Hi Folks, My phone died.... How can I survive and thrive without a phone. My A55 will be returned to the shop...very soon. After that...I will have no phone. Can I survive without a phone? And, if using just computers, laptops and desktops.... How to do this? I am tired of smartphones.... No doubt, there is a way.... But....not exactly sure how..... Any ideas? Back in the day, we did business without smartphones..... We used faxes and emails.... But, these days, one must still communicate with guys who use messaging.....on their phones. Therefore....just using a computer with good internet connection..... What is the best way to still be able to keep in touch.... WITHOUT a phone of one's own. Is this possible? Regards, Gamma

By the way.... Do you have an inkling just how long it takes to move 15 Terabytes from Google Drive to any other account....UNLESS...you have a commercial account with Google? MONTHS or YEARS, even..... IF you have a commercial account....probably faster...but I do not know about that....

I have it split between two accounts. It's cheaper that way. Using Google One.... But, one account's storage I use is not shared with the other accounts.... As you can see.....I have already reduced my storage on one account...by a LOT..... From 15 to 8.15....TB

A LOT.... It's a subscription, as you know.... I had to transfer from FREE storage at the uni to .....lots of money.... But, that is not the half of it. Almost impossible to quickly move data off Google Drive to somewhere else....VERY SLOW.... I have lots of experience with this.... Almost impossibly slow. Anyway...the lesson is.... DO NOT TRUST GOOGLE....EVER.... Google is like GOD..... I am sure you recall the story of..... Never forget... Google, like God....is all powerful. There is no higher power than Google which can hold Google to account....for anything.... Yet.... God can do no evil.

Yes. Until you, just as did I, receive error messages from Android stating that this app, and that app, is making your phone run slower.... Then.... DEATH to the Phone.... For sure.

i agree with you. The only problem for me..... Trying to talk Bombay English to Google Support. If it really comes down to being compelled to listen to Bombay English...then..... OK. Thank you. Google seems unwilling to sell the Pixel Pro to me.... Being that I am in Thailand. Also, I have been on the phone with people from BOMBAY discussing this ..... for over an hour. They know a lot about Gin, but not much about customer service, it seems. One can hardly understand their "English"..... for darn sure. Total waste of time talking to Bombay!

Still on line with Google One.... But, The Big G says it cannot send this phone to Thailand.... What gives? We all thought that Google was a Global company...... Apparently not? How do you get this phone in Thailand?

Tks again, for the informative video. Still, most of the video discusses features not used in real life. One thing....If one already has a subscription to Google One with over 5 TBytes of storage, or 10 TBytes....then an extra 2 TBytes is not a selling point. It might be better if Google would just provide this phone for FREE, given that Google will reap mucho info from users. I have over 10 terabytes, already, on Google One..... So, the offer of 2 extra TBytes is of no interest to me. Just want a better phone which integrates best with Google Services.... Note: Most of the 10 terabytes of information I have stored on my Google One Google Drive accounts are just videos saved of Trump, and just about every video ever captured of Trump, beginning when he was just the average New-Yorker, and when most people had never heard of him....back when he was just a lowly cadet at West Point.....

Does anyone recall the CHROME BOOK? What I would like is to buy a phone that completely integrates with Google. I use Google Products every day. So then... I would like a phone that completely integrates with Google Drive. I lost a lot of data from LINE and WeChat, a day ago...just because.... LINE is one of the worst pieces of software engineering known to Man. I just wish that everyone would use some MESSAGING app made by Google, COMPLETELY backed up by Google, to Google Drive. I want to see Google get even bigger. Google Search is now just, basically, nothing more than a shopping site. However, this does not mean that Google does not also offer many invaluable resources, for free, to Humanity.... Which it actually does. This is why I would like to buy a phone which is more integrated with Google. And, as BUBBLEGUM said....a Google phone, for me, might be the best choice. One more point: Years ago, Google stood up to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Google, even today, never kowtows to the CPC. If you like the commies, then, by all means, buy a commie phone. I doubt this offers Android 14. And, anyway, the Pixel 9 XL offers 7 years of upgrades and support. Better for me.... Since.... I plan to live seven more years. BUBBLEGUM, just my opinion, provided good advice.... Buy a Google phone. Maybe not good for some.... Yet, it might be good for some users who love Google, as do I. (Just wish Google would get back on track, the old track (Google will NEVER return to the great company it once was. Google is now in decline.))
