  1. It could be that they can open a Bangkok Bank account for you as they advertise. Call them, or visit their office, that's certainly no more difficult than useless speculation here about what the situation "may" be.
  2. Call them or visit their office, either of those approaches demonstrate more credibility and less chance of time-wasting, non-serious info gathering than an email. They specifically offer a Bangkok Bank account opening service on their website and the fee is B5,000. VAT is 7%, not 17%...if they didn't respond to you how did you get that quote? 3. He wasn't talking about SWIFT, he was talking about WISE. I know what he posted. My comment pointed out that there is more to getting funds into Thai banks than Wise and two specific banks. The OP may not have understood that from his incomplete "B50k" reference that some may think restricted international transfers.
  4. He can't, the OP states that the son was in the RTAF, not the army.
  5. You seem to be blaming the van driver for this, have you read other reports somewhere?
  6. Admin can post whatever they like but the OP links to PhuketGo, not to the Bangkok Post from where the info was sourced.
  7. Where we come from the service charge is paid to the restaurant, regardless of its intended (staff) destination, it is not a gratuity paid directly by the customer to the waitress, that is why it is VAT-able.
  8. And then the staff just point to the service charge and VAT notation that is usually shown on the menu somewhere and you say "bye-bye" after you've paid the proper bill.
  9. Because it's supposed to go directly to the staff, who, as individuals, are not VAT registered. Staff working in restaurants that do pay the staff the 10% service charge still get their 10%, the VAT doesn't affect them.
  10. It is "common practice" because it's the way it has to be done. VAT is charged on the whole amount of the bill, i.e. the B110 is VAT assessable, not just the B100. The final figure is the same in whichever order the calculation is made.
  11. Of course, they don't and that is not what happened.
  12. The shop owner understood English? Or Finnish? As the OP stated, she understood "fck you!", "Thailand buffalo!" and "Thailand fck you!"
  13. All explained in the full OP.
  14. Could it be that you didn't read the OP link?
  15. Welcome to AN posters! The full OP clearly stated that the pub is being investigated for that!
  16. Untrue according to his video shown in the post following yours (1:15).
  17. "...will items be stopped and you paid separately?" Depends on your luck and the value and which delivery system is used (mail or courier).
  18. That's not true. I've bought many items on Ali and when I receive them I don't go back on their site until I want to order something else.
  19. It's just the shower that he wants to fix, not his HEARING!
