  1. No. Of course not. But, leave it to you, I guess, to think of this first.
  2. Sotten. I had been thinking of sodden, of course. But, I did not want to be too obvious.
  3. You were three years before me. Also, as you say, there were some super nice old houses just north of the campus, which were used as dorms. My cousin did an MA at Penn, and stayed in one of those older houses. Well maintained, and very comfortable.
  4. I am trying to stay IN, not get OUT. Tomorrow, I will order MDF to completely board-up my windows, for example.
  5. No. Not this week. Not next week. Premium sotton sheets are expensive in Thailand, in case you might not know. (Did you mean a favor, or a flavor?) Just one sheet can cost USD80.00, or more. Most likely...MORE.
  6. What he does not realize is that, in fact, I have always enjoyed gallows humor. Gallows humor is probably the best. UNFORTUNATELY....these days...due to changes in this world.... Gallows Humor is now called Black Comedy....WHICH, in itself...is a COMPLETE JOKE!!!! So...then...what is this world coming to? Go ask NOAM..... But, so unfortunately, these days.... He cannot talk. So then, just read his books, and listen to his lectures..... https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/arts-letters/articles/dark-humor Maybe, someday, we will not be able to open our mouths, to speak. We will only open them to eat...ultra-processed glop....
  7. In addition: If one had a bag like this, with oven-dried rice, it might even serve as a dehumidifier.
  8. Yet. Not yet. Also... Keep your BIOS updated....routinely.
  9. So sorry, but I forgot to mention the tears.... Of the clown. That was to be Note4, but I forgot. Therefore, I must post this short addendum. Normally, I do not reply to my own Topics. But, this is a special case, since I forgot.... Also, any chance I get, I LOVE to mention MOTOWN Records, which is one of the greatest labels there ever was, back in the time. MOTOWN.... Tears of a Clown: English spelling is strange and confusing. And, this is what is so very good about English.
  10. Dear Folks, As some of you might know by now, bedsheets are overpriced in Thailand. Therefore, some of us often use them until ..... so unfortunately.... they tear....either due to an uncut toenail....or, even more unfortunately, due to untoward antics in bed. I have about 5 bedsheets with tears, all saved up. What is the best way to salvage these sheets, or, at least, put them to a better use. I hate to discard good cotton. Also, I do not want to try to use them as "rags" for mopping up spills. Because, this kind of cloth is just not designed for that. Additionally, I do not want to save them for Halloween, since we are already too old for that.... Once again I will say that I refuse to discard perfectly good bedsheets....just due to a few tears, here and there. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thank you. Regards, Gamma Note: As for new sheets for sleeping.... I will buy in China, where the quality is good and the price is right. I buy ONLY 100-percent cotton sheets. (Very high thread-count, too, and I like heavy sheets...not that crappola garbage...) And, last time I tried to buy a mattress protector in Thailand.....it was an absolute disaster. Never again will I buy curtains, bedsheets, or anything 100-percent cotton in Thailand.... The price here is OUT OF SIGHT....... Also, I have tried to just ignore the tears, and be blind to them... But, no matter how much I try....to close my eyes....the tears just...keep on.... Getting bigger. If only this were not so.
  11. Yes. However, both can fly. And, when you see them in the sky... Then, perhaps, the size difference might help you to differentiate the two. Still, even the bald eagle feeds off carrion, if I am not mistaken. Or, do you have a different opinion, as usual. One should never keep a bird in a cage.... Just clipping toenails.... IMHO....
  12. You mean that....You don't enjoy being chained....once in a while? How uninteresting.
  13. Interesting. In fact: most interesting....! (What year, dare I ask?)
  14. Turkeys rarely fly high. But, they are tasty, still.
  15. Yes. But this is only because you prefer FLIGHTY.
  16. I already stated the real reason. But not, maybe, all the real reasons. Why should I bore you with these?
  17. Yes. I read that months ago. But, I thought he might have recovered....as....he has done in the past from a minor stroke. Anyway....this is sad news. Still, living and TEACHING past the age of 90 is not something that most can do. (He still speaks, however.) And, I did not read this part of the article which you quoted: Really and truly sad. Very sorry to read this.
  18. Surely, you are not saying that you are also a fellow alum of Musk? If so....then....GOOD!!!!! Did you love (live) in the Quad.....too????
  19. Really? And he is one of the ones I have always dearly loved to hear talk. If true, then this is very sad. Sad. (Still, his books, lectures, and videos speak.)
  20. I lost my virginity at a very early age. And, now, I am just so thankful that I have found it.
  21. Good Topic: Where is NOAM when we need him most? Long live Chomsky.
  22. Yes. So, this is why I asked about the best brand of reflective white paint. I might just hang a NASA space blanket outside, to worry the neighbors....temporarily.
