Never seen any banking docs that say "particularly for residents of Thailand" in over 30+ years of working in banking. I said that, I did not write that the UK banks' documents said that. It is a fact, though that Lloyds International in the IOM will not open new accounts for residents of Thailand. I started working in banking, in LLoyds, in 1969 and never saw it written down, either, but I do know LBI's policy.

The problem for the OP may be that they're not UK banks. Lloyds won't entertain new accounts for Thailand residents.

No UK bank will open new accounts remotely, particularly for residents of Thailand, don't waste your time trying to find one that does. UK accounts are only available for UK residents

They're not restricted from driving those vehicles.
