An American named Karta Singh Harta. Hmmm. New one on me.
maybe for you, a lot less Fox news and the realisation that Bill O'Reilly isn't really the 'no spin zone'

Hi
I posted a while back and since no one posted recent information, I thought I might share the following ;-
TAT Had Yai - There are many agencies that provide minivan from Hatyai to Penang. It costs about 300 Baht/person. Their daily service leaves Hatyai about 2-3 times: 9.00, 12.00, 15.00 Hrs. You have to contact at their offices.
Pan Siam Enterprise Tel. 074 237440.Davis Tour Tel. 074236593.Hatyai Inter Top Tour Tel. 074 354397.Hopefully some TV members will find it useful, others will leave irrelevant comments -
Hi

If you get a Nakhonchai card you can order tickets by phone.
Hi. To don't need the card to book via the phone. You pay for the to key at 7/11
If you want to book via Nakhobchai website then you need membership card THB50 and 5% discount.
You must pay for these bookings via ATM.

Hi
Does anyone recall the name of a book written by a British female who married a local isan guy and settled on isan for 5 years or so? I think I remember the title including a reference to Mekong, moon and whisky.
Thanks

I come from a country where 82% of people believe a man (and it has to be a man) doing incantations in Latin (and it has to be Latin) turns bread and wine into the body and blood of a dead king, and his followers regularly (at least once a week) participate in a Cannibalistic ritual (eating and drinking his flesh and blood). Many believe by doing this they will know morality and will live forever in a paradise after death. Many believe that he will also ward off evils including illness. Strange beliefs some people have.

Hi Ked
Thats nice to know
In my OP, I asked 'What's the cost, duration, where to buy the ticket at source and any issues/scams when crossing into Thailand'
Do you remember the cost of the bus and where you purchased the ticket from? Do you remember the departure times etc...
I appreciate the reply

ok kids, how does this relate to the OP?

Hi
Anyone done this trip recently? Whats the cost, duration, where to buy the ticket at source and any issues/scams when crossing into Thailand.
I'm flying from BKK to PP, but am unsure of my return date, so bus might be a better option.
I know of the 'issues' at the border when crossing into Cambodia but not in the other direction.
Thanks

i second that - sometimes if u have been too long in Thailand u over-expect issues (based on experience), but if you approach the information office like a tourist, a wee bit of pleading, you can get what you need and saves you much hassle. Just expect an initial no, but if you are polite and insistent, then usually it becomes obvious that is easier just to write the note. It usually works for me.
