  1. This isn't "making the news in Thailand", it's just been reported where there is an obvious interest in it and republished here.
  2. Definitely cheaper than blowing a head gasket or worse. Why would not changing the oil result in the head gasket blowing?
  3. Unless your venue is owned by the police, like Bamboo Beach Pattaya (https://www.facebook.com/BambooBeachPattaya???? you can do whatever you want. Regardless of who you claim owns it, that appears to be a restaurant and restaurants are allowed to be open.
  4. Because manufacturers recommend that oil changes are made at mileage intervals or after time periods, regardless of whether the vehicle has been driven.
  5. But prostitution doesn't go on in go-go bars. that happens off premises, doesn't it?
  6. That's incorrect, Barfly and the Novotel Lotus were there at the same time as each other, the Novotel Lotus was not built where Barfly was. Barfly morphed into the Kangaroo Sports Bar on the same premises and closed a couple of years ago, many years after the Novotel was built in 1994.
  7. All the 'Artist' bars closed well before COVID. Mojo's and the The Office too. That's not "all the bars in 33". What you meant was, some bars in 33 closed before Covid.
  8. So the pool bars with bar-fineable girls are "go-go" bars? No, they're definitely not.
  9. What does that mean? Are you suggesting that Asian expats don't age or that there haven't been Asian expats here already for decades? The aging western expats don't age any quicker than the Asians and what makes you suggest that when the current western expats expire there'll be none of their countrymen to replace them as has happened for the last sixty or seventy years?
  10. There's still plenty of bars in 33 (and 22), they may be temporarily closed pending the re-opening but they sure did not "all die before Covid".
  11. Why do you say that? What's the problem with buying alcohol in Thailand, you can have as much as "he and his cronies" have, can't you?
  12. "The science"? What science are you referring to? Do you mean the little bit that you have selected and then both misinterpreted and misrepresented? Which beach-front properties are "going to be under water before long"? Could you be more specific with your claims...with evidence that what you posted is accurate?
  13. All the scientists say the world is getting warmer and the ice caps are melting and sea level is rising fast. "All the worlds scientists" say that and no scientists say that it's cyclical and expected? All of them? Where did you get that from?
  14. Load of tosh. Who's "BS desperation"? You didn't notice that the article isn't written by anyone in Thailand?
  15. The OP was not comparing the qualities of the Hamptons to those of Hua Hin (some posters who didn't read the article properly were). It is just about city residents buying a place at the beach, that's all, like some Americans buying in the Hamptons...apples and apples, so to speak.
  16. No one is comparing Hua Hin as a resort to the Hamptons, there's not one word about that. The article is comparing the actions of some Bangkok residents to those of Americans buying in the Hamptons, that's all... "As with the New York getaway, many Bangkok residents want to escape the traffic and pollution, with the coronavirus pandemic nudging them to make a move"
