  1. topping up every 6 months, for 200 baht, is hardly a major scam, and is perhaps sensible. .
  2. Gas refills come from a small bottle fitted with a standard regulator. It should cost no more than an extra 200 Baht on to a standard circa 4/500 Baht cleaning job. Any more and you are being ripped off. Very few one man band aircon cleaners do repairs. Same with car aircons. Little guy in a lockup by the side of the road will re-gas for 200 Baht.
  3. The filter on mine was partially blocked after 6 years of use. My normal service guy took the whole thing to pieces and cleaned it out. Took him quite a time and he charged an extra 200 Baht in top of his normal 500. No problem since. I think that there is no need to replace it unless the aircon is very old.
  4. Do you mean an Extension of Stay? My Non IMM O Visa was issued in London 8 years ago
  5. Not a fan of Google then?
  6. I do wish you all the best. The good thing about being older is that life should be easy, relaxing the stress free. You need that, as we all do, so I wish you all the best in sorting it out. If you ever feel that you need someone to off load to privately, just PM me, we can at least chat via PMs.
  7. Yep. Its easy for us to give advice on a forum, but hard to follow it in reality. I just know this, I was incredibly miserable during that time myself, and I have been happy ever since. We all have one life, some people live it in the best way that they can, helping where they can, not doing ill to others, but basically living their own one life. Others dedicate their whole lives to helping others and sacrifice much, if not all, in doing so. I would not criticize the later, but I follow the former. The solution with this lady, if there is one, does not lie with you, your wife, nor indeed Sheryl, who gives good advice and guidance. Once you acknowledge that, and act on it, the path forward may become clearer.
  8. I've been there mate, back your bags and leave, or pack her bags and off load her. If your wife follows you, or agrees with you, all well and good, if she doesnt, well you know where her loyalties lie. My advice, don't destroy your life in trying to sort out someone else , who you really can't help. In my case, I threw the said person out of my house, paid her off and out of my life and I was all the better for it.
  9. Just stay away from her. People like her rarely accept help, unless it's from a medical professional and trying to placate individuals with an anger/rage problem is almost always counter productive. She needs professional help by the sounds of it, so stay clear until that works; or doesn't.
  10. I have never found that to be true.
  11. Well let's hope this move by the Russians, a move of desperation, just ends up being the reason that more of them are eliminated on the battlefield, during the coming Ukrainian offensive. Good move I'd say.
  12. There is a very good reason why museum pieces are in a museum. They are death traps against modern weapons, anyone who thinks otherwise is lying, deluded or more likely both.
  13. not the same thing at all
  14. You could do what I do each year. Go to a local lawyer and swear an affidavit on your address, cost for me is 1,000 Baht and such a fairly meaningless bit of paper is acceptable to Immigration. It also gets you a TM30 if you go to that desk.
  15. The sooner that retched man is eliminated the better.
  16. Their aircraft are terrible. To date, they have not be able to design and build a jet capable of operating off a carrier. Their civil aircraft are poor, uneconomic knock off designs that don't meet western spec.
  17. What you haven't mentioned, is that in that time, the level of family and personal debt has rocketed, with many now living with a high debt burden as they try to catch up with more advanced countries in terms of the general standard of living. This has ended in tears for many families. https://tradingeconomics.com/thailand/households-debt-to-gdp
  18. It's a public forum, that is what they are for. To express an opinion on a range of reports and subjects, while not attempting to change anyone's mind, or win a debate. Clear now?
  19. So what? I. for one, am supremely uninterested in their domestic holiday habits. I'm much more interested in what their deeply untrustworthy government are up to,
  20. It wasn't a battery, it was a beer bottle. I do wish people would read the reports carefully.
  21. Now I'm even more confused, not that it matters to me, but it's hard to give advice to the OP if the terms are not what are used in the immigration rules.
