  1. You are a foreigner, not a citizen, you pay tax because you make money here, it's for no other reason, to think otherwise is delusional.
  2. What? There are no 'both sides' to this, you have to care, they don't care at all. As it's you that has broken the rule, their 'easy way out', as you oddly put it, is to just refuse an extension. Sorry to say this, but I think you need to wake up a bit to the reality of Thailand and your own position. I wish you luck, I think that you may need it.
  3. Perhaps it would be best if you actually went onto the immigration website and read the rules for yourself. You seem to be replacing fact with wishful thinking. Good luck with that.
  4. Because you all know it, apparently, so why ask. The guy is asking for advice , not smart arsed comments.
  5. That is a huge statement, chances are very high that he/she will not accept it. Its in direct violation of the extension rules and although IOs do have some discretion, its by no means certain that they will exercise it and I personally would not stake my extension on it.
  6. He will find out for himself, personally, I'm just trying to give good advice, after that, I don't really care
  7. I am trying to save the guy's extension. Its up to him what he does
  8. You need it in for 5 months, two before and three after,
  9. That is bad advice. They are usually scrupulous in the matter, so don't take the risk. No good explaining to them. I have heard of them turning down an extension when such a mistake was rectified immediately. If you try to negotiate your way out of it and it doesnt work, a legit agent won't touch you after that. Get an agent to do it for you.
  10. Yes it will screw things up. My advice is het an agent to do the transaction for you, they can and do navigate this kind of 'mistake'. Keep it in a separate account and take the card off your Mrs.
  11. McAfee will scan all e mails and downloads before you open them. Just use settings to select that option, that is, if you have McAfee of course .
  12. I wonder if that was the attitude in Liverpool over the past few months , when a little girl was killed and nobody was prepared to come forward and finger the culprit, until his ex did so. The immature, school play ground attitude of some of these posts is just pathetic.
  13. Grass ? This is not a school playground, or the exercise yard of a Jail. Yes I would call out illegality.. its called being a responsible citizen and in this case, a responsible Thai visitor. Would you accept open drug dealing in your neighborhood for example?
  14. Yes I do, as it would be incredibly stupid not to know and follow the law. I don't drink alcohol, so no, I haven't.
  15. I certainly try not to, as surely everyone does; maybe not you, but most normal people. I certainly follow immigration law, to the letter.
  16. What tosh. You can't pick and choose what laws you will follow and what you can ignore. Yes, the Thais do that, and look what damage and mayhem results.
  17. We are not talking about 'sin' here. He broke immigration law.
  18. Why? They are not a charity. Follow the rules or leave. The Thai's have absolutely no responsibility for this man, a man who can't even follow simple immigration rules. The Thais have enough bottom feeders in their own population, without putting up with foreign ones too.
  19. I just don't get you people. He overstays, as too many do, then you whine and moan about the immigration requirements here, that are in place because of idiots like him. Some people on here clearly need a logic implant.
  20. I would not break any Forum's confidentiality. Members have a right to anonymity and free speech on here.
  21. Hiding illegally in a City of 5 million, with little more than a brass penny to your name, is hardly Einstein level intelligence. They only didn't catch him because they weren't looking. Good on the citizens who reported him. I would have done the same.
  22. His IQ is probably lower than my Shih Tzu and he isn't very bright at all.
  23. So what, they broke the Law, no sympathy whatsoever. Its the actions of idiots like this that mean the rest of us have to put up with 90 day reports, entry permits and only 12 month extensions. Throw them all out, so well done immigration.
