  1. since when was a name a reliable indicator of nationality?
  2. it's normal to restrict the amount of certain medicines a pharmacy will sell you. e.g. in the uk there's a limit to the number of paracetamol you can buy in one go. far from complaining i'd be happy the pharmacist in question is being professionally responsible and in all probability following government guidelines.
  3. it's bizarre how much of the screen is now taken up by ads of one type or another. i understand the site need to generate revenue but there is a point at which the number and types of ads negatively impact the user experience, and users just take the hint and go elsewhere. with these pop up video ads i'm at my limit. either they stop them or the amount of time i can bear to be on the site will be considerably reduced. (i'm probably here too much anyway). up to them.
  4. all good here in bkk; apartment wifi via true, mobile via ais. no complaints.
  5. lamb to the slaughter. though i'm sure he'll enjoy the ride to his ultimate demise.
  6. anti social behavior on a motorcycle a deportation offense? what planet are you living on?
  7. to get things in perspective, scammers targeting people and their bank accounts has been going on for years in western countries, looks like thailand is just catching up. if the quality of the back end security of the banking apps and websites is the same as the front end user interface then it's worrying. my home bank website and app make the thai equivalent look like they were designed and built by high school students.
  8. never seen them for more than 150 baht, usually 100, is that expensive????? there's little mon and pop type shops all over the place will do them, usually do photocopying as well.
  9. agree, never been scammed by a taxi driver here, or anywhere else. it's common sense really
  10. yup, agree. nothing to get upset about, just ignore such places, there are plenty of other places to visit.
  11. i'm a new newbie too, i thought it was punishment(!) for criticising the pop up ads ????
  12. you can have all the rules in the world, without enforcement they are so much... hot air... next.
  13. not correct, don't forget about the clean air machines in central bangkok ????
  14. all that's happening is thailand is catching up with the rest of the world. this has been an issue in the uk, and other countries, for many years. common sense and a lack of greed is the solution.
  15. it's a way of keeping people employed, and of those in power feeling they are in power. tbh as long as you get organised it's not that bad. never had to resort to an agent. anyone with some patience and common sense can work it out.
  16. why limit yourself to thailand? if you're teaching on line the world, literally, is your oyster - assuming you're prepared to be flexible. assuming you have relevant qualifications and experience then there are many companies that will pay you well to teach online.
  17. looks like a prostitute who grabbed another woman's man looks like, could be, maybe, who knows??? great reporting
  18. er... so just calmly move the bike. not rocket science is it? ????
  19. the only disrespect was of; health and safety, science and common sense.
  20. actually, four Fs and a B. close, but no cigar.
  21. indeed. says a lot for the countries of many expats living here...
  22. not sure if you're in thailand... sure, most thais wear masks, but most non-thais dont. i choose not to and have received no adverse comments or looks. i have many thai friends who would like to stop wearing masks but basically cultural peer pressure prevents this. not wearing a mask is perfectly acceptable in thailand.
