  1. That's one of the most beautiful specimens of snake that I have ever seen.
  2. My Dear Friends, Yes. I am worried. I worry that the monsoon we depend on may shift, temporally, and arrive a month or two months later than it normally does, here in Chiang Mai. If this happened to me, then what should I do? Bake in the Hot Season Oven for an extra month? This would actually not bother me because I now have 70,000 BTU/h of Cooling Power, right at my fingertips, anytime I feel like flicking a switch and setting the temp controls to MAX. What I worry about is that the monsoon that Thailand depends upon may become both more extreme and also unpredictable. How would my lawn survive if that were to happen, I wonder.... And what about you? Have you given this important Topic much thought, so far? Of course, we know that this is Global-Warming-related. And, we know that the two most likely candidates for the USA prez, and any others in USA gov, such as senators and congressmen, have ZERO interest and will to do the right thing. Also, now that we have delayed many decades, there is no longer enough time to avert what is bound to happen, because.... The inertia is already baked into the atmospheric system, not to mention the inertia of our oceans, and....etc., etc., etc. So then, might as well forget about any unreasonable hope of ameliorating or lessening the impact already in the cards, Warmingly Speaking..... How much do you worry about this? What will you do to avoid, personally, the impacts upon both you and yours? For example, will you try to find some Safe Haven, for the remaining twenty years of your life? I think twenty is probably Tops, if one is feeling very optimistic. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/10/04/climate/south-asia-monsoon-climate-change.html#:~:text=Scientists blame global warming from,we see in monsoon patterns.” AI is crazy, yes...but....much of what this AI has reproduced here seems OK, to me. https://www.economist.com/asia/2024/07/18/climate-change-is-making-the-monsoon-more-dangerous Listening to an AI tell us what we need to know about increasing Monsoon variability and intensification is always good for a laugh... However, I see nothing else particularly funny about this Topic. Do you expect to see huge changes during the next five to ten years, here in Chiang Mai? And, in other areas of Thailand? Fondest regards, Gamma
  3. Bankruptcy may not be the worst that lies ahead, provided that James Hansen is proved correct. We may see Venus on planet Earth before we know it. Neither Harris nor Trump care to do ANYTHING to stop such a result from occurring.
  4. You are asking me, again, how this will end? I think I already submitted an incisive and prescient Topic answering JUST this very question. If you are asking me to repeat what I have already clearly stated, then: The end of the world is nigh. Meaning the Human World, of course. Some bacteria and archaea may survive, but nothing more. Yes, I fear that due to this election in 2024... It will soon be only the extremophiles that shall inherit the wind, I mean the Earth....such as animals like this: Therefore, Sir, you are entirely justified in instructing members here to, as you so aptly put it.... "fasten your seatbelts" .... Good advice, for sure!!!!
  5. Just had a heavy shower here, about two hours ago. It was a pleasure to see the rain, again, after so many dry days. Re the election, I will continue to watch. When I get older and have grandchildren, I want to be able to tell them that I lived through the entire experience, from beginning to climax.
  6. Perhaps, the guys checking this product mistakenly believe this might be some sort of mechanism used for self-gratification. This confusion might cause problems. Just a thought.
  7. Dear Folks, I must admit that I am REALLY looking forward to tonight, and to watching the elections, non-stop, no matter how long it takes to get a result, maybe months I am prepared to not sleep, in fact. Still, I wonder what is the best state to be in, during all this watching. As for me, I have two hot-water kettles (2500 watts and 3000 watts), and 5 kilos of Sichan Tea. I am up for it, even if this proves to be a very long night, and an even longer nightmare. What about you? How many here will get drunk, and stay drunk, until the dust finally settles, and a “winner” has been chosen, even though, as everyone knows, there are NO WINNERS in the 2024 election. And, if not drunk, then what will you eat to sustain you during this long process? As for me, I have toast and honeydew melon, ready to go. It’s not so easy for me to find ripe melons here at my house. I had to pay extra for the two I bought today. So it will be honeydew, toast, and Tea, with No Lemon! Also, what are the best channels to watch the USA election this year? And, further, what else have I forgotten to ask about, this election eve in Thailand? For sure, the next 24 hours will be a once in a lifetime experience…and I mean… It’s gonna be a GAS, GAS, GAS!!!! I am becoming more excited by the hour. No doubt, it’s the same for you. Tomorrow morning, you can even tell me if it was as good for you as it was for me. Just remember… Don’t cry when its over because…its gonna be a Gas Gas Gas…. All the way! Best regard, Gamma NOTE4: Speaking of Gas and Indigestion....It's ONLY the Stones and Rock and Roll that can help. And, the Stones have been chosen in the past by US candidates to provide plenty of music for the American Political Experience. It's gonna be....WILD WILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Good Luck...but... ONLY if you will be voting for the one and only savior and protector of organized human existence..TRUMP. Vote for Trump, and you have my blessing.
  9. OK. Good! Now you are being humorous, and I, for one, enjoy it.
  10. How much longer will you continue to state the obvious here? You are stating the obvious, which nobody finds humorous. Humor depends upon surprise and shock, etc. Get back to me when you can shock me.... Tks!
  11. I was not attempting to calculate the speed I stated. I used 30 feet height from the ground, of 3rd floor. Anyway, it really does not matter that much, unless you love Newton. Far more interesting to calculate the reasons for the shoddy parking garage wall construction. And, also, the surprise on the woman's husband's face when she told him.....Honey...I went flying today.
  12. Yes. I agree that Oliver was once amusing, many years ago. Now, most of his humor emanates exclusively from his own private bubble, and is rarely humorous.
  13. Actually, mass does have relevance, unless we are talking about a perfect system, with no air resistance to muck up the calculations. Unfortunately, in Thailand, there is some sort of atmosphere we must take into account. But this is not what I was saying. We CAN use F=ma to derive all the equations required to know how fast the car was travelling when it impacted the ground.
  14. Not really dementia, in my case. I am a very "fast-study". Just listening to a few words from Rogan, and I am amazingly accurate at detecting someone who has a Giant Ego, Supreme Overconfidence, resulting in the spread of BS and inaccuracies around the world. Similar to Alex Jones, and Deepak Chopra, and many more. I would never do such a thing.
  15. I try to never leave my gated house, my compound.
  16. I know this from Newtonian (classical) Physics. Easy enough to calculate using the laws of Classical Mechanics. If you understand F=ma, then you can calculate velocity and momentum and force exerted on the ground by the car, and likely force of driver's head on windshield (windscreen). This is why Physics is so relevant in our everyday lives.
  17. This Topic has already DISTORTED the actual meaning of what it is to be liberal. Also, no point in fact-checking Rogan. He does not know enough to be accurate about anything, in the first place. When he makes mistakes, they are not intentional, but rather just due to his ignorance and stupidity. He holds himself out to be an authority, a fount of knowledge. Yet he is as shallow as the shallowest of pools. Rogan's only strength is that he has somehow managed to gather around him a veritable army of dumb-A followers, who are even dumber than Xi's 50-cent army. Rogan and his ignorance is dangerous, at least in some ways. I never heard of this man of short stature until last week.
  18. Right. This is why I moved to Thailand. Another thin country, IMHO.
  19. Yes. He is CLOUDED BY THE LIGHT..... He is not paying attention to REALITY, but to the Light from Heaven, the Heaven of the Democratic Party. And, unfortunately, he Sees through the Glass.....DARKLY. He seems to HATE TRUMP so much that his perspective may have been sorely warped. Just a guess, of course. Just BLINDED BY THE LIGHT....so unfortunately....
  20. No problem...because... At least I am smart enough to derive just about anything from this simple equation.... This is what is so nice about Physics, and science in general.
  21. His demographic is one that is not smart enough to vote. And, Harris is STILL toast.
  22. It's OK with me if this will get Harris out of Washington. Our goal is the same.
  23. Rogan? Again? Some guy of stature from Newark endorses Trump, and this is important?
  24. Just a case of following one's emotions rather than science. Most religious zealots pay very little attention to reality. Reality is not important to them, until it, one day, jumps up and bites them. How many members of the US congress have taken at least one year of Physics, Organic-Inorganic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and cellular Biology? Probably none. How stupid is that? Don't they realize that science is becoming ever-more important to understand our reality? Total nitwits. This is why....one reason why... America is a Failed State. And, it's far too late now. YES, REALLY, the End of the World is nigh. This is no longer just a joke in any issue of The New Yorker....
