    I agree. Some are common sense, unless you are a naive dullard, some are plain wrong, (walking is a great way to see places and things you won't see from a scam ridden taxi) and I am happy to hold hands and kiss my Thai g/f in public. If I didn't she would soon be on my case. The whole point of visiting new countries and new cities is that you discover things you didn't know, but keep your wits about you. A normal travel guide is a good start.

    No, and I never was., I am more than happy with that. I socialise with a very small group of like minded friends, not all the time, but regularly enough. I like my own space and value time on my own. I don't do festivals. If I am deemed to be anti social; well I am happy with that title too.

    What? There are no 'both sides' to this, you have to care, they don't care at all. As it's you that has broken the rule, their 'easy way out', as you oddly put it, is to just refuse an extension. Sorry to say this, but I think you need to wake up a bit to the reality of Thailand and your own position. I wish you luck, I think that you may need it.

    Perhaps it would be best if you actually went onto the immigration website and read the rules for yourself. You seem to be replacing fact with wishful thinking. Good luck with that.

    That is a huge statement, chances are very high that he/she will not accept it. Its in direct violation of the extension rules and although IOs do have some discretion, its by no means certain that they will exercise it and I personally would not stake my extension on it.

    That is bad advice. They are usually scrupulous in the matter, so don't take the risk. No good explaining to them. I have heard of them turning down an extension when such a mistake was rectified immediately. If you try to negotiate your way out of it and it doesnt work, a legit agent won't touch you after that. Get an agent to do it for you.

    Yes it will screw things up. My advice is het an agent to do the transaction for you, they can and do navigate this kind of 'mistake'. Keep it in a separate account and take the card off your Mrs.

    McAfee will scan all e mails and downloads before you open them. Just use settings to select that option, that is, if you have McAfee of course .

    I wonder if that was the attitude in Liverpool over the past few months , when a little girl was killed and nobody was prepared to come forward and finger the culprit, until his ex did so. The immature, school play ground attitude of some of these posts is just pathetic.

    Grass ? This is not a school playground, or the exercise yard of a Jail. Yes I would call out illegality.. its called being a responsible citizen and in this case, a responsible Thai visitor. Would you accept open drug dealing in your neighborhood for example?

    Yes I do, as it would be incredibly stupid not to know and follow the law. I don't drink alcohol, so no, I haven't.

    I certainly try not to, as surely everyone does; maybe not you, but most normal people. I certainly follow immigration law, to the letter.

    What tosh. You can't pick and choose what laws you will follow and what you can ignore. Yes, the Thais do that, and look what damage and mayhem results.
