Frozen bananas. I thought I was the only one. I keep peeled frozen bananas at the ready, for when I have a hankering for ice cream, but dare not eat it.

Dear Folks, This world, in case you may not have recently noticed, is moving just too fast for us oldsters and also you youngsters. It goes without saying that we oldsters are quickly becoming outdated and redundant. But what of you youngsters? Are you, also, concerned about becoming redundant, these days, even though you will not become outdated before you, too, become redundant? I feel great angst anytime I become less distracted, and occasionally focus on reality. Do you, too, find yourselves, at times, unable to distract yourselves enough, through the watching of YouTube videos, in order to lessen your angst about things to come, difficult things that you KNOW are about to hit you, in the near future, like a big pizza pie, in the eye? That’s amore. Say again…That’s amore. So then, what might be more difficult? To be old and know, for sure, what is ahead in the next few years? Or, to be young, and in great doubt, about what is ahead NOT ONLY for the next few years, but for the next 50 years? I tell you truly, Folks: This, and this alone, is what makes me so happy to be OLD….this relative lack of uncertainty about my near future. I feel sorry for you young guys. In my day, we needed worry about nothing more deadly than…THE BOMB. But you guys, you have reason for ANGST to the nines. Anybody here, who is young, please reach out to me, if need be. I don’t have all the answers. But I have some of the answers. Also, I am planning to write a self-help book on this Topic. I will offer it to those under age 25, for free. How do you cope? I have found great ways to cope…through…mostly… DENIAL. Denial will be the key core of my coping suggestions for increasing angst in the years leading up to 2030. And, for you oldsters: How do you cope with knowing you are becoming increasingly OUTDATED and REDUNDANT?.... Sorry, but I have no good advice for the likes of you old fogies….other than to…. Try to have as much sex as you can, in order to raise your endolphin levels. You remember the film in which some BIMBO talked about “endolphin” levels, don’t you? If you do, then you are as old as I. Do you recall the film? And, do you recall the BIMBO, too? This is the quiz for this Topic. Best regards, Gamma G. Note: Let’s all Keep on Keeping On…. NOTE2: Yes, Folks, in the very near future, a Hard Rain's Gonna Fall. Glad I will not be here…then. (Or, maybe I will be, if this hard rain falls sooner than even I expect.) Wish I were as young as Dylan looks here. And, wish I had someone like this cutie hanging on my arm, too. That VW Bus was a blast, I bet...the one in the background ... Water over the dam and under the bridge. Where did it all go? Note3: Denial, Denial, and DENIAL…is the best coping mechanism, in this new modern world of our own making.

Security Guards and their whistles.

I actually enjoy it when Thai girls whistle at me. -
I think that those intending to ride motorbikes should be instructed to not wear flip-flops, either There is proper attire (safety gear) that might be advisable. Never ride in Thailand, is the advice I always follow...NEVER... This is just a matter of proper education, which will take time, as more and more people adhere to best safety practices.

I must say that if I were in a hospital, and comatose, this would be my choice: a. I would hope that my family would definitely just leave sleeping dogs lie, meaning me, the dog, in the hospital bed. b. After all, I would certainly NOT want my family to waste money on me, the lost cause. c. I would not want to go through the rehabilitation expenses, if I, in the unlikely situation, regained consciousness. d. No, if this ever happens to me, for whatever reason: Just allow me to lie in the hospital bed, oblivious to pain and suffering. e. And, this reminds me: I must sign and witness a Living Will, so that there is NO CONFUSION. f. I once did this before, just before major surgery. g. The problem is that my wishes might not be respected, and this often happens, so unfortunately. h. If I should have a fall while in my compound, and if I should be comatose as a result, then let me remain in my compound, where I am happiest. i. I always feel most empathy for the families of people who are kept on life support, well beyond the time to make a good decision about what is best for the patient. j. Of course, not knowing the details of the injury, and the prognosis for recovery, perhaps this case of the motorcycle accident is quite different. One does not know without access to the medical chart. k. I know what I want for me, but maybe what I want for me is not what others want for themselves. Therefore, best to respect the wishes of patients, and best for potential patients to make, crystal clear, their wishes in such eventualities.

Does size really matter in Thailand?
GammaGlobulin replied to BigLek's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Big trucks have the right-of-way on local roads. Same for many Asian countries. -
One other observation: Having lived in Asia a long time, and in Thailand for some years, and not a few years,... I have noticed that Farang and Asian facial features are not quite the same. This does not bother me, however, because, .... I am happy and comfortable in my own skin. Also, I am very handsome. I like it best when they call out to me.... Hey...Handsome Farang!!!!
-
NO. Not cringe. I am a Farang. I call all other Farang in Thailand, FARANG. i LIKE it this way. I have lived in Asia most of my life. But, I am not Asian. I am FARANG. I like being a Farang in Asia, though. Sometimes, I refer to myself as a RoundEye. Referring to myself as a RoundEye cracks me up. When I first arrived in Asia, everybody was looking at me as an ODDITY. But, not as a SpaceOddity. When I walked down the street, people would not look at me as they approached. Instead, after passing, they would turn around and stare. So then, I would turn around and look back at them staring at me...and... SMILE This was my experience in Taiwan before the 1980s. Also, speaking of an ODDITY.... I would often hum to myself that great Bowie classic.....SPACE ODDITY. Sometimes, I would sing to myself I am a Moon Man, you know the one. If you don't, then I will link to these two songs below, for your edification: Who does NOT ....LOVE....Ray? Back in the Day.... Everyone would stare at me. This was what I loved MOST about living in Asia.
