any manufacturers service department and seen how busy they invariably are with people having their cars serviced? Ever seen how busy Cockpit and B-Quik centres are? Why do you think that your friend still has a repair business - it's because Thais need places to get their cars serviced and repaired!
  15. Bit pedantic? Not at all pedantic, read michaellee's comment that I was responding to then maybe you'll understand my reply.
  16. Where in Bangkok were these checkpoints and at what times?
  17. I'm sorry but if, by now, you don't understand the point I'm trying to make I don't think anything I say can help you. I don't need your "help"!
  18. Which is obvious and pointless. Also factual and relevant to your "argument".
  19. Really? Have you had access to read the contract in English and in full? I don't need to see individual contracts, these types of specialised equipment acquisitions always come with whatever is needed to operate the equipment and maintain it and specialised training for the operators. Your contrary assumption that they do not re F-35s is ridiculous.
  20. I didn't say that they are more professional/less corrupt, I said that they are not involved in each others' equipment purchases, which is factual.
