  1. I thought there were supposed to be FOUR....? Where is the FOURTH, then....?
  2. What is one of the most important things that Tucker Carlson, Jordan Peterson, and Elon Musk share in common? Watching these videos, the answer becomes clear: The answer is not all that difficult. What these three geniuses share in common is: All three men deeply admire Elon Musk. And you? Regards, Gamma Note4: And now, my question is, where can I, too, get some of that musk oil?
  3. Not really. CogDis is more about acting in ways which are contrary to one's beliefs. This creates far more stress/anxiety. This stress is only relived when one acts in ways that are congruent with one's beliefs. This resolution is the opposite of dissonance. Festinger is one of my favorite people. Also, Leon Russell. Both leons, I like. And Leon's best tune is maybe... Out in the Woods.
  4. If Harris wins.... It will be a true miracle.
  5. I would have taken it DOUBLY HARD if that Word-Salad Woman had not fallen.
  6. Dear Folks, Anyone here still recall the great William Safire? Where is he now, when we could benefit most from his commentary? If you would read one of his articles about NIXON ON HIS KNEES, then you might appreciate just how far we have fallen, from days of yore.... Everyone recalls the day Nixon sank to his knees, drunk, with Kissinger by his side.... As Nixon prayed for.....something or other. But did this actually happen, as reported by Woodward? Well, this must have been a fantasy, because, as everyone knows..... All USA politicians are atheists. https://www.nytimes.com/1976/03/29/archives/nixon-on-his-knees.html Is there anyone today who is able to write like Safire? Besides....JT....of course. Also, would you say that most USA politicians are complete atheists, pandering to a nation which scores extremely high in religiosity? Just wondering...
  7. I think not. I think democracy is getting stronger. But, maybe not as strong in the USA as in places like Taiwan.
  8. It's fairly simple to explain why there has been a sudden reduction in posting about political opinions on the forum: Most of the members are now, undoubtedly, after Trump's victory, suffering from severe cases of.... Gastroesophageal reflux What is this? Best solution: Just take a break from living in the USA. Come to Thailand. You'll feel right as rain, after stepping off the plane in BKK. Just what the doctor ordered, in fact.
  9. Amazing. Thank you. Is the internet stable? Very nice. I could EASILY see myself there..... Just me and the tea, and no thou, but maybe a crust of bread....
  10. I have never been rigidly either BLACK or WHITE.... i am NOT a racist, as I continue saying.... Still, I DO love this scene....and Robert is a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat....
  11. Speaking of mental disturbances: Then, you would hesitate to say that Kensington Ave, Philly, is a metaphor for the present state of America? Someday....a HARD RAIN is gonna fall......(just to paraphrase the Nobel Laureate, Bob....)
  12. Are you saying that Bickle is a moron? Or, is Bickle the hero of the film? (or antihero...or whatever....)
  13. Dear Folks, Do you believe that Trump is the answer to Travis' prayer, in the first half of the movie? And, do you believe that Trump will GO TO TOWN on the lowlifes, just as did Bickle, in the film, "Taxi Driver"? Personally, I hope he does. Because, Kensington Avenue, in Philly, is far worse than anything Bickle ever saw in his cab. What do you think? Will Trump GO TO TOWN? Best regards, Gamma Note: Here's what I'm talk'n' 'bout.... Someday, a BIG Rain will come....
  14. Thank you. Good to know. 20% higher housing cost is not important.
  15. Well...for sure.... I am no Jonathan Swift. Yet, neither am I a racist, by any means.
  16. YES! I am done, Done, and DONE with political talk. No worries. Thank you for reminding me.
  17. Fortunately, I lack the competency and intelligence, not to mention the drive and resilience, to become a mod. Otherwise, I might be tempted. Also, I lack the wisdom of the typical mod, which is crucial. And, I have no sympathy for ignorance, which is also essential. Unless one is able to forgive ignorance in others, then it would be almost inconceivable for anyone to actually become a mod.
  18. Please kindly be very careful about what you say, in my presence, concerning my beloved fellow alum, ELON. Thank you!
  19. NO, Sir.... a. Actually, I have been against Trump for decades. DECADES. And Global Warming is just one of many reasons. b. But, it took the DEMs and Harris to finally force me to support Trump, in order to defeat the lesser evil. c. I have already posted about the "lesser of two evils":, at least once. c2. As I have stated before... d. The so-called democratic process in America is COMPLETELY broken.... However, it is SURELY not I that broke it. I left America over 45 years ago...when.... America was still America, and not.....
  20. It seems to me that none of the previously discussed methods for dog deterrence is even half as effective as what has always worked for me. What I do, is to take an M-80, glue it near the end of my bamboo walking stick. Then, I use one of those electrical Estes Rocket fuses connected to button I wired near the top of my bamboo stick. When dogs approach, enmasse, I wait until they are within about a meter. Then I just press on the button, and BOOM.... Those dogs go flying.... And they NEVER approach again, as long as they live. You just gotta teach dogs a good lesson, and they are quick learners when you use proper Behavioral Conditioning techniques. I can guarantee that this method will teach dogs what they need to learn, in just one trial. Dogs learn far faster than pigeons, in fact. M-80s are very low cost, and have been around for a very long time. You can't find nothing louder, for the price. And, what do they actually sound like....to the dogs? Most people do not actually KNOW what an M-80 is. They have never actually seen one, up close. When I was young.... We had PLENTY of them..... Cheap as chips, but twice as loud as Frito-Lay chips. Note: You know...these GOOD OLD BOYS from the Southern USA love dogs....But...they love to have fun with explosives....too.
  21. I read your links. I found them extremely interesting. Before reading your excellent comment, I had had only a rudimentary understanding of the high percentage of ethnic Chinese (up to 85%) living in these New Towns. I will need to read more to learn what type of Chinese these might be. For example, my guess is that quite a few might be Hakka. Unfortunately, I do not speak KeJiaHua, although I once had a Hakke GF who was Fine FINE. Also, one of the more famous Hakka People that you might know is President Lee..... Not of Singapore fame. I am talking about LiDengHui.... I guess you might recall him. And, as I recall, he attended university some place in Iowa or Kanasa, or.... He was BIG on farming. And, you know.... With his big smile.... One might almost mistake president Li for someone who grew up in Thailand. If you think those teeth are real, I might bet against it. Here in Thailand, everybody has great teeth.
