I love house cats. In fact, I love cats of all kinds. One solution would be to ask citizens of Thailand to trade in their dogs for cats, instead. This is what they do to solve the problem of gun ownership. The gov requires gun owners to trade in their guns for some sort of price or compensation. Therefore: Please...EVERYBODY.... Just trade in your dog for a cat....PLEASE !!!! And, you will be far happier, too. Cats are extremely low maintenance. I never needed to give my cat a bath. Cats don't like baths. I have not had cats for many years. Instead, I just enjoy the neighbors' cats. Also, I have never been bitten by a neighborhood cat. Sometimes, they just come over to my compound for company, and to lie around in the shade. They chase off the pigeons, too. Love Cats!!!!

Many dogs roaming around free in residential areas are, in truth, nothing but WILD ANIMALS with powerful, sharp teeth. They are very aggressive and territorial. If only gun carrying in Thailand were not restricted...because...then... I would consider carrying a saw-off shotgun when hiking or walking. One blast with 12 Gauge Buckshot, and.... Game Over! This is the best way. After about a year, or so... The population of wild dogs in Thailand would be a thing of the past.

This is just a snapshot at one moment in time. If you watch the video I uploaded, then, during one point in the video you can hear a plane overflying. Almost impossible to find a place in Thailand without planes buzzing us. This is just part of the experience of living in this modern age. We will not have another few quiet years until we have our next pandemic. I am looking forward to it, actually.

Just an observation about Human Behavior: I have often wondered if the Reason for Raising... Large and Ferocious dogs...might be motivated by.... Some lack of endowment on the owners part. Or, maybe, a feeling of powerlessness on the owner's part. Are these Big Dogs just a cheap and easy way for the owner to Compensate for Something Missing in his/her life? Perhaps, the owner is just attempting to live through his dog... A life which is unattainable for him/her, otherwise. Obviously, this represents an abnormal coping mechanism on the part of the owner. Just what Abnormal Psychology this might be...is multifaceted...and.... Probably not one size fits all. But, for sure, Size Matters to these owners. How very sad it is.

We need a law. Any dog over two pounds (one kilo) must be housed in a zoo, same as lions and tigers and hippos. When I lived in China, and visited GuangDong, I ate as much of the meat on offer from the fast-food dog restaurants there as possible. Unfortunately, not sure if they are still in business. The Chinese authorities know how to deal with out-of-control dog populations in places where humans live. So, in this case, just do what the Chinese do. It's the very BEST way.... We no longer live in the Jungle. Most people live in residential areas where GIANT Mastiffs are out of place. If we wish to keep dangerous dogs alive....THEN.....this is the very best place for them: Dangerous Dog Zoos..... Let them live there.

British Man Arrested in Thailand After 25-Year Visa Overstay
GammaGlobulin replied to snoop1130's topic in Chiang Mai News
So then, how did this happen in the first place? My only guess is that this was not a planned thingy. Likely, the guy overstayed his visa by a few days. Then, he became anxious. And then anxiety turned to fear. As months went by, he became even more fearful of the authorities. And finally, there was nothing to do but "go to ground" like Peter O'Toole. But, of course, his luck could not last forever. And, then finally, he ends up in the monkey cage. I do not envy his present position, at all. -

British Man Arrested in Thailand After 25-Year Visa Overstay
GammaGlobulin replied to snoop1130's topic in Chiang Mai News
If this is true, and he cannot be let out on bail, then overstay of this length is not worth it, and ill-advised. I would never attempt such a thing. And, think of all the stress throughout the past 25 years. What, I ask you, makes someone do such a thing, anyway??? -
British Man Arrested in Thailand After 25-Year Visa Overstay

You mean he has been incarcerated? If so, then that is penalty aplenty. It's not the money. It's being in the monkey cage that becomes the main deterrent. -
Bugs love to live in bamboo. The older it gets, the more bugs living inside the bamboo. Much better, in this climate, to build using teak wood. But, as the locals know, the wood houses you see around here are extremely HOT. They don't like them. Why not build, instead, RAMMED EARTH using local mud and clay? As in: This is what I would do. Plenty of cheap labor around these parts. Note: This is a great video, but the problem is that the builder's head keeps getting in the way of the building process. At least, this guy speaks passable Thai, it seems...Also, good sense of humor. This is the kind of Tourist most needed in Thailand. Good quality Tourist. And, smart enough to build RAMMED EARTH DWELLING, too!!!!

Difficult to insulate and will waste electricity on Air Conditioning. Also, very noisy. You will hear every plane flying overhead. Roosters will become bothersome. Why not just attach bamboo to some existing concrete structure? Bamboo would be good if in a cool and smoke-free environment, with low human population.

What I had, I imagine, was just an umbilical hernia. A tear of approx two inches, as I recall. Still: USD5000.00 in 1990 dollars, even without in-patient treatment. I cannot afford another one. Therefore: My golfing days are a thing of the past.
