As you say, since it is half pet... I won't allow it in the house. It can charge overnight in the garage. I have not much use for a robot, except maybe to assemble widgets or something. Sure. What I am stating is that an AI need not be sentient, or have gained any semblance of sentience, for it to spell the doom and destruction to ALL mankind. There are many possible scenarios, such as a minor error or misinterpretation of some command, or some automated direction. It is already the case that much of the performance of AIs is rather opaque. Then, as I already stated, once you get to superhuman coding, and let the coding run for days or months, in order to complete some desired task, there is no assurance that just one tiny thing might go wrong...one tiny thing out of 100-billion tiny things. So, even if AI never reaches self-awareness, or never reaches the point where it develops motivations unto itself, there is plenty that can go wrong, and will go wrong. Please feel free to express any contrary opinion you like. It's a free world..... For now, that is.....

Although I do have WiFi function, if one could call it that, I would say that it is not worth using. Again, just google the functionality of the Panasonic app, and then form an opinion. The question is: How good is Daikin after-sales service and tech support, and lead times to repair a failed unit, compared to that of Panasonic.... This seems of utmost importance. The specs of the Panasonic are equal or better than the Daikin, meaning the top of the line model This includes rate of dehumidification, SEER values, noise levels in dB, etc. On paper, the Panasonic is a better machine. In use, however, I cannot say which brand is more reliable, and which machine rules..concerning value for money, and how long it will last before the first repair is required, and also rate of factory defects, and number of defects at the time of delivery to the customer. ============ Still, if Daikin is a truly quiet machine, then this brand might be an acceptable, or even a preferred, alternative.

OK, I am somewhat impressed with your parabolic dish. However, I would be a bit more impressed if you had set up a very large array of radio receivers in southern Thailand to detect anomalies in the background radiation. And, I will be SUPER impressed when you detect a cyclops, or many cyclopes, with your parabolic dish, and then send me a few images. Still, very nice that you have set up your small dish. This is the kind of thing that makes life interesting. You really need to get into radio astronomy, as well, since the cloud cover there where you are makes it impossible to do much else.
