Richard, I think the original news item & your comment both hold water. The country has a 5 baht coin. Most things, outside of supermarkets, will move by 5 baht (+/-). When noodles are 40 baht, that is a fair rise. Yesterday=40 baht, today 45 baht. I watched our chicken rice vendor go from 40...45 & now 50. Your perception of skyrocketing is different to mine, which is fair enuff.🙃🙃

I'm out of Thailand at the moment. Back in June for annual Jomtien extension. Soi 5 IO sounds like so much fun over the last 9 months. It used to be so easy, walk in walk out. Calling my agent or extending stay.🙃🙃

Interesting thoughts/comments. I originally came here, holidaying with a mate, nearly 20 years back. We both probably thought ourselves "superior" and (without realising) insulted some locals in Pattaya. Cut to today. Me, married & 11 years living here. Wife 6 years younger. Mate still visits his 31 year younger mistress. He still calls Thai's "stupid." I appreciate many are uneducated. I learn't a long time ago there are many people in my village who may be uneducated but they are far from stupid. I'm past insulting others (hopefully.)🙃🙃
