  1. claims Ian deceived her into handing over the equivalent of £8,000 £8,000? surely a typo?
  2. Why not just ban employees from drinking? surely they already are, it can't be permitted to be drinking while working?!
  3. try being a tourist in the uk or usa and opening a bank account. what's happening is standards are rising, protections against fraud are improving - which is good news. as long as you're eligible, and as with many things here have patience, you'll be able to open a bank account.
  4. the Government does not want an educated population many of my thai friends studied at universities abroad, in their second language. could you? my thai gf has a bachelor degree, two masters and two doctorates. how about you? shock horror, thai's better educated than you
  5. get out of the bar, make genuine thai friends, there's amazing times to be had here. sounds like you're missing out because i'm having a great time here
  6. never had issues worth mentioning, suggest you look at yourself.
  7. It is very common for men to two or three Mia Noi relationships and they are usually tolerated by the wives. not correct, i have dated several girls from higher society whose fathers had mia nois, the same age or not much older than the daughter, this was absolutely not acceptable or tolerated by any family
  8. get your wife to sort it out, she's thai, she knows how things work here.
  9. My wife runs one of the Government ministry offices locally so i try my best to keep legal in all aspects don't understand the logic, how would not declaring something you don;t have to declare be illegal? couldn't your wife have given you better advice?
  10. to much what??
  11. yea, because ayutthaya never floods...🙄
  12. fat westerners eat junk food and consume copious amount of alcohol. that's what i have noticed.
  13. yea, this caught me out the last time i visited singapore, possibly the airline could have mentioned it and i'd have sorted before i arrived. it was time consuming and fiddly to complete on arrival but helpful staff were on hand. all well and good, except there will be considerably more people arriving in thailand than singapore, this really needs to be well planned and appropriately resourced.
  14. yea i know. however, my gf has 80% dark film on her car windows - on all her cars, and frankly it's scary being in the car with her at night, she's a decent driver, but what good is that if she can;t see where she's going!
  15. get a friend to pick you up, take the bus
  16. the forms usually specify who is eligible to sign as witness, and yes family members are usually not permitted, what do the witnessing instructions on the form state? i'd suggest following them...
  17. ignoring the drunk idiot, the whole environment, the individuals, the atmosphere just looks awful, some enjoy it i guess...
  18. no one thinks that, apart from the ignorant, because thailand isn't a third world country
  19. sorry to pop your thai bashing bubble, but thailand is not a third world country - check the definition for yourself. thailand has an upper-middle income economy having made significant progress in economic and social development over the past few decades
  20. it was reported in the uk press he was unemployed
  21. it's actually far more common than you think for someone to go missing, in the uk around 170,000 people are reported missing every year, that about one every 90 seconds - and those are only the reported ones. some people just want to disappear.
  22. there's always one...
